Resident Alien has been a delight since its premiere in 2021, seamlessly blending situational comedy with sci-fi world-building and a quirky imagination. Season 3, perhaps its best yet, premiered more than one year ago, and fans are eagerly awaiting Season 4 as the show heads to the USA Network.

It developed a small but loyal cult following in Season 2 after word-of-mouth spread, and was renewed for Season 3. Until it wasn't.

People of Earth was one of the rare shows that critics and audiences agreed was great; it currently has an 89% critics' score and an 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Created by David Jenkins (Our Flag Means Death...

The Russo Brothers are now synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where they helmed several successful films, including 2019's Avengers: Endgame, and the upcoming two superhero team-up films. However, the duo started their career directing several sitcoms, including Arrested Development and Community.
In a new feature interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote their upcoming Netflix film, The Electric State, the duo also looked back at the beginning of their careers. While they now make millions helming superhero movies, their start in the industry wasn't as easy. Their first project was an FX pilot called Lucky, which aired for one season and led to them working on Arrested Development. During the new interview, the duo revealed which character was the most difficult to cast in the popular sitcom.
"It was Gob," Joe Russo revealed, referring to Will Arnett's character, George Oscar Bluth II aka Gob, the eldest Bluth child.

All the way back in February 2023, we got the good news that Poker Face starring Natasha Lyonne was renewed for a second season. However it's been very delayed due to the actors and writers strikes that happened that year. Which meant the wait between seasons has been longer than anticipated. Thankfully now, we have lots of updates about Poker Face season 2, including the release date!
Created by Rian Johnson, the series became an instant hit when it premiered on Peacock. That has to do with the great stortelling, Lyonne's superb acting, and also the great number of guest stars we could expect to see with each new episode. Since it's been a while and there's been multiple updates, we've rounded them all for you here. Here's 3 updates you might have missed on Poker Face season 2.

Ramy Youssef is back on television, and he's not steering clear of controversial subject matter. The acclaimed creator and star of Hulu's Ramy is getting a bit more, uh, animated in his next outing, via the comedy #1 Happy Family USA for Prime Video. Because, frankly, it's about time someone made an adult animated series following a Muslim family living in New Jersey in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks.
As the official synopsis puts it:
"From creator Ramy Youssef comes '#1 Happy Family USA,' an adult-animated series following the maniacally upbeat Husseins — the most patriotic, most peaceful, and most definitely-not-suspicious Muslim family in post-9/11 "Amreeka." With satire and absurdity, it redefines finding humor in hardship as they navigate the early 2000s under the watchful eyes of their terrified neighbors."
And we now have a release date — April 17, 2025 — and an official trailer for the series; the latter of...

After its Season 2 renewal in February 2023, Rian Johnson’s and Natasha Lyonne’s Poker Face, the case-of-the-week mystery series, will be back for more sleuthing this year.

Since premiering in January 2025, Severance season 2 has been one of the biggest and most talked about shows on television this year. The two-year gap between the first and second season didn't prevent fans from tuning back in and only seemed to pull new fans into the important and mysterious happenings at Lumon Industries. Everyone wants to know what's going on!
The jury's still out on exactly what Lumon's up to in Severance, but executive Ben Stiller finally and officially confirmed once and for all the identity of the season 2 voiceover cameo. Jason Bateman said Matt Damon was such a huge fan of Arrested Development that he wanted to be cast in the movie. Bateman said that's a long shot now, asserting that the project has been shelved indefinitely.
Jason Bateman was blunt when asked about the Arrested Development movie. "I don't think anybody gives a s***," he told Conan O'Brien, asserting that it will never be greenlit. "I think it's done." Bateman's update is disappointing to fans hoping for the adaptation since the 2019 series finale. He confirmed the movie would have double down on the meta commentary. "The story of the Arrested Development movie would be that in the show, [where] Hollywood wanted to make a movie about [the Bluth family], and we certainly couldn't play ourselves, because we're not actors," he teased.

