First images for Surface season 2 have revealed new details about Apple TV+'s psychological thriller, including when new episodes get released. Season 1 of the mystery series followed Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Sophie Ellis, a young woman trying to piece together her missing memories after a mysterious injury.

Now, Deadline has released new images from Surface season 2, teasing what's next for the Apple TV+ psychological thriller series. This includes Sophie alongside new images of other characters from the series, including what appears to be James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) sporting a new look, Eliza (Millie Brady), and a new character, Grace (Freida Pinto). Alongside these images, it was announced the show will come back for eight episodes starting Friday, February 21, 2025, releasing new episodes weekly until April 11. Check out the new images below:

HBOs lovely, slice-of-life sitcom Somebody Somewhere returns for its final season on Sunday October 27. The show, created by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, stars Bridget Everett (Patti Cake$) as Sam Miller, a woman in her 40s who returned to her hometown after the death of her sister. Sam is adrift without a career or solid relationship, but she forms a close friendship with Joel, played by Jeff Hiller. Sam and Joel have the most relatable, heartwarming friendship on TV. In the opening scene of the third season of Somebody Somewhere, Bridget Everett’s character, Sam Miller, crouches on the floor of a bar, talking baby-talk to a dog. The Paley Center for Media announced on Monday the full lineup for its 2024 festival, which will include a celebration of the Outlander TV series’ 10-year anniversary, Somebody Somewhere (Season 3 is due out on HBO/Max this year) and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol (premiering Sept. 29 on AMC/AMC+). The fest will take place Oct. 16-22 at The Paley Museum in Midtown Manhattan.

Per the official logline, “Somebody Somewhere” follows Sam Miller (Bridget Everett), “a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. In the teaser, Sam seems to be settling into her hometown of Manhattan, Kan. and finally finding her peace after her sister Holly’s death. “Well, can I keep this?” Sam asks her roommate Joel, removing a baby onesie from a box.

Somebody Somewhere is going out on a high note. The HBO comedy’s upcoming third season — premiering Sunday, Oct. 27 (10:30/9:30c) — will be its last, TVLine has learned. It will also be available to stream on Max.

The two outlets will co-produce First Day on Earth, which Coel created and will star in as a British writer named Henri who takes a job on a movie filming in Ghana, her parents’ homeland. As Paramount’s British series “A Gentleman in Moscow” hopes to break into the highly competitive limited series races, the show has submitted for 20 Primetime Emmys, including lead actor for star Ewan McGregor and supporting actress for Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

The eight-episode series follows an aristocrat, Count Alexander Ilyich Rostov, who spends decades banished to an attic hotel room following the October Revolution after being sentenced to house arrest by a Bolshevik tribunal. Based on the 2016 novel by Amor Towles, the series was written by Ben Vanstone, who also serves as the executive producer and showrunner, and whose pilot episode titled “A Master of Circumstance” is submitted for consideration. The same episode will represent Sam Miller in the directing race, who has previously landed three Emmy bids: one for “Luther” in 2012 and two “I May Destroy You” in 2021.

The series received solid reviews from critics and boasted an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

She was in a Quibi show called “Wilderness,” had a viral cameo in Netflix movie “Do Revenge,” and was part of the ensemble in the Max limited series “The Staircase.” But she hasn’t had a lead role in a prominent series of her own.

But that’s changing, as Turner has signed on to star in “Haven” (working title), a British crime thriller that’s coming to Prime Video.

Prime Video will be working with the UK production company Drama Republic on a new heist series. Drama Republic was also recently behind the 2024 romantic drama series One Day, which can be seen on Netflix. According to Deadline, the company will partner with Amazon on the heist series that currently has the working title Haven. An ensemble cast has been assembled for the team and the show will be headed up by Game of Thrones and X-Men series star Sophie Turner. Joining Turner will be Archie Madekwe, who had broken out in the dark comedy Saltburn, as well as Bodies cast member Jacob Fortune-Lloyd.

“Tautuktavuk (What We See)” is the latest from Isuma, the collective of Inuit-owned media companies best-known for Camera d’Or-winning “Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner” (2001). “Tautuktavuk” is written and directed by film veterans Carol Kunnuk and Lucy Tulugarjuk, who also play sisters helping each other heal from past and present trauma.

The trailer for Black Mirror Season 6 features clips from five new stories, each of which looks to push the boundaries of audience expectations. Chief among these is a tale featuring Schitt's Creek star Annie Murphy as a woman whose entire life is available for the world to see as a streaming adaptation she apparently never asked for, and in which she is played by Salma Hayek.

Black Mirror season six finally has a date.

The long-awaited return of Charlie Brooker’s Netflix anthology series is June 15, the series announced along with episode descriptions and the full official trailer on Wednesday.

The season is confirmed to be five episodes, which is two more installments than the last season that released back in summer of 2019.

In the official announcement about the Emmy-winning series’ return, Brooker said he “stretched the parameters” of what to expect from a Black Mirror episode for the forthcoming season. “I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should feature stories that are entirely distinct from one another, and keep surprising people (and myself) or else what’s the point? Restructuring

Multinational cinema operator Cineworld‘s proposed restructuring now has the backing of most of its lenders, the company said on Thursday.

The restructuring, which was announced in April, “now has the support of lenders holding and controlling approximately 99% of the legacy facilities and at least 69% of the outstanding indebtedness under the debtor-in-possession facility of Cineworld and certain of its subsidiaries,” the group said in a statement.

Cineworld Group and its subsidiaries had commenced Chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court in September 2022. The group now expects to emerge from the Chapter 11 cases in July and will continue to operate its cinemas as usual without interruption, it said.

The lenders have also agreed to amended and restated versions of the restructuring support agreement and the backstop commitment agreement, which were filed with the United States Bankruptcy Court.

Cineworld owns the Regal cinema chain and is the second largest movie theater operator in the world.

Netflix hasn’t announced a specific release date for season 6 of the anthology series Black Mirror yet, but we do know that the new episodes of the show will be available to watch on the streaming service sometime in June. And now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, not only do we know that this season is going to consist of five episodes, but we also know the titles of all five episodes – and have a plot synopsis for each one!

Mary Elizabeth Winstead has signed on to star opposite Ewan McGregor in the upcoming Showtime & Paramount+ series “A Gentleman in Moscow,” Variety has learned exclusively.

McGregor was first reported to be starring in the show back in August 2022. It is an adaptation of the Amor Towles novel of the same name. Production on the limited series is now underway. It will debut on Showtime in the U.S. and on Paramount+ in additional markets around the world.

The first season of the series, which stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and hails from creator Veronica West, debuted back in July. The first season was set in San Francisco, while Season 2 will take place in London.

The tech giant’s streaming service has picked up a second season of the thriller starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The renewal comes three months after the conclusion of its eight-episode first season.

Created by Veronica West (High Fidelity) and produced by Apple Studios and Hello Sunshine, Surface follows Sophie (Mbatha-Raw), a woman who has extreme memory loss after a traumatic head injury. Heading into the season finale of Apple TV+’s mystery-thriller Surface, so many questions remain: Who is Sophie, really? Why did she jump off of that boat? What are her true motivations? Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait until a potential Season 2 before we get closer to anything concrete.
