Legendary Actor and Film-Maker Sammo Hung is back with a bang, teaming up with Kickboxer Actor Dennis Chan to form a new film company “Sammo Hung films“. This is very exciting news with many Projects already being planned such as To Catch a Killer, Back to School, Operation: Ground Zero, Silk Road, I-Ching Warriors, The Detrimental Protectors and the big one The Return of Lucky Stars.
Excited?
The Return of Lucky Stars will bring together the old “Lucky Stars Gang”, reuniting Sammo Hung with Richard Ng, Eric Tsang and John Sham. I’m a very big fan of the Lucky Star Movies from the hard hitting Wheels On Meals to the Hilarious Winners And Sinners, i am sure The Return of Lucky Stars will be another hit for the gang. I am more confident now, we could get the Three Dragons back together for one last time, Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao.

Capcom wants to make more Marvel Vs Capcom brawlers. The question is, can they get the elusive Marvel license to make them?
If you ever doubt if it really has been over five years since we last received a Marvel Vs Capcom game, just ask the franchise's ravenous fanbase who will instantly be able to cite the exact number of years, days, hours, minutes, and seconds since Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds was unleashed on the gaming world.
A lot has changed since then for the famous franchise. Specifically, developer Capcom lost the right to make games based on the Marvel universe, which has prevented them from not only making new Marvel Vs Capcom games but even releasing updated content and patches for Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Needless to say, this news did not go over well with the fighting game's most dedicated players, who...

The Kickboxer movie reboot is still moving forward and we have a bit of good news and bad news. Let's start off with the good: Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to return to the franchise! The bad news: Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa (Ong Bak, Furious 7) had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Van Damme is taking Jaa's place, and in this version of the story Van Damme is the master, not the student. He will play an updated version of the original film’s Master Chow.
The actor joins Alain Moussi (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), and George St. Pierre (Captain America: The Winter Soldier).
The reboot is being directed by Stephen Fung, who is known for films such as Tai Chi Zero and Tai Chi Hero. The story follows Kurt Sloan (Moussi), "a talented...

Though action star Tony Jaa (of Ong Bak, The Protector and the upcoming Fast & Furious 7) was previously slated to star in the remake of Kickboxer from Honk Kong filmmaker Stephen Fung. However, scheduling conflicts will keep Jaa from being in the film, but fans of the original film should be pleased with his replacement. The original film's star Jean-Claude Van Damme has stepped up to take the master role in the film who mentors Kurt Sloan (Alain Moussi), a talented martial artist who travels to Thailand where he must learn the secrets of the kickboxer to avenge his brother's death at the hands of Tong Po. Read on! That might make this more of a reboot than a remake now that Van Damme is involved, but THR says he'll be playing a new version of Master Chow (played by Dennis Chan in the original 1989 movie), so maybe these films...

Two top-tier action stars have been added to the upcoming Kickboxer remake, with word that Tony Jaa (pictured above, Ong Bak, Fast & Furious 7) and Scott Adkins (The Expendables 2, The Bourne Ultimatum) are in negotiations for two key supporting roles. Both stars have gained a rabid following in the martial arts community over the years.
Stunt man Alain Moussi is starring in the remake of the Jean-Claude Van Damme classic as Kurt Sloan, a talented martial artist who travels to Thailand where he learns the secrets of the kickboxer to avenge his brother’s death at the hands of Tong Po (Guardians of the Galaxy breakout and professional wrestler Dave Bautista). “Kickboxer,” one of two upcoming remakes of a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie from the ’80s (“Bloodsport” being the other one) has officially added a pretty impressive list of fighters to its cast. At least, if you like your martial artists in a movie to know actual, you know, martial arts. The film, set to be directed by “Tai Chi Zero’s” Stephen Fung (who is also bringing a kung fu drama called “Badlands” to AMC later next year, can’t wait for that one myself!), will star proven asskickers Scott Adkins, Tony Jaa (of “Ong Bak” fame), and Alain Moussi. The trio will join “Guardians of the Galaxy’s” Dave Bautista and former Ufc welterweight champion George St. Pierre (last seen getting his ass kicked by Captain America) in the flick. Despite those big names (well, in the realm of action movies, anyway), the lesser known Moussi will be your star.

Another day, another remake. But this doesn't sound so bad after all... Or maybe I'm going crazy. News has arrived via the Brian O'Shea, the CEO of The Exchange, the company producing the remake of Kickboxer, that the cast has been confirmed and it includes some big names. The last we wrote about this Kickboxer remake, it was announced that WWE star Dave Bautista (who is in Guardians of the Galaxy) and Ufc champion Georges St. Pierre would appear in the film. But now we can add a few more names: Tony Jaa (of Ong Bak, The Protector, Fast & Furious 7) and Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum, Zero Dark Thirty). Commenting on the casting news, The Exchange CEO Brian O'Shea says: "Kickboxer will display a style of acrobatic, rapid-fire martial arts action that Scott Adkins is increasingly becoming synonymous with. Along with Tony Jaa, Kickboxer has compiled a talented cast to...

