Deborah Roberts took to social media to bid farewell to the ABC News building after nearly three decades since she joined the 20/20 news team.
ABC News is moving from its Upper West Side headquarters in New York City to Hudson Square in downtown, where The View moved last fall.
“Friday finish. Nearly 3 decades after I first set foot in the ABC news headquarters as a new correspondent, the youngest to join the 20/20 team, we are officially saying goodbye to the building,” Roberts said in a touching Instagram post. “The place where network TV legends walked the halls and delivered the news. I was thrilled and a bit nervous to join Barbara, Hugh, Peter, Carole, Joan, Charlie and a cadre of inimitable correspondents. What a moment.”
She continued, “Now, a bright, shiny space awaits us downtown to continue the great work we all love so passionately. Change and goodbyes are always hard for me.

The Oscars In Memoriam tribute, set to Mozart’s “Requiem in D Minor,” began with a tribute from Morgan Freeman to his “Unforgiven” and “Under Suspicion” co-star Gene Hackman. Hackman, who was 95, was found dead last week in his Santa Fe home along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa.
“I had the pleasure of working alongside Gene on ‘Unforgiven’ and ‘Under Suspicion.’ I learned he was a generous performer and a man whose gifts elevated everyone’s work,” said Freeman. “He received two Oscars. He won the hearts of film lovers all over the world. Gene always said, ‘I don’t think about legacy, I just think people remember me as someone who tried to do good work.'”

Sunny Hostin has been unable to catch a break lately, both on and off The View, as drama surrounds the veteran co-host.
Sunny’s surgeon husband, Manny Hostin, is embroiled in a lawsuit alleging insurance fraud, which is embarrassing for anyone.
As Monsters and Critics reported, Manny is one of almost 200 defendants in the insurance lawsuit, and Sunny is unhappy about it.
And now she is singled out by a rival talk show host who recently spoke out against The View.
Harris Faulkner, host of a Fox show, The Faulkner Focus, won against The View for views in January, and she is not holding back about her feelings.
Harris spoke out to The Daily Mail and shared some unflattering things about the ladies on The View while singling out Sunny.

David Leitch may be in talks to direct Ocean’s 14 for Warner Bros, as we confirmed just last month. But we’re told that will not be his next project, as he’s currently moving quickly toward production on a new bank heist action flick at Amazon.
The film’s title and plot details are being kept under wraps. Leitch will work from a hot script by Mark Bianculli. Kelly McCormick and Leitch will produce under their 87North banner, alongside Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum, with Bianculli serving as executive producer of the project.
Known for his work on films like Bullet Train and Atomic Blonde, Leitch is coming off of The Fall Guy, a stuntman-themed action comedy for Universal, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, which unspooled last March after premiering at SXSW, grossing around $181 million global. After recently defeating The View in the ratings, Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner has opened up about her feelings on the long-running ABC talk show, saying it operates on “vitriol.” In January, Faulkner’s daily program, The Faulkner Focus, which airs during the 11 am time slot, ended the month with an average total of 2.552 million viewers, just pipping The View, which averaged 2.508 million. This was notable, given The View airs on broadcast television, whereas The Faulkner Focus airs on cable. In a new interview with DailyMail.com, Faulkner shared her thoughts on The View and its hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. “I’ve seen it when there was a powerhouse journalist. When Barbara Walters was leading it,” she told the outlet. “But now, I don’t really know what the show is, apart from talk, talk, talk; a lot of combativeness.” “We...

Countless comedians became household names thanks to Saturday Night Live. Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, and Kenan Thompson are just some of the names who audiences felt like they knew because of SNL.
That connection between the audience and the cast also means it especially hurts when a former SNL cast member passes away. Here's the complete list of the 15 Saturday Night Live cast members who have died.

If Lorne Michaels is the father of “Saturday Night Live,” then Rosie Shuster is its criminally under-acknowledged mother. Michaels may be prolific for his ability to wrangle talent and reassure network heads, but Shuster was vital in establishing the tone of this comedy institution that turns 50 this year.
“The show was one of the first to break through and represent what was actually going on,” Rosie Shuster told TheWrap during an extensive interview ahead of the “SNL” milestone.
When Shuster is written about, it’s often through the men in her life. The daughter of the Canadian comedy legend Frank Shuster, she is credited with introducing Michaels to the world of professional comedy. The two started writing together in high school and were married from 1967 to 1980. Their professional lives were just as intertwined as their personal as they both began their careers on “The Hart and Lorne Terrific Hour,” contributed...

