Fans of The Walking Deadbelieved that the zombie horror series had ran its course by the time Season 11 concluded, but its most recent spinoffs managed to resurrect interest in the franchise. Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and The Ones Who Livecontinued the individual stories of some of The Walking Dead’s key characters, and while Negan and Maggie series Dead City and the self-titled Daryl Dixon series have had multiple seasons, Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira’s return in The Ones Who Live seems destined to be a one-and-done spinoff.
While there have been several whispers of more to come from Rick and Michonne, it seems that if this does happen it will probably not be in their own Season 2. As per The Direct, long-term producer Scott M. Gimple gave a short response to the question of whether The Ones Who Live will be getting news of a Season 2 renewal at any point.

The following contains spoilers for Invincible Season 3, Episode 6, "All I Can Say Is I'm Sorry," now streaming on Prime Video.
Throughout Invincible Season 3, fans have been privy to one of the cartoon's most heartbreaking stories with with Aaron Paul's Powerplex. He's a scientist with the Global Defense Agency, but after key deaths in his life, he starts walking a dark path. He begins losing his civilian identity (Scott Duvall) and embraces his Powerplex side more.
As Powerplex, Scott is a hero who can absorb kinetic energy and shoot out lightning. Powerplex's main purpose in life is to kill Steven Yeun's Invincible. Between the character's dark motivations and Paul's casting, it's hard not to think of Powerplex as a callback to another iconic character that Paul played: Breaking Bad's Jesse Pinkman.

Saul Goodman is perhaps one of (if not the most) compelling characters in the world of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The idea of a prequel series to one of the most critically acclaimed and iconic television shows of all time sounds like a horrible concept on paper. Still, in practice, co-creator Peter Gould's spin-off series Better Call Saul ended up being just as impressively written and acted as the legendary show that preceded it. However, if one television executive had his way, Saul Goodman might have never come into existence.

[This story contains some spoilers from the season two premiere of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.]
There are very few figures from the original Walking Dead days still involved in the franchise. Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride’s Daryl Dixon and Carol Pelletier are two of those familiar faces, hailing from the Frank Darabont-helmed first season of The Walking Dead, and now headlining their own spinoff in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.
But there’s another person who has been with them every step of the way, who has charted not only Daryl and Carol’s journeys, but the evolution of the dead themselves: Greg Nicotero, the executive producer and legendary horror mastermind chiefly responsible for bringing the dead to life. A fixture within the greater Walking Dead franchise since season one, Nicotero became one of the show’s most reliable directors, and is still performing that role as recently as the Daryl Dixon season two premiere.

Bryan Cranston may have been the mastermind Heisenberg on Breaking Bad, but off-screen, he wasn’t about to let anyone slack. During filming, Cranston reportedly lost his cool on a co-star who just couldn’t get their lines right. In a show as sharp and intense as Breaking Bad, there’s no room for fumbling—and Cranston wasn’t having it. The actor’s explosive reaction wasn’t just about perfectionism, it was about protecting the flow and energy of the scene.

Exclusive: Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is set to recur in the Peacock series Law & Order: Organized Crime for Season 5 as Isabella Spezzano, a figure from Stabler’s (Meloni) past.
Law & Order: Organized Crime follows the detectives of the Organized Crime Control Bureau as they take on New York City’s most vicious and violent criminal syndicates. In addition to Meloni, Danielle Moné Truitt and Ainsley Seiger also star.

Some TV finales are epic in a good way. They deliver a jaw-dropping twist that leaves fans shocked but satisfied. Others, on the other hand, may go too far, either undoing the story arc or completely ruining the entire show. Dramatic TV finales don't always turn out so well.
Like Game of Thrones, some series over-deliver the shock effect and either anger or traumatize fans for life. Other series, like Lost, seem to have gotten lost on the way to a resolution. Sometimes, a show's finale lands on a cliffhanger that will never be resolved.