Did you guys know there are now six Kickboxer movies? The 'remake', Kickboxer: Vengeance is released in the UK today. But here's our look back at the first five films...
Kickboxer is my favourite Jean-Claude Van Damme film. It may not be his best film, but it is my favourite. It’s a film I used to watch a lot as a kid and one that’s a great deal of fun to revisit.
Kickboxing champion Eric Sloane (Dennis Alexio) is tired of thrashing the competition in the Us. The best fighters, he’s told, are competing in Thailand. Eric packs up his championship belt, his gloves, his gentleman’s moustache and corner-man/brother Kurt (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and heads over to Bangkok in hope of a decent bout of fisticuffs.

Tai Me Up Tai Me Down: Reeves’ Directorial Debut a B Grade Vanity Project
Keanu Reeves. Hardly as woeful as you might assume, the directorial debut of The Matrix star is capably entertaining, especially if you don’t mind watching an ornate video game. However, his Man of Tai Chi, which was developed as a project to grandstand the martial arts talents of its star, Tiger Chen, has little to offer outside of slickly repetitive fight sequences. Reeves’ insistence on casting himself as an omnipotent baddie swerves the film into high gear camp akin to Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li (2009), and one wishes the star had taken on the less glamorous role of producer and perhaps hired a re-write of a script penned by Michael G. Cooney, whose writing credits consist mainly of dialogue for video games.

Will heroes become villains in the upcoming brawler from the studio behind Mortal Kombat?
Injustice: Gods Among Us is currently in development at NetherRealm Studios with a projected release sometime in 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. The upcoming title is based on the premise "What if our greatest heroes became our greatest threat?" Well, we've had decades of comic stories to answer that one and usually it involves some dark side heroes going evil before getting their comeuppance.
If you'll recall, this is NetherRealm's second stab at the Dcu after 2008's Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, which saw the heroes and villains of DC dropped into the long-running battle for Earthrealm. Punchy shenanigans ensued. Now, it looks like NetherRealm is doing an alternate universe take on the Dcu, setting Injustice "in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred." The Dcu has in the past had an "Injustice League,...

"Chuck" made its title character secondary to the story this week -- but the result was a great episode. Intense, funny and ultimately touching, "Chuck vs. Phase Three" was one of the best episodes of the season.
It seems like I'm saying that just about every week, but "Chuck" is on a huge roll of late. Last week's minor letdown aside, the show has been piling excellent on top of excellent for at least a month.
We have to start with the giant blonde she-male -- er, Sarah (actually, the overplaying of that joke was one of the few bum notes in this episode) and her "Kickboxer"/"Ong Bak"/"Bloodsport"/pick your favorite martial-arts movie fight in Thailand. We haven't seen this much Sarah Walker awesomeness in one episode in a long time, and watching her pretty much obliterate any and all in her path gave a huge jolt of...

We got a good cliffhanger, the best Greta story to date and some decent comedy in the latest episode of "Chuck." But it also set up more than it paid off, and we'll be waiting at least a week to see if Chuck's Intersect therapy really works.
It adds up to what may be the first real letdown in "Chuck" this season -- and not a major one at that. But because we're at the start of a new chapter in the story of Chuck Bartowski, Real Spy, and we don't know how long that chapter will last, it's tough to judge "Chuck vs. the Fear of Death" on its own.
The major hole in the story, as others have also noted, was that even though Chuck is without the Intersect (or more precisely, it's still in his head but has been suppressed), is that even before Chuck got...

The downside to the latest set of photos from "Chuck" is that they're from the Nov. 22 episode, which means you'll have to wait a bit to see the scene in which they were taken.
The upside? Yeah:
The Nov. 22 episode is called "Chuck vs. Phase Three," and NBC's description of the episode says that when Chuck's (Zachary Levi) "secrets and sanity" are in danger, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) goes on a rogue mission to Thailand. A shadowy figure called The Belgian (guest star Richard Chamberlain) and his pursuit of the Intersect are also involved.
So, apparently, is some sort of martial-arts tournament where Sarah has her hands wrapped in rope a la "Kickboxer" and "Ong Bak."
"We have some amazing Sarah Walker Muay Thai fighting happening," co-creator Chris Fedak tells Zap2it. "It was a lot of fun to shoot. We turned the woods here at Warner Bros. into the...

Cinematically speaking, there may be nothing worse than when an action star or purveyor of thrills starts taking himself too seriously. Such a transformation almost invariably begets a personal crusade, which often takes the form of a vanity project, and usually turns out about as well as The Quest did for Jean-Claude Van Damme, or On Deadly Ground did for Steven Seagal. Thai martial artist Tony Jaa launched his career with the original Ong Bak, and after that film and its superior follow-up, The Protector, made him an international sensation, he apparently started believing his own hype: Jaa not only co-directed Ong Bak 2, his latest film, but conceived it as the ultimate Thai adventure, reinforcing his own legend with a self-aggrandizing historical epic that somehow proves that you can actually make a movie without a plot - which unfortunately but perhaps predictably isn't a compliment.
