Comedian and 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan was at the center of an event at Madison Square Garden that would not have been out of place in a horror movie. The recent passing of the iconic and legendary actor Gene Hackman has led to innumerable accounts of his work ethic and the impact he made throughout decades of film work. Naturally, one of the other discussions has centered around how he inspired his fellow actors and actresses through those distinctive performances. The nature of his lengthy filmography is such that Hackman wound up working with many younger actors who are now titans of their generations. He had a fiery chemistry with Denzel Washington in the 1995 thriller "Crimson Tide," he worked with a young Willem Dafoe in the 1988 historical drama "Mississippi Burning," and in one of his last roles, he had to face off against John Cusack in "Runaway Jury." One actor with whom Hackman didn't exactly work next to, but who was still impacted by him, was Alec Baldwin.

Tracy Morgan was taken out of Madison Square Garden on a wheelchair on Monday night, his head buried in a towel, after the courtside-seated Saturday Night Live alum vomited profusely on the floor, causing a delay in New York Knicks’ game with the Miami Heat.
On Tuesday morning, Knicks super fan Morgan posted a photo from the hospital, hooked up to a monitor. “I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning,” he wrote next to the photo, in which he gives a thumbs-up.
The incident happened as Morgan is working on his untitled NBC comedy pilot from Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and Sam Means. The project, which is filming in New York, had its table read Friday. According to sources, shooting is not scheduled to begin until later this month, so Morgan’s medical emergency has had no impact on production, and its schedule remains unchanged with producers monitoring the situation.

New York Knicks superfan Tracy Morgan left Monday night’s St. Patrick’s Day home game against the Miami Heat in a wheelchair after apparently vomiting on the court, which caused a nearly 10-minute delay while staff scrambled to clean up.
The incident occured late in the 3rd quarter. Morgan, who sat courtside wearing a black, glittery hoodie, was wheeled out of Madison Square Garden shortly after 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
In a clip shared by Josh Brownie on social media, he can be seen looking pale and holding a towel over his face as he was wheeled out. According to Brownie, Morgan also appeared to be bleeding out of his nose, though that can’t be seen clearly in the clip and has not been confirmed elsewhere.

John Mulaney officially returned to late night this week. After debuting “Everybody’s in LA” during Netflix’s comedy festival last year, the comedian debuted the first installment of his new 12-episode show on Wednesday night.
If you enjoyed “Everybody’s in LA,” it’s safe to say that you’ll like “Everybody’s Live.” Everything from Richard Kind serving as Mulaney’s righthand man to the set and Saymo the robot are back. The show even utilizes its guests in the same way, combining celebrities with industry experts for a free-wheeling conversation. Maybe it’s because of the fourth-wall-breaking clipboard in his hands, but “Everybody’s Live” does feel like a more self-assured version of its predecessor.
Here’s what Mulaney’s new show took from its predecessor and what it will likely continue to explore in the weeks to come.

Two decades ago, Nielsen overnight ratings were king, providing a comprehensive and succinct look at the biggest moments on TV, which, at the time, only existed on linear networks. Now, with streaming making viewing more fragmented than ever, linear ratings just don’t have the same weight as they used to. Nielsen and Netflix have embraced weekly top 10 streaming charts along with a bi-annual Netflix data dump to give a fuller picture of the streaming landscape, while other streamers mostly keep their numbers to themselves.
Faced with that complicated, choose-your-own-yardstick environment, this weekly column will try to make sense of the dizzying array of viewing metrics and offer context on what can be considered a “ratings win” today.
This week, we dive into the recent cancellation of Alexi Hawley’s “The Recruit,” among others that came as a surprise to many fans. Dissecting the numbers, though — as this column will...

Joan Baez was among the guests on the premiere episode of John Mulaney’s Everybody’s Live show on Netflix, where the legendary singer-songwriter took aim at the current Trump administration.
Noting how the talk show was live and uncensored, Baez told Mulaney, “You said I could say anything I want out here.” She then took advantage of the opportunity, adding, “We’re all here to be silly and have fun, and as long as we recognize the fact that our democracy is going up in flames…we’re being...

Late night talk shows may never be the same. This is a sentiment that was uttered by yours truly when comedian John Mulaney debuted his experimental late-night special on Netflix last year, “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A.” An offbeat and quirky inclusion to the “Netflix as a Joke” series, Mulaney’s entrance into what was once considered a network television stranglehold is morphing on streaming seemingly by the day. Though it was a six-episode special for Netflix, Mulaney’s star power behind the desk has convinced the streamer to give him a more permanent solution.
Enter “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney,” the newest addition to late night talk show options that gives the comedian the space to do what he does best: Talk and ask questions. Accompanied by Mulaney’s trusted announcer, fellow comedian Richard Kind, the new series debuted on Netflix Wednesday and has already been renewed for a second season.

Beth Behrs has reflected on the cancellation of 2 Broke Girls following the final renewal of her current CBS show The Neighborhood. Since 2018, Behrs has starred as Gemma Johnson in the CBS sitcom, which follows her and Dave's (Max Greenfield) move into a predominantly Black neighborhood as a white Midwestern family in Los Angeles. The network recently confirmed that The Neighborhood will end after its eighth season. The Neighborhood season 8 is expected to finish off with Behrs and Greenfield alongside Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold.
In a post Behrs shared on Instagram, she addressed the final season of The Neighborhood, which offered a different kind of closure compared to the abrupt cancellation of 2 Broke Girls. The 2010s sitcom followed Behrs and Kat Dennings as two struggling waitresses in New York City trying to launch a cupcake business. It ran for six seasons before CBS unexpectedly canceled it in...
