Those who have been following my coverage of the Harlan Coben adaptations coming out of the garbage chute of Netflix are probably aware of how much I hate the writer and the streaming platform. For those who don’t, here’s a primer: I hate Coben and everything of his that’s been commissioned by Netflix. I hate the readers who have made his books famous. I also hate the people who watch these serialized adaptations so that more of Coben’s nonsensical books can be turned into shows. The only people I do not hate are the cast and crew who are in charge of turning Coben’s trash into something digestible. I know that their hearts aren’t in it. It’s pretty apparent that they are doing it because there’s an audience for this, which Netflix is going to milk until their enthusiasm runs dry, and...

If you can read this, you can also check out the latest Harlan Coben adaptation on Netflix. The popular and prolific author's latest novel-turned-series, Caught, was released on the streaming behemoth today, Wednesday, March 26, 2025. And with its arrival, so too, comes some insight from Coben himself on his other projects currently in the works, Runaway and I Will Find You.
In new reporting from Variety, Coben let a few details slip about the forthcoming projects. Namely, that the Minnie Driver, James Nesbitt, and Ruth Jones-starring Runaway is already in production in England, and that the Sam Worthington-frontedI Will Find You will begin shooting even sooner than you think! Unfortunately, the update did not include any details on his Myron Bolitar television series with equally-as-prolific (and beloved!) television creator David E. Kelley.
Speaking with Variety, the author explained that:

In an exclusive interview with Variety, bestselling author Harlan Coben sat down alongside director-showrunner Miguel Cohan (“No Return”) to drill down on the first Latin American Netflix adaptation of one of his multiple novels, “Caught,” (“Atrapados”).
Speaking on Zoom from Buenos Aires, Coben was full of praise for the work Cohan and his team had done on the mini-series adaptation for Netflix, set to debut worldwide on March 26. “What I love about this project is the idea of taking a novel by an American author and blending it with Argentine sensibilities – especially their incredible talent and unique settings,” he said.
He took a hands-off approach to the re-version, trusting them implicitly on their ability to adapt his work to an Argentine backdrop.

Harlan Coben's series on Netflix are addictive, puzzling, quirky, mysterious, thrilling, and full of twists and turns. Expect more of the same coming your way soon. A new series from Netflix’s favorite thriller writer is set to launch later this month.
Caught was Coben’s tenth novel when released in 2010. It’s one of 14 of his books being dramatized for Netflix under a long-term deal between the platform and Coben. This one is a roller coaster of a thriller which will have you gripped. It looks set to be a strong binge-watch show.
As a quick scene setting, the show was filmed in Argentina and is Coben’s first Latin America set adaptation. That just adds a neat extra flavour to the show helping make it stand out from the crowd. The author again took on an Executive Producer role so we can be very confident of this being another high-quality drama.

Harlan Coben has become a key creator of Netflix shows, and it’s not going to stop anytime soon! Here’s a look at what other shows based on the author’s works are coming to the streamer.
Since 1990, Harlan Coben has become a bestselling author known for twisty crime thrillers and dramas that often involve exploring the secrets buried behind seemingly idyllic families and neighborhoods. That includes the Myron Bolitar series and scores of stand-alone novels.
Not surprisingly, there have been some adaptations of Coben’s works, such as Prime Video’s short-lived Shelter. However, in 2018, Coben signed a deal with Netflix which has since produced eight limited series based on his various novels. The latest, Missing You, debuted on January 1, 2025.
However, that’s far from the last project coming to the streamer. Here’s 6 Harlan Coben shows that are in the works and coming to Netflix (and actually...

Missing You is one of Netflix's most popular shows at the moment. With all five episodes of the mystery thriller dropping nearly a week ago, most viewers have already binge-watched them all. Now, they're left wondering if a new batch of episodes will be released soon in a Missing You season 2.
Unfortunately, this will not happen. Like all of Harlan Coben's previous Netflix shows, Missing You is a limited series. This means it was designed to be a self-contained series with a complete story told within a single season. While some may argue that the show ended in a way where more story could be told, that's just not going to happen. The mystery thriller pretty much ended the same way the Missing You book did.
However, don't feel sad! Harlan Coben has several new Netflix series in the works that'll fill the void. In fact, one of...

Netflix's newest Harlan Coben show, Missing You, will not be the streaming service's last adaptation of a Harlan Coben novel. In 2018, Harlan Coben signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix (via Deadline). The deal includes Netflix adapting 14 of Harlan Coben's books into TV shows. So far, Netflix has made eight Harlan Coben TV shows, with Harlan Coben as the executive producer. There are a few more of Coben's books that Netflix plans to adapt. Most recently, Netflix adapted Missing You, based on Harlan Coben's novel of the same name.
Netflix's Missing You has a diverse cast of characters and a thrilling plot with many twists and turns. Missing You's ending is a jaw-dropping finale that wraps up the show's storylines. Similarly to Netflix's other adaptations of Harlan Coben's books, Netflix made big changes in their adaptation of Missing You. While some of these changes improved the narrative, some were not great.

Close Your Eyes marks a stunning return to cinema for revered Spanish auteur Vctor Erice after a long three-decade absence. A brilliantly structured and deeply personal mystery is slowly unveiled like a master's paintbrush on a canvas of thoughtful artistic expression. Erice's elegantly crafted protagonist sorts through the pieces of his broken life to solve a puzzle that instigated his melancholic decline. Love, loss, and reconciliation are addressed on a profound journey of understanding. The two-hour and 50-minute runtime requires a degree of patience sometimes lost on modern audiences, but this story shouldn't be rushed.

