Exclusive: South Asian film star Taapsee Pannu has signed for representation with Crimson Media.

She becomes the latest Indian talent to sign with Crimson this year, coming after the likes of Farhan Akhtar, Sayani Gupta and Rajshri Deshpande.

Pannu, who works across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil film, is coming off 2023 hit Dunki, where she appeared opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s feature about an illegal immigration technique called ‘donkey flight.’

In Tamil film, her notable roles gave come in the likes of 2011’s Aadukalam, comic horror Kanchana 2, tense action thriller Arrambam and thriller Game Over. In Telugu cinema, she first gained attention from her role in K Raghavendra Rao’s 2010 feature Jhummandi Naadam and romantic drama Mr. Perfect, which also starred Prabhas.

Tollywood is celebrating the historic achievement of S S Rajamouli’s epic movie ‘Rrr’ at the 95th Academy Awards. Several Telugu film stars and celebrities conveyed their compliments to the ‘Rrr’ team Monday after the award for Best Original Song category was announced.

Hyderabad, Feb 18 (Ians) Tollywood actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna on Saturday night breathed his last at Bengaluru’s Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, where he was admitted on January 27 after he collapsed during a padyatra of Tdp general secretary Nara Lokesh in Kuppam town of Andhra Pradesh. He was 39.

Taraka Ratna is survived by his wife Alekhya Reddy and a daughter.

Taraka Ratna was the grandson of Tdp founder, legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao. He was the cousin of Junior Ntr, Kalyan Ram and Lokesh.

The body is likely to be brought to Hyderabad on Saturday night.

The young actor collapsed after he suffered a massive heart attack during Lokesh’s padyatra in Kuppam in Chittoor district. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kuppam where he was given Pcr. His heart had reportedly stopped functioning.

Krishna, a major star in the 1980s Telugu language film industry, has died. He was 79.

Indian media reported that he was taken to hospital in Hyderabad on Monday with severe cardiac problems that needed resuscitation. He died in hospital on Tuesday morning.

In addition to his own career as actor, director and producer over a period of some five decades and 350 films, Krishna is known as the father of current star Mahesh Babu.

Born as Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy in 1943, Krishna began work in the film industry in 1961 and had his first leading role in 1965’s “Thene Manasulu.”

Chennai, March 25: Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli has said that he is not working on any other project besides his ambitious Telugu period-drama "Baahubali". He has also refuted rumours about teaming up with actor Allu Arjun.

"Though I (would) love to work with Bunny (Allu Arjun), there hasn't been any plan or talks yet. All you see are mere speculations. (I) won't be planning anything till 'Baahubali' is over," posted Rajamouli on his Twitter page.

"Baahubali", slated to release in 2015, features an ensemble cast of Rana Daggubati, Prabhas Varma, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan.

It is being jointly produced by Shobu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni and K. Raghavendra Rao.

Hyderabad, Oct 10: Several artists from the Telugu film industry, including bigwigs like D. Ramanaidu and Dasari Naryana Rao paid their last respects to popular Telugu actor Srihari, who died Wednesday of a liver ailment. He was 49.

Srihari died in a Mumbai hospital. His body, which was brought here Thursday, has been kept at his residence for the public to pay their respects.

Other industry members who paid their respects include names like Brahmaji, V.V Vinayak, K. Raghavendra Rao, and Bellamkonda Suresh.

"The body will be kept for public to pay their respect. The last rites will be performed in the evening at Srihari's farmhouse in Bachupally," C. Kalyan, president, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, told.

Hyderabad, Sep 9: Veteran filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao, actor G. Krishna, actress-filmmaker Vijaya Nirmala and actor Ali will be honoured with actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (Anr) lifetime achievement Swarna Kankan award here Sep 22.

Six others from different walks of lives will also have the award bestowed upon them by Anr.

"Ten prominent personalities from different professions have been chosen for this award. The awards will be presented to the awardees in a grand function on Sep 22. It will be a star-studded event," a member of the organising committee told Ians.

Hyderabad, July 6: Exactly a year after Telugu revenge-drama "Eega" released, its director S.S. Rajamouli is starting to shoot for upcoming period-drama "Baahubali" Saturday in Kurnool.

"The shoot will kick start later in the day in Kurnool. The team plans to shoot for few days there before heading out to other locations," a source from the film's unit told Ians.

Rajamouli had earlier tweeted that he would start "Baahubali" on this day. The project has been under-production for nearly a year now.

Starring Rana Daggubati, Prabhas Varma and Anushka Shetty, the Telugu film is being jointly produced by K. Raghavendra Rao, Prasad.

Chennai, Sep 5: Southern superstar Nagarjuna says his "Shirdi Sai" will be the first Telugu film to release in Africa and that the story will be uplifting and touching.

The Walt Disney Company India, Indian arm of the Hollywood studio, Thursday announced a Telugu movie with leading southern stars Siddharth and Shruti Haasan. A yet to be titled epic fantasy adventure, is the company's first locally developed studio project aimed specifically at southern audiences.

"As we work to build a family entertainment brand in India, we plan to provide Indian audiences with an unparalleled roster of locally relevant stories and engaging characters and will continue to tap into the local creative ecosystem to develop content which resonates with Indian kids and families," Mahesh Samat, managing director of The Walt Disney Company India, said in a statement.

Slated to release Jan 2011, the movie commenced production in November 2009 and also features Lakshmi Manchu and Harshitha.

To be co-produced by K. Raghavendra Rao, the movie is being directed by National Award winning Prakash Rao Kovelamudi. It will also be dubbed into Tamil.
