Despite the drama on his other series, Apple TV+'s The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin, Noel Fielding will return to host The Great British Bake-Off. In a new statement, the actor and host's spokesperson insisted that, despite the rumor mill churning out worry given the cancelation of Dick Turpin, Fielding "will be returning" to host the popular reality series.
Fielding's spokesperson has since issued the following statement (which we first encountered via Deadline):
There has been absolutely no discussion about Noel stepping down from 'Bake Off.' We have been in contact with Channel 4 and Love Productions throughout all the speculation and his ‘stepping down’ has never been part of that dialogue. We can confirm he will be returning to co-host the next series of 'Bake Off.'

The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin was Apple TV+’s high jinks vehicle for the very best of British comedy talent, but there’s nothing whimsical about the series coming to a clattering halt this week.
Production has ceased on Season 2 of the Big Talk Studios series about an 18th-century highway robber, putting a cast and crew of hundreds out of work with nothing to show for their efforts. Filmed footage cannot be fashioned into a scaled-back season and there is no hope of getting the show back on the road, according to three sources familiar with Dick Turpin’s demise.
At the center of this highly unusual situation is Noel Fielding, the comedy’s titular character, who is also known to American viewers as the co-host of The Great British Baking Show. The star, who shot to fame in surrealist noughties comedy The Mighty Boosh, failed to return...

Apple TV+‘s comedy The Completely Made–Up Adventures of Dick Turpin will not return.
The show has ceased production on series two, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed on Thursday. British tabloid The Sun first reported the news, adding that titular star Noel Fielding — well known among U.S. audiences as a co-host of The Great British Baking Show — pulled out three-quarters of the way through the shoot.
Filming started on a second series in the autumn, the tabloid said, but 51-year-old Fielding did not return after the Holidays. The cast and crew have now been stood down. Though THR has been unable to confirm the report, Fielding’s team has been contacted for comment.
Written by Fielding, Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain, the series followed the contemptuous life of the 18th-century highwayman, known in York, England, as a thief, poacher and killer but whose exploits have been widely romanticized in modern culture.

Apple TV+’s comedy series “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin” has stopped production because the main actor, Noel Fielding, left the show before completing a quarter of its second season. Big Talk Studios had to stop production early because the series could not continue without its lead star.
The shutdown happened after the 2024 holiday season because Fielding did not return to the set in early 2025. Apple TV+, Big Talk Studios, and Fielding’s team at Pbj Management have not explained why he left.
The comedy series featured Fielding as Dick Turpin, a surprising 18th-century highway robber who used his charm more than his taking abilities. The show’s first season had popular British comedians like Ellie White, Dolly Wells, Mark Heap, Marc Wootton, Duayne Boachie, and Michael Fielding.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin is no more.
Season 2 of the Apple TV+ comedy has been shut down after Noel Fielding pulled out around three-quarters of the way through the shoot.
The Sun newspaper first reported on Dick Turpin’s demise. Deadline understands that Season 2 cannot be salvaged and that producer Big Talk Studios has disbanded the cast and crew.
The Sun reported that Fielding “failed to come to work” at the start of 2025 after the series paused for the Christmas holiday.
Apple, Big Talk, and Fielding’s rep at Pbj Management have been contacted for comment.
In the irreverent retelling of the 18th-century highwayman’s life, Turpin is the most famous but least likely of robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship, and great hair. Together with his gang of lovable rogues, Turpin rides the highs and lows of his new endeavors, including a brush with celebrity.

Anthology series have been growing in popularity since the late 1940s and work to tell a cohesive story from a variety of different characters. From Black Mirror to The Twilight Zone, these shows work to keep viewers gripped week after week. Plus, since this genre is so diverse, it can suit just about any niche.
Though these series work best in a typical television format, anthology series have also seen a ton of success in the streaming industry. Thus, even when viewers decide to binge these shows over a few days, they can still appreciate how the individual narratives blend over time. As such, it seems that this vintage genre has seen an impressive revival throughout the 2020s.

Ron Livingston can’t walk down the street without “Sex and the City” fans hating him. Or, more precisely, his infamous character Jack Berger.
During Season 5 of the hit series, Livingston’s Berger dates Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie. A struggling novelist, Berger’s mood swings lead to him ending things with Carrie via Post-it, reading, “I’m sorry. I can’t. Don’t hate me.”
Livingston’s real-life wife, fellow actress Rosemarie DeWitt, said during “The Drew Barrymore Show” that she and Livingston couldn’t even walk through New York City without rabid “Sex and the City” fans accosting them.
“Back in the day, when we first started dating, we’d be walking in the West Village, and there’d be those ‘Sex and the City’ tours, and Ron would be like, ‘Go left! Go left!,’” DeWitt said. “We’d have to duck into Magnolia Bakery or something because...

