Elsbeth has been a great hit for CBS in 2024-25, as viewers have come to love this unique mystery series. The setup has Carrie Preston reprising her Emmy-winning role from The Good Wife as eccentric attorney Elsbeth Tascioni. Coming to New York as part of a “consent decree” with the police, Elsbeth soon uses her quirky mind to help solve murders.

The show stands out for two elements besides Preston. The first is that it’s a “howdunnit” where most episodes open by showing the audience who the killer is. While some episodes can make it more of a mystery, the majority play on Elsbeth matching wits with the killer.

CBS’s Elsbeth season two’s finale is going to be crowded with returning guest stars from both seasons of the critically acclaimed crime drama. Nine celebrity guests will be reprising their roles in the season’s final set for May 8, 2025 at 9pm Et/Pt.

“We have always tried to make Elsbeth a place for the best actors to come and play. We must be doing something right since so many of our special guest stars managed to clear their schedules and join us again. Ahead of her Doctor Who return, Millie Gibson's upcoming PBS drama The Forsytes has been renewed for a second season before the first season has had its release date confirmed. Gibson made her debut in Doctor Who season 14 as Ruby Sunday, the first companion of Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor who hoped to find the truth about her parent's identity. Adapting the novel series penned by John Galsworthy, which explores the lives of an upper-middle-class English family across several generations, The Forsytes is the third major television adaptation of the source material.

Well, that was just about the darn cutest episode of Elsbeth so far. While many of us probably had to suspend our belief in reality, it was all worth it to see our favorite Chicago attorney light up right there at the end.

There were a few things that seemed a little farfetched for even a series as campy as this one.

For instance, Scotland is five hours ahead of New York City, yet there were no differences in the sunshine.

It may seem like I’m picking on this episode of Elsbeth, and while I am a little, it was also the first thing that stuck out to me as a tad too convenient.

Still, there were so many adorable moments for just about every character that I don’t even care that there were quite a few instances that veered away from reality.

The Night Agentis one of Netflix's most popular action shows. The series has had two extremely successful seasons, with its debut season releasing in 2023. The first season performed so well that a follow-up season was confirmed a mere week after the release of Season 1. Now, Season 2, which was released only days ago, is already dominating Netflix's US charts. Given its success, it comes as no surprise that a third season of The Night Agent is also in the works.

In fact, the series' third season was confirmed prior to Season 2's release, clearly demonstrating Netflix's faith in The Night Agent. Led by Gabriel Basso in the titular role of FBI-agent-turned-Night-Agent Peter Sutherland, the series is packed with conspiracies involving the highest levels of government, explosive action and the most unexpected plot twists. Season 1 saw Peter rescue the President from an assassination attempt, while Season 2 took the agent into a global sphere.

Even though Peter Sutherland just kicked, punched, and fought through his first official mission, he's already hard at work on his next one. That's right: The Night Agent season 3 is now filming! The third season was renewed prior to the release of season 2 in January 2025 and began production in Istanbul at the end of 2024 ahead of the holidays. He got back to work fast!

On Feb. 7, Netflix released a new behind the scenes video that announced filming on season 3 has picked back up to complete the episodes. Remaining production will likely take place in New York and Washington D.C. Exclusive: Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton and Albert Jones are being promoted to series regulars for the upcoming third season of Netflix’s The Night Agent, Deadline can reveal.

On the action thriller series based on Matthew Quirk’s novel, Evans-Akingbola plays secret service agent Chelsea Arrington, with Horton as Governor Richard Hagan, and Jones as Deputy Director Aiden Mosely.

Shawn Ryan, the show’s creator, showrunner and executive producer, confirmed Evans-Akingbola’s Season 3 return in a recent interview with Deadline. A fan favorite, she returns to the series regular status she held in Season 1 after only making a cameo in the second season. Horton’s promotion was presaged by the Season 2 finale, which found his antagonist Hagan poised to become the next president. Looking ahead, the finale teased that the new mission of Night Agent protagonist Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) will be to probe Hagan’s links to shady information...

After a stellar second season and ending, The Night Agent season 3 is already in the works, but it might be missing one of the two main characters from the first season of the series.

In an interview with Deadline, Luciane Buchanan, who stars as Rose Larkin, revealed that she doesn't know if Rose will be part of season 3. She obviously wasn't going to spoil anything, but that's definitely concerning for Rose fans.

Here's what Buchanan told Deadline when she asked about possibily returning for season 3:

"I have no idea, and I can’t spoil anything. I wish I could tell you, but Peter does say ‘No, don’t come looking for me,’ and I don’t think Rose takes well to direction; she does whatever she wants. So you never, never know."
