There's no denying that Grey's Anatomy is teeming with drama. But that doesn't mean that the characters don't know how to have fun every once in a while. Whether it's a faux pas in the Or or an embarrassing sexual escapade, these surgeons also help to bring a touch of laughter and light to Grey Sloan.
But, when Grey's Anatomy experiments with humor, it manages to do so tastefully. While some jokes are a little on the nose, it gets its funniness from character interactions. So, even after a tough day of saving lives, the cast still knows how to make each other, and the audience chuckle.

As well as a celebrated screenwriter and a Madman With a Pen™, former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat is a cheeky, cheeky monkey. When quizzed in January 2024 by Radio Times about potentially returning to write for the show, he said the following:
“Look at my ageing face. How can I fit in? And I know, because I’ve seen the feedback, that people think I’m being evasive on the subject,” he explained, before continuing, “The truth is, if I say anything negative about Doctor Who it goes everywhere, like boom, everywhere, right?”
Like, boom, everywhere, right? Like Boom, everywhere, right?
Moffat is so embedded in the world of Doctor Who that even his jovial press statements contain Easter Eggs. “Boom”, as was confirmed in May 2024, is the title of the former showrunner’s new Doctor Who episode. It’s due to arrive on Saturday May 18/Friday May 17 depending on your time zone,...

Ncuti Gatwa’s first series of Doctor Who is almost here – and to remind us of this, the BBC have released a full trailer.
If there’s one thing to take away from the trailer for the new series, it is this – Russell T Davies is putting every penny of the higher budget up on the screen.
With the premiere of Ncuti Gatwa’s debut series just weeks away, the marketing campaign is beginning to ramp up. First, we got the welcome news that former showrunner and Doctor Who’s most prolific writer Steven Moffat has penned an episode for the new series, which is described as “Hitchcockian” in tone. His episode was directed by Julie-Anne Robinson.
Now, we have a full trailer running to two minutes and change. It’s the most footage of the new series we’ve had so far, from the Tardis crashing through a wall,...

We've known for a few days now that Doctor Who, with Ncuti Gatwa at the controls of the Tardis as the Fifteenth Doctor, will be back on our screens on 11 May. To keep us all anticipating that fact, the show has dropped a brand new trailer for the new series. Have a look, but try to avoid stepping on any butterflies, won't you?
Yes, the new trailer certainly relishes the expanded scope and scale of the series thanks to the Disney+ partnership. The Doctor has always been known for whooshing around in space and time, but now the show can keep up in a visual sense with all the top quality concepts and chatter we expect from Doctor Who with Russell T. Davies at the helm.

Steven Moffat returns to Doctor Who to write for the new season, reunited with showrunner Davies for a fresh start. Moffat is known for iconic villains like Weeping Angels and episodes like 'Blink' and 'Heaven Sent.' The episode will be directed by Julie-Anne Robinson, described by Moffat as Hitchcockian.
Though it's been speculated about by fans for months, the BBC finally confirmed that Steven Moffat will return to Doctor Who to write an episode for the upcoming season, which features Ncuti Gatwa in the role of the 15th Doctor, and signifies a fresh start for the series by calling it Season 1. When Russell T Davies reacted with glee to the official announcement that ex-showrunner Steven Moffat has written an episode for the new series of Doctor Who, he did it with a show of solidarity to Moffat’s successor in the role.
After lavishing Moffat and his series 14 episode director Julie-Anne Robinson with praise on Instagram, Davies made a point of writing: “Steven was the second phonecall I made, after getting the old job back. The first was Chris Chibnall, but he sent love and kisses and Ran! Off to write his new novel!”
The message’s subtext seems clear, as it has been in every public statement Davies has made about the Chibnall era. He’ll have no truck with fans unduly criticising the previous showrunner, the post-2005 trio are mates, and they’re all magnificent, thank you very much. Additionally: when it comes out, buy Chris Chibnall’s new novel.

In a BBC press release, the company confirmed that Moffat would be coming back to the iconic British sci-fi series. On his return, Moffat said: “Apologies to everyone I’ve very slightly misled - I am in fact writing an episode of the series of Doctor Who. Exactly like I said I never would. What can I tell you? There was begging, there was pleading but finally Russell agreed to let me have another go - so long as I got out of his garden. Sit down for this one: in shock news that stunned the nation, caused a window cleaner to fall off his ladder, and sent flocks of pigeons flying out of church towers, a Doctor Who writer is confirmed to have written an episode of Doctor Who.
Despite denying it at every turn for months, Steven Moffat has finally confirmed his much-rumoured return to Doctor Who. The former showrunner in the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctor eras, whose previous episode was 2017’s “Twice Upon a Time” has indeed written an episode of the soon-to-air series 14.
While the title of Moffat’s new episode is still under wraps, it’s very likely to be episode three, aka The Episode Long-Rumoured to Have Been Written by Steven Moffat. If so, we can expect to see it on BBC iPlayer just after midnight on May 18 in the UK (7pm E.T May 17 in the US and...