Thanks to its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, Babygirl made waves ahead of its theatrical release and it helps that it boasts an all-star cast. Directed by Halina Reijn (Bodies Bodies Bodies), the Nicole Kidman-led erotic thriller centers on Romy, a high-powered CEO who finds herself entangled in a high-stakes affair with her much younger intern, Samuel (Harris Dickinson). Although Romy is mostly satisfied with her long-time marriage to Jacob (Antonio Banderas), something is missing when it comes to desire and sex. Hailed as one of the best erotic thrillers in years, Babygirl explores complex power dynamics.
Not only does the film feature an age-gap romance, but Babygirl plays with the characters' positions of power. While Kidman's Romy is in charge in the workplace, the ever-confident Samuel takes control elsewhere. The character-driven narrative easily makes Babygirl one of Nicole Kidman's best movies, though it also leaves ample room for Dickinson,...

The ending of Inside Man explained a lot but still left some threads dangling in its final episode. Steven Moffat's Inside Man's central conceit is that "anyone can be a murderer" given the right circumstances. This theory is explored through the surprising connections between Jefferson Grieff, a convicted murderer on death row in the US, and vicar Harry Watling in a sleepy English village in the UK. When Harry's son Ben is unwittingly implicated in possession of child pornography, Harry makes a series of decisions to protect his son that have fatal consequences.

Emma Myers is known for her quirky, optimistic roles, but she recently gave a different performance. Myers players an intense, determined character named Pip in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. The series highlights Myers' versatility as an actress and showcases her range.

Myers took on the role of bubbly, quirky Enid Sinclair, the perfect foil to protagonist Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder deviates from the usual high school narrative that viewers have grown accustomed to. Stress about college, prom, or even relationships does not take center stage in the six-part series. Instead, the show, which first premiered on the BBC before making its way to Netflix, centers on murder, mystery, and the traumatic effect that the death of someone can have on a community. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder's star, Pippa Fitz-Amobi, played by talented Wednesday star Emma Myers, is not concerned with any of the problems one would expect a high school teenager to have. Instead, Pip's only goal is to unravel the mystery surrounding a murder that shook her community of Little Kilton.

Warning: Spoilers for A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder explores how seemingly good people can make drastic choices under pressure. Pip's investigation uncovers the complexity of the Andie Bell case, challenging her beliefs and morals. The series reveals that even "good" characters are capable of morally questionable actions under duress.
Netflixs latest crime thriller, A Good Girls Guide to Murder, is based on the young adult novel of the same name by Holly Jackson and covers some heavy topics. The series follows Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers) as she utilizes her Epq to solve the Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies) case that rocked her quiet English town five years prior. Following Andies disappearance, Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni), Andies boyfriend, seemingly confessed to her murder via text message before purposefully overdosing in the woods. After his body was found, the case was ostensibly solved, and the...

Pip's Epq in the series aims to solve a murder case in her town, going against the belief that the suspect was guilty. Despite pushback, Pip's determination to continue her Epq research is crucial in uncovering the truth behind the crime. Pip's Epq is instrumental in solving the mystery that had baffled the police for five years, making a significant impact.
Warning: Minor spoilers about the result of Pips Epq in A Good Girls Guide to Murder.
Based on the young adult crime novel of the same name by Holly Jackson, A Good Girls Guide to Murder has quickly become a hit with Netflix subscribers. However, discussions of Pip Fitz-Amobis (Emma Myers) Epq in the series will undoubtedly create a bit of confusion with American audiences. Clearly a school project of sorts, the research-based endeavor becomes even more baffling when she appears to be the only teenager working on one.

Emma Myers, who portrays Wednesday Addams’ werewolf roommate, Enid Sinclair, in Wednesday, stars as the smart and single-minded Pip Fitz-Amobi in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, based on Holly Jackson’s hugely successful YA mystery novel of the same name. The six-episode season, adapted by Poppy Cogan and directed by Dolly Wells, follows 17-year-old Pip as she investigates the murder of a high school student who was killed five years prior.

One needn’t have read Holly Jackson’s novel of the same name to immediately identify exactly what Netflix’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is up to. The six-part series fits squarely into a well-trod, but deservedly beloved tradition of mysteries about meddling teenage gumshoes, with traces of everything from Nancy Drew to Harriet the Spy to Veronica Mars, if you’re looking for American antecedents. Or, with its small village British setting, maybe it’s more Miss Teen Marple?
Adapted by Poppy Cogan and directed with solid, tone-blending balance by Dolly Wells and Tom Vaughan, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is too familiar and too rushed, especially toward its final episode, to get anywhere near the pinnacle of the prolific genre. But on its modest level the series, which already premiered on BBC Three and iPlayer works well. Its core mystery zigzags decently, spiked by moments...