AMC Networks’ plans to submit the zombie spinoff “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” as a limited series for the Emmys have been killed.
The cable network had announced plans to submit the six-episode spinoff, created by Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln, for outstanding limited or anthology series at the Primetime Emmys. However, Variety has learned exclusively from two sources with direct knowledge that the show is ineligible to submit in the category.
In 2021, the Television Academy defined what constitutes a limited or anthology series, stating that the story must be resolved within its season without any ongoing storylines. This criteria affected past winners, such as the second season of “The White Lotus,” which was required to compete as a drama due to Jennifer Coolidge’s recurring character. According to the Academy’s ruling at the time, “the reappearance in a subsequent ‘season’ of one character...

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has been building up to a reunion of sorts between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), and it’s one fans have been waiting more than five years for.
Despite reuniting in the series premiere, they have been continually driven apart by the Crm and Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh).
Thankfully, that all changed on Sunday’s new episode, which found the lovers working through their issues and reconnecting as they embarked on a mission to return to their loved ones.
Monsters and Critics got to talk to Michael Slovis about directing one of the limited series’ most pivotal episodes and what the events mean for the final episodes.
We have just two episodes left.
Check out the interview below.

After multiple episodes of conflict between Rick and Michonne The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode 4 devoted its entire runtime to an exploration of the pair’s relationship. Almost play-like in its structure, the episode saw the two world-weary fighters rekindle their love and share the burdens they have carried in the years since they were first separated. Impressively, the episode was written by Michonne actor Danai Gurira, who is a celebrated playwright.

If there's one thing The Walking Dead universe will always do, it's get the internet talking.
Through the first three hours of the Rick and Michonne show, we spent much time at the Crm and witnessed the reunion between the lovers who'd been apart for many years.
And while they technically reunite during The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Season 1 Episode 1, their official reunion comes a little later.
While fans have been waiting for this series for years, waiting until now, with the original series concluded and various other spinoffs in their infancy, was the right time to bring this series to light.
It's a love story at its core, but like all the other series that came before it, it's also a tale about survival, both emotionally and physically. And that's a timeless story.

[This story contains spoilers from The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode four.]
Nobody knows Rick and Michonne better than Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, and to back that up, the powers that be wisely installed the iconic zombie-fighting actors as executive producers on The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. For the fourth installment of the six-part series, Gurira took her duties one step further, by writing and effectively showrunning the episode.
The episode, called “What We,” directed by series veteran Michael Slovis and written/overseen by Gurira, sees a climactic confrontation between Rick and Michonne, whose reunion has not gone exactly as either one of them expected. Rick is fully embedded with the militant Crm, hoping to take control from the inside and build a safer world for his loved ones. Michonne, meanwhile, is fully committed to bringing Rick home from all of the horror, and is shocked that he doesn’t want to come along.

NBC’s sophomore medical drama made a splash at TCA today with a three-year pickup. As the ensemble medical drama headlined by Ryan Eggold is assured to go to five seasons, would NBC try and turn it into a franchise with offshoots, like Chicago?
“There is a potential for a spinoff,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy said after his executive session at TCA Saturday. “I can imagine a whole world around New Amsterdam.”
According to sources, there are no conversations going on or a concept for a spinoff but everyone is open to the possibility because of the bench depth of characters (and their stories) on the show.
New Amsterdam stars Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman, Jocko Sims, with Tyler Labine and Anupam Kher.
Creator David Schulner and director Peter Horton executive produce with Michael Slovis and David Foster. New Amsterdam is produced by Universal Television, Pico Creek Productions and Mount Moriah.

NBC has handed an early renewal to sophomore medical drama New Amsterdam. In a big vote of confidence, the renewal is for for three years, through the 2022-23 season. The size matches the three-season renewal NBC gave its flagship drama series This Is Us in May though New Amsterdam produces more episodes a season. Its first season consisted of 22 episodes.
So far this season New Amsterdam is averaging a 1.7 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.8 million viewers overall in Live+7, ranking as the No.5 scripted series on NBC behind This Is Us and the Chicago series. The medical drama starring Ryan Eggold is adding 4.6 million viewers between Live+Same Day and Live+7, the third biggest lift on broadcast television and second biggest for an NBC series behind This Is Us.
Digital performance is increasingly important for NBC, especially for series owned by NBCUniversal, which New Amsterdam is; it hails from Universal TV.