The first thing you see when you walk into the foyer of Monica Lewinsky’s apartment is a neon-pink sign that reads “Always Believe That Something Wonderful Is Going to Happen.” Her Los Angeles home is sunny and bright, with books lining the shelves, smiling snapshots of family and friends, and artwork filling nearly every wall. She shows me the large, framed photograph her father took of an iceberg on a trip to Antarctica, and a small print that reads “Lovey Dovey,” which the artist Ed Ruscha made for her.

A shakeup is happening on The View. Recent episodes have been missing one familiar face; this time, it is not Whoopi Goldberg taking time off.
As Monsters and Critics reported, Whoopi took an extended break from The View to attend Paris Fashion Week with her new look.
Joy Behar, who filled in extensively for the absent Whoopi, is now missing and has not taped an episode of The View since the last week of January 2025.
Joy has historically served as moderator for Whoopi. She enjoys a long weekend and takes Mondays off each week.
Joy has missed several days recently, more than her usual day off, necessitating a fill-in from another The View alum, Star Jones.
Star Jones has the distinction of previously hosting nine seasons of The View and being on the original panel alongside Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar, and Debbie Matenopoulos.

The View host Joy Behar had a long career as a comedian before she took on the role as one of the main hosts of the daytime talk show. She began working with Barbara Walters on the show before Walters retired. Joy is now one of the longest-running hosts and continues to have a biting sense of humor.
However, in a recent interview, she admits that her comic origins came from a dark place when she was younger.
Joy Behar Talks Her Comedy Origins
Joy Behar has worked as a comedian since the early 1980s when she worked as a producer on Good Morning America and The New Show by SNL creator Lorne Michaels. She also hosted a variety show called Way Off-Broadway and a talk show in New York City. After appearing on the HBO special One Night Stand, she got a chance at a major gig.

Fans either love or hate Joy Behar on The View. The daytime talk show star has a habit of saying whatever is on her mind without a filter. Her agent warned her against accepting the role.

Va-va-voom ostrich-plumed showgirls were once synonymous with Las Vegas entertainment. While Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl explores the end of an era for the glitzy, glamorous dancers, the first showgirls were introduced to the U.S. in The Ziegfield Follies, a series of revues on Broadway from 1907 to 1927, inspired by the famed dancers at the Folies Bergère in Paris.
Initially kicking off in 1869 in a Parisian cabaret hall, the Folies Bergère launched the career of Josephine Baker, who made a splash in 1926 dancing topless with strategically placed pearls and a skirt composed of artificial bananas. Fast forward to Christmas Eve, 1959, when Lou Walters — then-entertainment director for the lavish Tropicana Las Vegas and father of broadcast journalist Barbara Walters — imported the sensational Folies Bergère act directly from Paris. Touching down in a pre-Cirque du Soleil era when French revues were all the rage, it went on to become the longest-running show in Vegas history,...

Carrey’s comments came in a new interview with Comicbook.com discussing his role in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Revising his previous statements about stepping away from acting altogether, he explained that he is now considering each potential project individually, rather than “retiring” outright.
Then, asked if he’d be open to returning to The Mask, Carrey replied, “Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea. If somebody had the right idea, I guess.”
Continuing, he clarified that whether he agrees to do a project or not is “not really about the money,” but rather about finding an arrangement that’s worthy of his time. “I joke about the money…...

There have been near countless retellings of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, including the classic 1951 film starring Alaistar Sim and the other classic film that exclusively stars Rich Little. But for comedy fans in the ‘80s, the best onscreen Scrooge wasn’t even named “Scrooge,” he was Frank Cross, as played by Bill Murray in Scrooged.
Scrooged hit theaters back in 1988, so obviously not every aspect of it holds up today. For example, in one scene, Frank’s brother James receives a VHS player for Christmas and amazingly doesn’t just toss it in the garbage. Also, several jokes seem more than a little iffy from today’s standpoint — like the racist running gag about Chinese restaurants serving up cat meat. Why didn’t three ghosts show up and convince the filmmakers to cut that material?
Another joke that doesn’t seem so great comes when Frank is about to...

Joe Rogan is no stranger to stirring the pot—whether it’s taking on Hollywood elites, diving deep into conspiracy theories, or offering his unfiltered opinions about literally anything. So, when he casually tossed a remark about The View, it’s no surprise the comment turned heads.

The unpredictable nature of Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, has kept fans coming back for more, constantly making headlines. But when it came to Whoopi Goldberg’s show, it wasn’t Rogan sparking the conversation; rather, it was his guest, Tim Dillon, who stole the spotlight.

Throughout the years, ABC's The View has had plenty of big names occupying its seats, but in 2024, the show's cast of panel members remains one of the foremost voices in daytime talk television.
Created by and starring legendary TV journalist Barbara Walters, The View has become a staple of daytime television. It has been running on ABC for 27 years with no signs of a cancellation (despite what some internet rumors may say).
The format is simple: a panel of hosts (along with guests occasionally) sit down and hash it out over the latest daily hot topics. It is a formula that has long worked on TV on other shows like NBC's Today or CBS' The Talk.

