- Ted Tabura was an actor, known for Hardcase and Fist (1989), The Master Demon (1991) and 3 Little Ninjas and the Lost Treasure (1993). He died on August 12, 2013 in Gardena, California, USA.
- Shihan Tabura began his martial arts training under his cousin. Later he discovered the Okinawa-Te Dojo headed by Shihan Gordon Doversola. While training there, Tabura met John Louis (deceased) who became his final instructor. Sensei Louis ranked Tabura as a Black Belt in 1968. Shihan Tabura was dubbed 'The Sickle Man' for his expertise in the use of the Japanese Kama (sickles). He was one of the highest ranks in the world in the arts of Okinawa Te and Lima Lama.
