- The costumes that she wore in the Original Broadway Company of RENT were from her own closet. The clothes inspired a line of RENT-related clothes in Bloomingdales (1996). Still lives in the New York apartment that she has been in since before the RENT phenomenon.
- She and Fredi Walker (Joanne) were the only two original Broadway cast members who did not reprise their roles in the movie version of "Rent." Daphne did not reprise her role due to pregnancy and the role of Mimi was played on film by Rosario Dawson.