Matt Damon would love to be in a potential Arrested Development movie, should it ever move forward. Jason Bateman, who played Michael Bluth on the hilarious show, recently said he was at an award show when Damon pitched himself to appear in a film version. The twist? Damon wanted to play Bluth in a movie-within-the-movie.
While appearing on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast (via Deadline), Bateman made the revelation:
"I remember Matt Damon coming up to me at — I think it was like the Golden Globes or something — and I was so excited to meet him, and he was a huge fan of 'Arrested Development. And he was saying, 'You know, I really think I could play, because I hear you guys are doing the movie, I think I could—can I play you?'"

Jason Bateman remembers the “Arrested Development” film that almost came to be. Bateman said during a recent appearance on the “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast, which you can see in the below video, that Matt Damon was interested in the project at one point. The only downside? Now, nobody “gives a shit” about bringing the film to the screen.
“Arrested Development” series ran from 2003 to 2006 on Fox and was later revived by Netflix for two additional seasons between 2013 and 2019. In the series, Bateman played Michael Bluth, who is tasked with running his eccentric family’s real estate empire after his father (Jeffrey Tambor) is arrested. Michael Cera played Bateman’s onscreen son, with Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, and Tony Hale as his siblings. Late actress Jessica Walter iconically played the boozy family matriarch Lucille. David Cross, Alia Shawkat, Henry Winkler, and Liza Minnelli co-starred.

Matt Damon was ready to step into the role of Michael Bluth in an Arrested Development movie, per Jason Bateman.
The Emmy-winning actor/producer/director made a recent appearance on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, where he revealed that Damon once pitched himself for a cameo in a potential film adaptation of the hit sitcom.
“I remember Matt Damon coming up to me at — I think it was like a Golden Globes or something — and I was so excited to meet him and, and he was a huge fan of Arrested Development,” Bateman recalled of the interaction. “And he was saying, ‘You know, I really think I could play, because I hear you guys are doing the movie, I think I could… can I play you?'”
Arrested Development, created by Mitchell Hurwitz, centers on level-headed son Michael Bluth who takes over family affairs after his father is imprisoned.

Thankfully, it’s coming with The Hollywood Reporter sharing a first peek at Poker Face season 2. That includes how it’s eying a spring 2025 release date. That’s likely going to be April or early May.

Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson's hit streaming series, Poker Face, is set to return this year. And, well? The list of people they've finagled to guest star in Season 2 is actually unhinged. Like, the list of people who are going to be on this show is truly outrageous and unfathomable to someone like me, a person who does not cast television shows. But if I did? And I managed to pull this off? I'd be screaming it from the rooftop, folks. Because this cast list? It's truly the best of the best of the funniest, most talented people currently working in Hollywood.
And it seems that Lyonne and Johnson recognize that, sending along a note with the press release teasing the series' forthcoming slate of episodes. Exclusive: Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) and SNL alum Molly Shannon have signed on to star in Driver’s Ed, the teen road trip comedy from director Bobby Farrelly (Champions) on which we were first to report in December.
Set to enter production in North Carolina in March, with AGC Studios co-producing and fully financing, Driver’s Ed centers on a group of teens who steal their school’s driver’s ed car to go on a road trip to help a high school senior track down his college-freshman girlfriend and win her back.
AGC International launched sales at the European Film Market in Berlin last week, with additional castings to be announced soon. UTA Independent Film Group is co-repping US rights with AGC.
Farrelly — one half of famed comedy filmmaking duo The Farrelly Brothers — will direct from an original screenplay by Thomas Moffett. Producers include Jonas Pate, Jennifer Pate (Amazon’s upcoming The Runarounds), and David Stone, co-founder of Tfc Management and Tfc Productions. Exec producers include AGC’s Stuart Ford and Aghi Koh, Lorelle Lynch, Farrelly and Scott Lambert.
Coming off of roles in Only Murders in the Building and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Nanjiani will next be seen in Poker Face Season 2, James L. Brooks’ Ella McCay, and Dylan Meyer’s recently announced Neon drama The Wrong Girls opposite Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat. He is repped by UTA, Mosaic, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
Also recently seen on Only Murders, Shannon’s other upcoming projects include Balls Up, Peter Farrelly’s action comedy for Amazon MGM and Skydance, in which she stars alongside Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser, as well as Netflix and 3000 Pictures’ rom-com People We Meet on Vacation. She is repped by UTA, Framework Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
AGC EVP of Legal & Business Affairs Anant Tamirisa negotiated deals for AGC Studios.
