When “Nightline” viewers tune in to the program later this evening, they are likely to see something they won’t expect: the show will have a new announcer, new topics, and even a new title.

Tonight’s broadcast will mark the start of a month-long “takeover” of the late-night news program by “Turning Point,” an ABC News project that will explore the reckoning America is currently facing on racial issues. The effort won’t be limited to “Nightline.” ABC News intends to feature “Turning Point” segments on “Good Morning America,” “World News Tonight,” “The View,” “20/20” and “This Week,” as well as on its digital, streaming and audio outlets.

NEW YORK -- MSNBC is taking more steps to show people it really is "NBC News on cable" as it shifts some anchor chairs. The network has added anchors and correspondents, including several with NBC News ties, in an effort to beef up its staff in preparation for a possible war in Iraq and to work more closely with its broadcast counterpart. NBC Nightly News weekend anchor John Seigenthaler will anchor the network's morning news block from 9 a.m.-noon ET with MSNBC's Chris Jansing. It has also brought in veteran newsman Forrest Sawyer, who had been doing special reports for MSNBC, to co-anchor the noon-2 p.m. shift with Natalie Morales. Sources close to the network also said that Keith Olbermann, who has been filling in for Nachman over the past two weeks, will anchor a one-hour late afternoon newscast this weekend on MSNBC. The network declined to comment. In other moves, Pat Buchanan and Bill Press, who host the daytime Buchanan & Press show, will analyze Washington events on MSNBC's newly expanded Countdown: Iraq program from 7-9 p.m. ET. MSNBC is adding to its Pentagon coverage with White House reporter Jeannie Ohm and former CNN reporter Carl Rochelle moving over there. MSNBC's Bob Kur replaces Ohm at the White House. MSNBC anchor Christy Musumeci moves to primetime, reading the cut-ins and Sam Shane becomes the network's weekend anchor.
