Cameron Diaz is ending her decade-long acting hiatus with “Back in Action,” a Netflix two-hander she stars in alongside Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx. The streaming service released a teaser trailer for the action comedy.
Diaz and Foxx play former CIA agents who gave up that dangerous life when they started a family. But when their cover is blown, they’re pulled back into the world of espionage. And you know what? They still like it. “For the first time in a long time, I felt alive again. I felt like ‘the bitch’ again,” Diaz’s Emily tells Foxx’s Matt, intercut with a scene of them fighting assassins at a gas station, with Matt using a pump as a flamethrower and Emily jumping off the hood of an SUV for a takedown. And their kids are seeing them in a whole new light. If you’re looking for another...

The last time Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx shared the screen, they were playing the villainous Miss Hannigan and tech billionaire-turned-adoptee Will Stacks in 2014's Annie remake. That movie musical also happens to be the last time Diaz shared the screen with, well, anyone, as the Charlie's Angels star went on a decade-long acting sabbatical following the movie's release (the two events are presumably unrelated.) But now Diaz and Foxx are back back back in the very shrewdly titled Back In Action, which is not as it happens a remake of *that* Looney Tunes movie (sadly), but rather a buzzy, Netflix bound spy comedy from writer-director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) and co-scribe Brendan O'Brien (Bad Neighbours). Check out the action-packed trailer below:
"Tonight something clicked," says Diaz' Emily to husband Matt (Foxx) at the start of this new trailer, "for the first time in a really long time I felt alive again.

Legacy Recordings is honoring the 30th anniversary of Pearl Jam’s seminal sophomore album Vs. with a series of special new releases, and Consequence has vinyl copies to give away to three lucky fans!
Each of the three winners will receive a 2xLP black vinyl edition of Vs., the 1993 follow-up to Pearl Jam’s game-changing 1991 debut Ten. With tracks like “Daughter,” “Dissident,” “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town,” and “Rearviewmirror,” the album saw the grunge icons avert the curse of the sophomore slump, even becoming one of the few bands in Saturday Night Live history to perform three songs in an episode (rather than the standard two). Vs. also marked Pearl Jam’s first LP with producer Brendan O’Brien, who became their go-to collaborator for numerous subsequent records.

The filmmaker behind the upcoming animated reboot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, has responded to some of the criticism made towards the movie regarding the portrayal of staple character April O'Neil. Speaking exclusively with MovieWeb, director Jeff Rowe says he is “unconcerned” about the pushbacks against Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem including New York and Black culture and explains why the changes made to April O’Neil were absolutely necessary.
"Yeah, I'm wholly unconcerned with those people who don't like it. You know, I would ask them to investigate their own thoughts about why they don't like it. But you really hit the nail on the head, like, it's a New York film, it needs to feel like New York, and April needs to feel like a real teenager in New York. Historically that character has been like a weird mom / friend / love interest. And we're like, no,...

Ice Cube has heaped praise on the performance that Hollywood icon and action movie superstar Jackie Chan gives as Splinter in the upcoming animated outing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Speaking with ComicBook.com, Ice Cube even goes so far as to say that he thinks Chan deserves an Academy Award for his work in the Tmnt movie, calling him the “heart and soul.”
"I haven't met Jackie Chan yet. But I think he deserves an Oscar for this movie. He's like the heart and soul. I always want to hear him talk and hear his instructions to the Turtles and I really enjoyed his performance."
While it’s unlikely that Jackie Chan will walk away with a gold statue for his performance in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, he clearly makes a big impression in the movie, and should have fans even more excited to hear the Rush Hour...

Meeting your partner’s parents can be challenging. Regardless of your confidence in your relationship, a wrong move with the parental units can spell disaster for your future. For Adam Devine‘s Owen Browning, he never banked on his fiancee’s parents being accomplished bank robbers. This hurdle is a tricky jump for Owen, a by-the-books bank manager, and all-around goofball. In Netflix‘s The Out-Laws trailer, Owen and his fiancee Parker (Nina Dobrev) discover Parker’s parents are the notorious Ghost Bandits, and they need the couple’s help to get them out of a jam.

Artists’ influences are never nearly as interesting as what they do with them. Chris Cornell always thrived at taking well-known songs and making them his own. One of Soundgarden’s earliest recordings was a rendition of Howlin’ Wolf’s steady-grooving, broken-hearted blues “Smokestack Lightnin’,” on which Cornell seemed to find his own anguish in the vocal, hollering, screeching, and howlin’ like he was on his own personal torture rack. And later, when he approached others’ tunes, the song itself wasn’t always the most apparent influence. He variously replaced the...
