Over the decades, Carlos Santana has collaborated with jazz legends (Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter), rock guitarists (Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan), blues greats (Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker), R&b singers (Smokey Robinson, Lauryn Hill), and even country artists (Willie Nelson, Faith Hill). The results were sometimes worldwide hits like “Smooth” (with Rob Thomas) or “Maria Maria” (with Wyclef Jean), but others fell between the cracks and never found the audience they deserved.

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers show that fans have come to love tough guy fixer Brick (Stephen A. Smith) on the ABC soap centered in the fictional town of Port Charles, New York.
Brick was introduced when town mobster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) needed a Number Two Man after the death of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
Burton left the network after it mandated Covid vaccines for all employees, and Smith currently works for the network’s ESPN channel as a sports broadcaster.
But he has been vocal in the past year about wanting to branch out and grow his career, thus his spot on daytime, a new book, and rumors of political aspirations.
Another Actor For President?
Smith appears occasionally on Gh as Jason has returned from the dead, providing Sonny with his assassin services once again. Brick was on last week and the show has chem tested him with several ladies.

HGTV stars Erin and Ben Napier have been married for over 15 years and have hosted Home Town for the past nine years, so they’re used to doing most things together, including raising their two children. However, Erin has admitted that the times when Ben isn’t around at home can become a struggle as she has a hard time being a “solo mom” to daughters Helen (6) and Mae (3). Appearing on the latest episode of Dave Barnes’ and John McLaughlin’s Dadville podcast, Erin joked of her kids, “We messed them up.” On a more serious note, Erin said that because their children are so used to having both parents around, they can start to misbehave after just an hour or two of their dad being gone. “I feel like all of my friends are incredibly good at solo momming because their husbands work in a different location from them...

Gene Simmons was recently asked about his musical preferences regarding his instrument of choice, the bass guitar, and the ever-opinionated Kiss co-founder took a crack at jazz bassists and other virtuosos such as Flea to prove his point.
To no surprise, Simmons prefers simplicity — a catchy hook — over technical skill, as reflected in his songwriting in Kiss.
In a new interview with Guitar World, he admitted that he never had interest in being a “bass virtuoso,” adding that he doesn’t like “show-offs in music” and that he’s “much more attracted to things that are memorable.”
Simmons went on to give his narrow-minded hot take on jazz — what he called music “intended to show off how well you play” — and technically gifted guitarists such as John McLaughlin.
“You can be a jazz player and be respected by musicians, but the rest of the world doesn’t care,” Simmons said.

One of the funniest "Futurama" characters is the newscaster Morbo (voiced by Maurice Lamarche). A green-skinned alien with an enlarged head (a design speculated to be based on the invaders from the 1957 B-movie "Invasion of the Saucer Men"), Morbo is implied to be an advance scout for an invasion of Earth — and does a terrible job hiding it.
In almost every scene he's in, he loudly proclaims his hatred for "puny Earthlings" and intent to conquer them: "All humans are vermin in the eyes of Morbo." His co-host, the cheery Linda (Tress MacNeille), always laughs off Morbo's blatant threats and hatred for humanity. The episode "The Prisoners of Benda" best encapsulates their dynamic with a five-second cold open:
Linda: "Tonight at 11"-
Morbo: "Doooom!"
So, Morbo's character is a pretty one-note joke, but it's a very funny joke. Most of this comes down to his booming voice ("Viewers trust a...

Plot twists can be game changers in storytelling, catching audiences off guard and demanding their attention for what's coming next. Films like Toy Story 3, Your Name, and Black Swan use multiple twists that challenge, provoke, and leave a lasting impression on the audience. Whether it's a heartwarming finale, a shocking revelation, or a morally ambiguous ending, plot twists can alter viewers' perception and create a memorable cinematic experience.
Over the years, numerous movies across genres have used multiple big plot twists, shifting their narratives more than once and reshaping themselves in an instant. In the world of storytelling, there are many methods a writer turns to when crafting a screenplay. A plot twist is one such narrative device that manages to catch audiences off guard and demand their attention for what's coming next. Although good stories don't entirely hinge on plot twists, they can be game changers if executed effectively.

A star-studded gathering of musicians honored the late guitar legend Jeff Beck with two tribute shows on Monday (May 22nd) and Tuesday (May 23rd) at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Eric Clapton, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Rod Stewart, Johnny Depp, Zz Top’s Billy Gibbons, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry were among the major names who took the stage to perform material and covers that Beck himself played during his lifetime.
Highlights included a rousing cover of Beck and Depp’s take on “Isolation” by John Lennon — performed by Hammett, Gibbons, and Depp (who released the song as a collaborative single with Beck in 2022); Stewart tearing through a four-song medley with Clapton; and Gibbons and Depp taking on Zz Top’s “Rough Boy,” a song Beck and Gibbons used to play together.

Donald Trump, the ex-president, is about to make history as the first former Potus to be criminally charged. But Donald Trump, the 2024 presidential candidate, isn’t about to let the buzz around his booking go to waste — and he may include using his mugshot in a large campaign marketing blitz.
In recent days, some of Trump’s close aides and advisers have pushed the ex-president to turn his potential mugshot into fuel for a fundraising drive, or as a potent new symbol on 2024 campaign merchandise, three people familiar with the situation tell Rolling Stone.

Adding that one develops a relationship with the drums, and "if you have a good enough connection, they will treat you well, but if not, they may not talk to you", Ranit Barot, one of India’s best-known percussionists says, "When every day I look at my drums before playing them, it encourages me to play more. You believe that each drum has a unique sonic marker that you absorb into your brain, and that you spend your whole life chasing the sound you hear in your mind, which is why you keep playing.
"Overall, it seems like I have a deep respect and reverence for the drums and the art of drumming. Playing the drums is not just about technique, but also about developing a relationship and connection with the instrument. I did not necessarily find the drums, but rather they found me."

First of all, there’s his instrument. It’s ostensibly a bass, but it’s got six strings, and it’s running through a couple different effects that make it sound like a guitar. (And on one of his recent singles, the equally silky voices of Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins.

On Monday, July 26, famed rock producer, manager, and lyricist Sandy Pearlman died at the age of 72. His Wikipedia page says he "was the recipient of 17 gold and platinum records." He managed that despite not actually producing many bands, or even albums -- but he left a big imprint on every one he worked on.
Born in Rockaway (Queens), NY in 1943, he got a college degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook on Long Island in 1966.
A year later, still in the Stony Brook area, he recruited a band so he could have a series of science-fiction poems he'd written (the Imaginos saga, about a group secretly controlling world history) set to music and performed. He named the band Soft White Underbelly after Winston Churchill's epithet for Italy, but changed its name to Oaxaca after Soft White Underbelly got a negative review at a big concert.
