- Rudolf Pellar was born on February 28, 1923 in Púchov, Czechoslovakia [now Slovakia]. He was an actor, known for The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), The Brothers Grimm (2005) and Tarzanova smrt (1963). He died on September 4, 2010 in Prague, Czech Republic.
- Actor, singer and translator. Translated particularly American prose, such as William Faulkner, Ernest Hemingway, Norman Miller. First translated into Czech, together with his wife, the novel The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. He was also an excellent interpreter of French chansons, and American folk songs.