Will Flora's findings turn the case on its head?
Now & Then Season 1 Episode 4 drops on Apple TV+ Friday, and TV Fanatic has an exclusive look ahead.
In the clip for the highly-anticipated outing, we see Flora in the year 2000, armed with some evidence that could change things considerably.
Sullivan is shocked by her arrival at his home because it's his day off, but when you're trying to find all the evidence involved, is there such a thing as a day off?
Flora's tenacity shines through the clip.
She's livid that this case has been covered up, and is dead set on getting the answers to prove what happened the fateful night the other characters desperately want to forget.
Set in Miami and shot in both Spanish and English, Now & Then stars an exceptional ensemble cast, including Academy Award nominees Marina de Tavira and Rosie Perez, and Ariel Award winner José María Yazpik.

Now & Then is a brand new series to come out of Apple TV, launching this weekend. The series, which is set in two simultaneous periods of time, focusing on the past & present day, it’s a show that blends romance, drama, action and thrills – all with a great big dollop of nostalgia. It also showcases the talented pool of Latin America performers and creative talents working in the industry today – and to mark the show’s release, we had the pleasure in speaking to the majority of them.
We speak about nostalgia, of their own pasts and whether they too have stayed in touch with close friends from their youth, while they talk about bringing such a wealth of Latino performers together, and how positive this can be for the industry. We also delve in to the accessibility that comes now with streaming sites, and we even get a...

Director Billy Ray ("Shattered Glass") has had a remake of Argentina's Oscar winner thriller "The Secret in Their Eyes" in the works for a few years, set up and then languishing at Warner Bros., and now rejuvenated at Im Global, who's set to shop the film at the Cannes market. And they've got a tantalizing cast in place: Chiwetel Ejiofor and Gwyneth Paltrow. The remake pivots around a former Mi-5 agent (Ejiofor) who can't shake his obsession with an unsolved murder, even as he's hired by the FBI and heads to Boston. He eventually uncovers some unthinkable secrets that shed a whole new light on past events. No word on Paltrow's role, but she'd presumably fill the shoes of Soledad Villamil's character from the original, a higher-up who Ricardo Darin's character (here Ejiofor) is in love with. Ejiofor nabbed an Oscar nomination earlier this year for Best Picture...

★★☆☆☆ Viggo Mortensen rises to the challenge of playing twins in Argentinian director Ana Piterberg's debut feature Everybody Has a Plan (2012) - even if the drama never quite rises to meet his beguiling performance. It's not the actor's first role in Spanish, but it is his first in the country in which he lived as a child. The tale of a man appropriating his brother's identity, Everybody Has a Plan was also produced by the Danish-American actor who also took control of the subtitling to make sure that nuances were not lost in translation. Pedro (Mortensen) is a country-mouse slowly dying of cancer in a riverside community in the Tigre Delta.
Pedro finds himself willingly ensnared in the nefarious activities of pal and consummate lowlife Adrián (Daniel Fanego). Meanwhile, in the big city, refined town-mouse Agustín (also Mortensen) is a paediatrician suffering a mid-life crisis, whilst doing his best to estrange his wife.

There's an uncanny degree of naturalism to this downbeat sketch of a lost London soul, confused over his sexuality, his faltering stand-up career and his place in life. It was made with a Dogme-like set of rules encouraging spontaneous improvisation in real locales. The result is somewhere between Mike Leigh and mumblecore, a meandering slice of life that often hits the truth.

There might be little left to say about vampires, but genre veteran Jordan has a better right (and better actors) than most to say it. This tale of two 200-year-old women hiding out in a coastal town is more mature and less gory than most offerings.

Actors who can genuinely rise above subpar material are few and far between, and Viggo Mortensen is one of them. His soulful lead turn as a German scholar-turned-Nazi sympathizer elevated an otherwise shaky stage adaptation in 2008's Good, and his tongue-in-cheek take on Freud was one of the few redeeming features of David Cronenberg's stilted and misjudged A Dangerous Method.
In Everybody Has a Plan, the feature debut from Argentinian director Ana Piterbarg, we're gifted with not one but two Mortensen performances. This, surely, should be a done deal. So why is the end result - with its enticing blend of character study, crime drama and potboiler plotting - such a joyless chore?
Admittedly, the premise is enough to make you nervous. Frustrated Buenos Aires paediatrician...

Best Laid Plans: Piterbarg Gets Double the Mortensen in Debut
Argentinean director Ana Piterbarg nabs Viggo Mortensen for dual roles in her debut, a slow burn identity thriller, Everybody Has a Plan. Mortensen, having appeared in three previous Spanish speaking features, is a fellow countryman of Piterbarg, having spent his childhood in Argentina. The resulting collaboration may be disappointing to some, as this is a simmering, psychological thriller that banks mostly on constant discomfort and a slowly building menace that permeates the narrative, but this only serves to make the film a unique, fascinating, noir-tinged exercise in the swamps.
Agustin (Mortensen) stars as a doctor in Buenos Aires, who we quickly learn is in a floundering marriage with Claudia (Soledad Villamil). They are about to adopt a baby, something that Claudia is apparently passionate about, a plan that has been gestating for some time. But it turns out that...
