Sasha Bhasin has had quite a year already.
The rising actress joined the cast of Netflix’s To All The Boys spinoff dramedy Xo, Kitty earlier this year, playing Praveena. The character was a new love interest for the titular character, played by Anna Cathcart.
“Once I got [to set on Xo, Kitty], I felt comfortable, and I feel like that’s how Praveena was too,” Bhasin tells The Hollywood Reporter of her experience on the YA show, which recently earned a season three renewal. “She’s technically new, but she was comfortable in the space that she was in.”
Bhasin has also joined Max’s medical drama, The Pitt, as Nandi, an influencer and patient. “I’m really just basking in the moment and just being right here and right now,” she says.
Below, Bhasin speaks with THR about her latest roles, the “anxiety of being an actor” and she’s hoping to tackle next.

‘Xo, Kitty’ Renewed For Season 3 By Netflix, Set For First Summer Episode After Season 2 Cliffhanger
Exclusive: Kitty’s Korean adventure will continue. Netflix has renewed its popular YA comedy series Xo, Kitty for a third season. Naturally, with romance front and center in the spinoff from the hit To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film franchise, Anna Cathcart, who plays the titular character, got the renewal news on Valentine’s Day. (You can watch the video below.) It comes less than a month after the Jan. 16 Season 2 release.
In her reaction to the pickup, Xo, Kitty showrunner Jessica O’Toole hints at how the show will handle the Season 2 cliffhanger, which had Kitty spontaneously joining Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) for a summer tour with his father and brother. Season 1 and 2 chronicled Kitty’s time at the Korean Independent School of Seoul during the two semesters of her junior year of high school. One of the many reasons Xo, Kitty is all the rage is because K-culture fans get to live their Korean fantasies through Kitty Song Covey’s story. This includes, but isn’t limited to, being surrounded by beautiful Korean people, experiencing the culture, and living your life to a K-pop soundtrack. You know I needed something to get into the topic of today’s discussion! Anyway, while a lot of the music on the show is quite random, some of it is very strategically placed specifically with context to the show. Of course, that one Enhypen song is the most obvious choice for this season, almost like it was specifically written to shine in this moment. But, leaving that aside, I thought this would be a great opportunity to inspect something that doesn’t need inspecting and try to put reason to something that’s perfectly wholesome by itself, just because I can.

Can I let you all in on a little secret?
I watched the entirety of Xo, Kitty Season 2, and by the time the credits rolled, I had forgotten everything important that had happened.
It genuinely sucks when that happens, but it’s worse when it’s something that happens with a show that genuinely has great potential.
(Park Young-Sol/Netflix) Xo, Kitty is One of the Few Teen Series in a Disappearing Market
One of the biggest takeaways from Xo, Kitty is that the season came to a quick end by the time it started to find its rhythm, which sums up the series itself.
Kitty is a cute and fun teen protagonist in an age that lacks them.

Xo, Kitty stands on its own, separate from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, telling a coming-of-age story set in Seoul. Kitty Song-Covey moves beyond her past role as a meddling younger sister into the spotlight of her own tale, mixing romance with self-discovery. Back at Kiss (Korean Independent School of Seoul) following her first semester’s troubles and getting kicked out, Kitty searches for a new beginning—yet finds herself pulled into emotional tangles once again.
Season 2 continues previous storylines: Kitty and Dae share uncomfortable moments after their split; her feelings toward Yuri stay hidden; her friendship with Min Ho shifts after his honest admission of feelings. Running alongside these relationship complications, Kitty investigates her late mother’s history at Kiss—a story thread that weaves in questions about cultural roots and finding one’s place.

Kitty Song Covey's romance journey in Xo, Kitty Season 2 has led her to two notable candidates that could change her life forever: her girl best friend, Yuri, and the unexpected wildcard, Min Ho.
Season 2 of the To All The Boys I've Loved Before spin-off on Netflix revolves around Kitty's coming-of-age journey in Seoul, Korea as she is now involved in a much more complicated four-sided love square, which includes Yuri, Min Ho, and a new romantic interest, Praveena.

