TV Azteca taps Hesles as finance chief
MEXICO CITY -- TV Azteca, the world's second largest producer of Spanish-language content, has tapped Carlos Hesles as its new financial director. Hesles will replace Rodrigo Pliego, who was appointed financial director of retail appliance chain Grupo Elektra, a sister company of the Mexican broadcaster. Hesles launched his career at Azteca in 1996 as company treasurer and since then has supervised Estudios Azteca, the network's main production arm. Hesles also headed Azteca's executive board of production. Before working at Azteca, Hesles held a post at Serfin Investment Bank, Mexico's third largest bank. In a company statement released Wednesday, Azteca director general Pedro Padilla said Hesles's experience in content and programming was the deciding factor in the appointment. TV Azteca operates two national television channels and its affiliates include U.S. Hispanic broadcaster Azteca America and Mexico City-based portal Todito.com.