Donald Trump recently received a loud and elaborate message from the iconic Whoopi Goldberg on why she doesn’t particularly like him. Trump, who is currently running for president in the upcoming elections, hasn’t been the kindest toward Goldberg and her crew at The View either. While he had a million other things to worry about while speaking at his rally in Pennsylvania, the 78-year-old spoke about how “dumb” he believes hosts of The View are.

Whoopi Goldberg put Joe Rogan in his place during an episode of “The View” in which the Egot winner corrected Rogan’s false claims about one of Trump’s appearances on the ABC daytime talk show. Trump recently guested on Rogan’s Spotify podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” where the two claimed that “The View” hosts once acted favorably to Trump. Goldberg said it was fake news.
“There’s a lot of fake news coming up so we’re going to clear some of it up,” Goldberg said as “The View” threw to a clip from Rogan’s podcast in which Rogan said Trump guested on “The View” in 2015.

Some jokes never get old.
While introducing his new film Heretic last night at the AFI Fest in Hollywood, Hugh Grant needed less than 60 seconds to crack a joke about his most infamous moment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film’s directors took the podium first, telling the audience about their new religious horror film before imploring the actor to join them. “Mr. Hugh Grant, will you just say a few words please?”
“I have nothing interesting to add to that except that it is very nice to be here,” he obliged. “Hollywood Boulevard has always been a lucky place for me.”
That line broke up the audience, clearly made up of attendees old enough to get the reference. The other time Grant got lucky on Hollywood Boulevard? That would have been in 1995 when cops caught him allegedly receiving oral sex in his BMW from sex worker Divine Brown.

As movie fans are likely well aware, the Criterion Collection is the home video company that distributes prestige editions of some of the greatest films ever made, plus Armageddon. Cinephiles love Criterion so much that they’ll even wait for several hours in the rain just to climb into the back of a van that resembles one of their office’s storage closets.
Criterion recently announced their latest batch of additions to the collection, and it includes a fairly surprising title: a 4K restoration of 1986’s Jo Jo Dancer Your Life Is Calling.
As we’ve discussed before, Jo Jo Dancer is essentially an experimental Richard Pryor biopic that was co-written and directed by Pryor. He also stars as his fictional surrogate who, in the film’s opening moments, nearly burns to death, not unlike Pryor, after freebasing cocaine.

Joy Behar, alongside Brian Teta, The View’s executive producer, announced a significant change to the show this year, but not everyone is happy about it.
As Monsters and Critics have reported, things are getting tense on The View between the cohosts as the election nears, and not everyone is getting along.
Most ladies look forward to the annual Halloween episode, during which everyone, even the audience, dresses up.
These shows are pre-taped, and since the upcoming election remains close, some feel it is too vital to miss any live-action news during the host chat on The View.
Brian Teta announced that no hosts will dress up this year because they do not want a prerecorded show ahead of the November presidential election.
Joy Behar is admittedly not a fan of dressing up on the show and called it “annoying,” but fans are speaking out because they will miss the fun traditions.

Rosie O’Donnell received a letter from Lyle Menendez about 30 years ago after he saw her on “Larry King Live,” saying that she believed Erik’s claims that they were molested by their father.
“I was out to lunch with Barbara Walters and our publicist Cindy Berger, and I said, ‘Barbara, you’re not going to believe this, but guess who wrote to me—Lyle Menendez,” O’Donnell recalls. “Barbara said, ‘Ignore him, he’s a murderer. He’s very cunning.’”
Walters had previously interviewed Lyle and his brother Erik in prison for “20/20.”
O’Donnell followed her advice. But two years ago, when a documentary was released that featured new evidence that Lyle and Erik were molested by their father, O’Donnell spoke out in support of the siblings on social media and in the press. “I got a call from Lyle’s wife – I didn’t even know he had a...

When Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race on July 21, it left PBS Frontline‘s The Choice with a big gaping hole.
The documentary of the two major parties’ presidential nominees has been a quadrennial tradition, and its filmmaker, Michael Kirk, had weeks earlier screened a four-hour rough cut of Biden vs. Trump.
“We’d seen the debacle of the debate, and figured he was a dead man walking, but you never knew,” Kirk said.
As it turned out, Frontline executive producer Raney Aronson-Rath had also insisted that Kirk and his team also make a first-of-its-kind documentary on the vice president, meaning that they were already gathering material on the Democrats’ eventual nominee, Kamala Harris.
Yet The Choice was still a scramble.
“We edited it in five weeks, shot it in two weeks, researched it in a week,” Kirk said. “In a way it was great, because we could get all her close friends,...