Spoiler Alert! This piece contains major spoilers for the ending of Xo, Kitty Season 2.
Though Xo, Kitty revolves around several romantic relationships and a shape beyond a love triangle for its main character Katherine Song Covey (Anna Cathcart), lovingly dubbed “chaos queen” by her platonic soulmate Q (Anthony Keyvan), Q and Kitty’s friendship also anchors the show.
Cathcart is the first to acknowledge that her courageous character still has much work to do in figuring out her “very big, very chaotic heart” as well as supporting her friends, particularly Q as much as he has her back throughout the series.
“I feel like Q shows up for Kitty so much. There were so many times watching the season where I was like, ‘Girl, you need to show up for your friends,’” Cathcart told Deadline. “And we all know that Kitty always means well and sometimes, she just can’t help it.

Despite my obsession with K-dramas and K-culture as a whole, I was never truly interested in Netflix’s To All The Boys I Loved Before spin-off series, Xo Kitty. Already I didn’t quite like those movies, because at the time it felt like teen media had just completely stagnated. But, to my surprise, even with all of its cringe, I did quite enjoy Xo Kitty, even more than the movies it came from and more than most of the lovey-dovey teen stuff out there right now. I think what made the show so compelling was how self-aware it was, and of course, it’s the parasocial relationship with the cast that pushes these shows to become super successful and then be forgotten when a new show comes our way.

A little less than two years ago, I expected to brush off Netflix's Xo, Kitty with barely a second thought, operating under the assumption that the To All the Boys I've Loved Before spinoff was unnecessary. And yet, after season 1 exceeded my expectations, I spent the last 19 months eagerly waiting for the next chapter in Kitty Song Covey's story. Now, having binged all eight episodes of Xo, Kitty season 2, I'm thrilled to say the YA show is just as entertaining and heartfelt as ever.
Xo, Kitty is a comedy-drama series from the creator of To All The Boys I Loved Before, Jenny Han. Teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey thinks she knows everything there is to know about love. But when she moves halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, she'll soon realize that relationships are much more complicated when it’s your heart on the line.

Netflix's Xo, Kitty continues the story of Kitty Song-Covey, bringing together an impressive cast of up-and-coming actors, led by Anna Cathcart. After helping build her sister Lara Jean's relationship with Peter Kavinsky in the To All The Boys movies, Kitty Song-Covey embarks on a journey of self-discovery and romance at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (Kiss) in Xo, Kitty. The unapologetically young adult rom-com might be packed with clichés and tropes, but it’s still remarkably fun to watch, thanks to the lovable cast.
While Anna Cathcart’s Kitty Song-Covey is the main character of the show, the Netflix rom-com frequently feels like an ensemble show. By the end of Xo, Kitty season 1 where Kitty’s classmates and teachers are just as important. Rather than flattening them down, the writers make the rest of the main and supporting cast three-dimensional. Interestingly, most of the Xo, Kitty actors are up-and-coming,...

FilmRishab Shetty speaks to Tnm about the inspiration behind 'Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shale' and how he handled the sensitive issue of linguistic identities.Prajwal Bhat'Sarakari Hiriya Prathamika Shale, Kasargod, Koduge: Ramanna Rai', the title of the recently released Kannada film, is quite a mouthful. Referred to as Shpsk, the film by Rishab Shetty of Kirik Party fame, does not easily roll off the tongue but has received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike since its release on August 24. The film, Rishab's third directorial venture, depicts the struggle of children attempting to save a Kannada school in Kasargod, a town in Kerala which is near the Kerala-Karnataka border, from shutting down. It delves into the complex linguistic identities of the residents of Karnataka's border areas with Kerala. Some offer violent remedies to save the school, others contemplate cunning diplomacy while a few even wonder about learning a new language - Malayalam.
