Stepped away from Hollywood and joined the U.S. Army. She completed basic training at Fort Jackson in June 2019. Schroeder received her commission as a Second Lieutenant on September 20, 2019.

Co-starred with her younger brother, Hunter Schroeder, in her movie Gracie (2007).

Grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana, but when she was six moved with her family to Thousand Oaks, California, when she landed the role of Serena Baldwin on General Hospital (1963) and Port Charles (1997).

In 2016, Carly adopted a Shiba Inu and named him Jax Toulouse-Letrec; (Sons of Anarchy meets famous painter). She loves to take him hiking with her, but he's afraid of heights.