When it comes to the modern version of "Doctor Who," Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat very much embody the idea that, as Harvey Dent famously argued in "The Dark Knight" (much to Christopher Nolan's confusion), "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." When Davies revived "Who" in the aughts, he brought along a skilled writing team that included Mark Gatiss and his future "Sherlock" and "Dracula" TV series co-creator Moffat. Together, the pair injected a refreshing dosage of horror in the "Who"-verse with their respective season 1 episodes, "The Uniquet Dead" and the two-parter "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" (the latter of which introduced queer icon Jack Harkness to the series).

Moffat returns to Doctor Who for Gatwa's first season, apologizing for previous misdirections in a press statement. Doctor Who season 14 premieres on May 10th on Disney+ for US audiences, and May 11th on BBC iPlayer for UK audiences. Moffat reveals in a statement that he is writing an episode for the series.
Former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat steps onboard the Tardis once more by penning an episode of Ncuti Gatwa's first season. After contributing to the series in its "Wilderness Years," Moffat was brought on board Russell T Davies' revival in 2005, writing multiple adventures in Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant's eras. As Davies departed and Tennant regenerated into Matt Smith, Moffat inherited showrunner duties from 2010 to 2017, overseeing Smith and Peter Capaldi's adventures and the 50th-anniversary celebrations.

It’s definite: Steven Moffat has written an episode of the upcoming Doctor Who series, starring Ncuti Gatwa. More here.
Thanks to the hugely entertaining Instagram interactions between Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat, speculation has been rife that Davies had recruited the former Doctor Who showrunner to the new series of the show.
Long story short: the rumour was true.
I think it was Doctor Who Magazine that calculated Steven Moffat had written more episodes of Doctor Who than anyone else. Now we learn that he’s added another, as he’s penned one of the episodes that’ll make up Ncuti Gatwa’s maiden eight-episode run of the show.
Steven Moffat’s episode hasn’t been named, but the director of it has: Julie-Anne Robinson, who helmed the Christmas special, The Church On Ruby Road. She’s said to be directing two of the upcoming episodes. Well, presumably...

Netflix's steamy period drama Bridgerton has had its fair share of sex-scenes throughout its two seasons and, as it turns out, some of these scenarios have actually been inspired by sultry moments in another Shonda Rhimes TV series. Among the many different shows Shonda Rhimes has written and produced in her career, all of them have shared the qualities of drama, fun and diverse ensembles, and intense romance. Therefore, it is unsurprising that the techniques and tricks used in one show might appear in another.
Netflix's Bridgerton is a period romance story based on a set of novels by Julia Quinn. Each season follows one character out of a vast ensemble on their path to finding love. The series has released two seasons so far, with a third and a spin-off both on the way. Bridgerton is also the tenth TV show to be produced by Shonda Rhimes' company Shondaland,...

In Netflix’s Partner Track, the rom-com is a bait and switch for a story less about finding your love and more about finding yourself.
The 10-episode first season, which dropped on the streamer on Aug. 26, follows Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), a talented and determined first-generation Korean American and senior associate who is looking to secure a junior partnership at her high-profile law firm.
But as she finds — with the help of her friends, family and a few love interests — her persistence and ingenuity might not be enough to overcome the racism and sexism of her white male-dominated workplace.
Based on the book by Helen Wan, showrunner Georgia Lee drops viewers into a glossy world where on the surface, seemingly the biggest challenge for the beautiful, intelligent and fiercely good lawyer is only whether the men she dates are good enough to be her partner.

Last year, Jessica Hobbs became just the fourth woman to win the Best Drama Directing Emmy when she prevailed for helming “War,” the Season 4 finale of “The Crown.” This year, three women have a chance to grow that number to five and make it back-to-back female champs for the first time ever.
Karyn Kusama (the “Yellowjackets” pilot), Lorene Scafaria (“Too Much Birthday” from “Succession”) and Cathy Yan (“The Disruption” from “Succession”) are vying for the prize alongside former champ Jason Bateman (“A Hard Way to Go” from “Ozark”), Hwang Dong-hyuk, Mark Mylod (“All the Bells Say” from “Succession”) and Ben Stiller (“The We We Are” from “Severance”). Kusama, Scafaria and Yan are looking to join Hobbs, Karen Arthur (“Cagney & Lacey,” 1985) and Mimi Leder and Reed Morano as the handful of women to win the category.
That number is embarrassingly small, but voters have been nominating more women in recent years.

There are a whopping 237 submissions for Best Drama Directing on the 2022 Emmys ballot, which will yield seven nominees. As a reminder, last year’s winner was “The Crown” (“War” by Jessica Hobbs) and the other nominees were “Bridgerton” (“Diamond of the First Water” by Julie Anne Robinson), “The Crown” (“Fairytale” by Benjamin Caron), “The Handmaid’s Tale” (“The Wilderness” by Liz Garbus), “The Mandalorian” (“Chapter 9: The Jedi” by Jon Favreau) and “Pose” (“Series Finale” by Steven Canals).
The only eligible returnee out of this bunch is “Bridgerton,” which entered three episodes of its second season for consideration. It may have a harder time getting back in as “Ozark” and “Succession” will be back to reclaim their crowns, having prevailed in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Winner Jason Bateman is back on the ballot for the “Ozark” series finale, after being absent for the third season, and joining him will be his co-star Laura Linney for her directorial debut,...
