In a recent season 41 episode of Jeopardy!, a contestant seemed to develop a strategy when dealing with Daily Doubles. While this seemed to give the contestant an advantage, it failed to win the game in the end. However, the eventual winner would soon face a loss themselves.
The Game Proved To Be A Close One
During the past Wednesday episode, viewers saw the return of Ryan Manton on his third consecutive game. He competed against software developer Erin Ward and ER doctor Scott Tcheng. As the game went on, however, it seemed like the Daily Doubles would determine the winner of the day.
During the first such challenge, the Daily Double went to Manton, though we only wagered, and won, $1,000. By the end of the first round, the game was close with Manton and Tcheng tied at $5,800, with Ward at a close $3,600.

Today’s Final Jeopardy 10/2/2024 (Science) – Wednesday, 2 October 2024
Physicist John Wheeler said he coined this term as a faster way to say “completely collapsed objects”
Today’s Final Jeopardy Answer – Wednesday, 2 October 2024
The Final Jeopardy Answer is: Black Hole
Final Jeopardy Explanation – Wednesday, 2 October 2024
Physicist John Wheeler is credited with coining the term “black hole” as a faster and more accessible way to describe “completely collapsed gravitational objects.” Before Wheeler introduced this term in a 1967 lecture, these cosmic phenomena were typically referred to by the more cumbersome phrase. The term “black hole” quickly caught on due to its simplicity and vivid imagery, effectively conveying the concept of a region in space where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape from it.

"Journey to Babel" marked a rare on-screen appearance of the Federation founders: Earth, Vulcan, Tellar, and Andoria, on screen together. Star Trek: Enterprise established the Tellarites and Andorians as important co-founders of the Federation. Recent Star Trek shows like Prodigy have finally given significant roles to the Tellarites, Andorians alongside the regular Vulcan and Human characters.
It's surprisingly rare for all four founding members of the United Federation of Planets to appear on-screen together, but they did so in Star Trek: The Original Series season 2, episode 15, "Journey to Babel". Founded in 2161, the Federation was an interstellar union of planets based on shared principles and sought to further the universal rights of sentient life. Four planets founded Star Trek's Federation; Earth, Vulcan, Tellar, and Andoria. These four worlds previously formed a coalition during the Babel Crisis, which ultimately led to the Earth-Romulan War and the eventual founding of the United Federation of Planets.

Colin Krawchuck’s The Jester lends horror flicks a different and harrowing definition. Jester chronicles a sinister entity sporting an orange suit, a black hat, and clown makeup who kills people on Halloween Eve. However, evil does give his victims a chance to save their lives. From what it appears, Jester gives them a task, probably something like reflecting on past mistakes and making amends with their families. If they succeed, voila, they live to see another day, and if they don’t, Jester will kill them in a manner only he could think of. At the beginning of The Jester, we see a middle-aged man named John Wheeler (Matt Servitto) begging forgiveness from his daughter for what he did. Unfortunately, his daughter, Emma, was in no mood to hear him out. She disconnects the call, and with that, the man’s only hope of surviving.

The Titanic cast includes a slew of Oscar-winners along with many other accomplished characters actors. The dramatic acting complements director James Cameron's technical brilliance to make Titanic one of the most successful movies of all time. The period romantic drama fictionalizes the sinking of the titular ship in 1912 and the events preceding the disaster. The 11-time Oscar winner also goes on to explore themes like class differences and capitalistic greed apart from the central romance between its lead characters, Rose and Jack. The iconic protagonists made both Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio household names, paving the way for them to appear in many more acclaimed blockbusters.
As for the rest of the SAG Award-nominated ensemble, the 1997 movie boasts equally talented acting veterans who shine in their parts even with limited screen time. Titanic proved to be a career-high for all of its cast members given the movie's massive box-office success.

Origins is a recurring new music series that gives artists a platform to talk about everything that went into their newest release. Today, Rodrigo y Gabriela break down “Descending to Nowhere” from their upcoming album, In Between Thoughts…A New World.
Guitar virtuoso duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced their new album, In Between Thoughts…A New World, arriving April 21st via Ato Records. The first single, “Descending to Nowhere,” is out now with an accompanying music video.
The follow-up to 2019’s Grammy-winning Mettavolution was self-produced by Rodrigo y Gabriela at their studio in Ixtapa, Mexico. Inspired by nondualism after recovering from Covid, Rodrigo channeled his new discovery into the form of music.
“I found a video on nondualism that resonated a lot with me and it felt like a switch [turned on]. I started to introduce this concept to Gab and she was skeptical at first,” Rodrigo tells Consequence. “I didn...

A classic episode of Star Trek saw the USS Enterprise encounter a mysterious phenomenon called a "Dark Star," but it's actually a very familiar space phenomenon. One of Star Trek's most famous time travel episodes, "Tomorrow Is Yesterday," saw the USS Enterprise stranded in the 1960s. This was because of an encounter with a mysterious phenomenon called a black star, described as an undetectable stellar object which exerts a tremendous gravitational force. Modern viewers understandably assume the black star is fictional, but in reality it's a very familiar force.
The black star described in "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" is actually a black hole. Albert Einstein first predicted the existence of these back in 1916, as part of his General Theory of Relativity. They remained purely theoretical for decades, and were referred to by a number of different names - including "black star," which was a fairly common one. In 1967, the physicist...

Just in time for the spookiest holiday of the year, Netflix has released volume 2 of their hit reboot of Unsolved Mysteries. The second outing of the show features six new cases that include an unusual suicide, a supernatural phenomenon, an escaped fugitive that was never found and more. In other words, strap in for some unsettling stories that may very well keep you up at night.
Two particularly compelling episodes included in this volume are “Washington Inside Murder” and “Stolen Kids.” The former follows the unsolved mystery of White House aid John Wheeler, whose body was found in a landfill a decade ago, while the latter is the heartbreaking and chilling story of two Harlem toddlers who went missing around the same time in 1989. Both cases drew plenty of media attention as well, so it’s certain to be interesting to see what the show can tell us about the events all these years later.