Samantha Jones is staying in London according to actress Kim Cattrall.
The “Sex and the City” alum tweeted that she will not reprise her role for Season 3 of revival series “And Just Like That.” Cattrall briefly appeared in the Season 2 finale in a scene filmed separate from the core cast.
Life & Style reported that Cattrall was set to be back for Season 3, with a source telling the outlet that Cattrall would again film away from the rest of the cast. The publication said HBO was “bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.”
Not true, according to the actress herself.
“Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” Cattrall commented when an Elle UK article claiming her return was reposted on X.

One And Just Like That… viewer’s fan fiction is getting New Yorkers’ attention as production is underway on Season 3.
Fake filming notices have begun popping up around New York City, and subsequently on social media, teasing some wild plot-lines that not even showrunner Michael Patrick King could likely fathom.
“Who is making these fake And Just Like That filming notices,’ wrote one NYC resident, sharing photos of the neon fliers on display, teasing this hotly-anticipated crossover: “After getting hit by a Citi Bike, Carrie retains Fletcher Reede (Jim Carrey) from Liar Liar as her lawyer.”
Another reads, “Carrie goes on a bad date with Mr. Bean (the character) and then accidentally sends him a nude.”
“At brunch with the girls, Carrie reveals that she is Garfield the cat,” reads one scene printed on multiple fliers posted online.

And just like that… Carrie Bradshaw was hit by a Citi Bike?
A series of fake filming notices for Max’s “And Just Like That” have been recently popping up in New York City. These notices, which are circulating on social media, feature bogus plot details about the upcoming third season of the “Sex and the City” reboot.
“After Getting Hit By A Citibike, Carrie Retains Fletcher Reede (Jim Carrey) From ‘Liar, Liar’ As Her Lawyer,” one filming notice reads.
Another includes a fake plot about Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) revealing to her friends that “she is Garfield the cat.”
In a different filming notice, the project details read: “Carrie Goes On A Bad Date With Mr. Bean (The Character) And Then Accidentally Sends Him A Nude.”

Look, there’s no way around this: August is a slow month for TV, and Netflix isn’t any different. Splashy fall TV is right around the corner, but August seems best designed to catch up on some of the best TV of the year so far that you may have missed.
It’s not a total wasteland, however: “Emily in Paris” returns this month for Season 4 Part 1. The internet loves to make fun of it, but the dreamed is truly one of the best brain-dead shows to watch when it’s too hot to do much of anything else. Lily Collins wears the most amazing outfits! There’s lots of kissing! Why do you think you’re better than it?! Much like other recent Netflix hits such as “Bridgerton,” “Emily in Paris” Season 4 will be divided into two parts, with Part 1 dropping August 15 and Part 2 debuting a month later.

Steven Moffat has been writing British television shows for a long time now. After a stint as a teacher in his earlier years, he broke into TV writing and proved to be very good at it. He was even made Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2015 for his services to drama, and that's an extremely high honor.
Most audiences will know Moffat best from Doctor Who, where he wrote plenty of what is widely considered the best episodes. But he's created many other shows as well. As is the case with any writer, not all of them are winners, but he's certainly done enough to mark him out as one of the most popular writers of his era.

Noel Fielding’s comedy series The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin has been renewed for a second series at Apple TV+, here are the details.
Noel Fielding, along with comedy partner Julian Barratt, blasted onto the UK comedy scene with double act The Mighty Boosh, which found success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1998. After that, it went to TV, with three series of what might be the most surreal, esoteric comedy ever broadcast on British television. All episodes were directed by Paul King, who went on to achieve national treasure status alongside Simon Farnaby for co-writing and directing the Paddington films and the recently released Wonka.
Fielding has had a steady career in British sitcoms ever since, appearing in the likes of Snuff Box, The It Crowd and headlining his own series Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy, last year he created and lead the cast of Apple...

Apple TV+ has given the green light to a second season of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, the comedy-adventure series starring Noel Fielding as a legendary British highwayman. The series debuted globally on Friday, March 1, 2024.
In the six-episode series, Dick Turpin (Fielding) sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws — and tasked with outwitting corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde (Hugh Bonneville).
In this irreverent retelling set in the 18th century, Turpin is the most famous but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mainly by his charm, showmanship, and great hair.
Together with his gang of lovable rogues, Turpin experiences the highs and lows of his new endeavors, including a brush with celebrity, while trying to escape the clutches of the thief-taker.

Warning: spoilers for all six episodes of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
When TV audiences first meet 17-year-old Pip Fitz-Amobi (Wednesday‘s Emma Myers), she’s carrying a copy of Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. Months later, like the titular heroine of that book, Pip discovers a woman kept secretly locked in an attic. Literary allusions are threaded through this modern whodunnit, from village tearoom The Moonstone sharing a name with Wilkie Collins’ classic detective novel, to Pip’s discovery of a hit-and-run plot and an overt reference to a story that hinges on one in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, to her sharing a name with the protagonist of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations.
Our Pip may not meet an escaped convict on the moors like her book namesake, but like him, she does question the nature of good and evil, and do plenty of soul-searching growing-up throughout her story.
