Brad Pitt is set to return to the big screen with the upcoming sports action filmF1. Pitt has been relatively active in the last few years, mostly overseeing film projects as a producer, but F1 marks his highly-hyped return in what could be one of the biggest films of the year. Pitt is going all-in on the project (he's also involved as a producer), but it wasn't an easy movie to make. According to director Joseph Kosinski, they only depended on one single thing to make the movie work: Brad Pitt had to learn to drive a Formula One car, a vehicle that can reach a speed of 230 mph.
F1 is directed by Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, the writer/director team behind Top Gun: Maverick, making F1 feel like Top Gun On Wheels. Joining Pitt in the film are actors Javier Bardem, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Shea Whigham,...

F1 director Joseph Kosinski explained why racing champion Lewis Hamilton was one of the key figures during the production of Apple Studios’ upcoming sports drama. Besides making an appearance in the Brad Pitt-led movie, Hamilton also serves as an executive producer.
Speaking with Screen Rant, Kosinski shared how much Hamilton helped them during the cast’s training and filming. He also revealed that the award-winning athlete was also very “instrumental” in the story’s formulation since he was able to offer his insights regarding the two main characters' storylines. "Lewis was instrumental in not only the technical aspects obviously, but in the real kind of formulative stage of the movie, formulating this narrative," he said. "We tell the story of Sonny Hayes, who's kind of veteran racer, and then Joshua Pierce, who's a rookie. Lewis has been both. He's been the rookie almost winning his first season in Formula...

Yellowstone has already created two spinoff series, 1923 and 1883, but there still doesn't seem to be enough bingeable shows set in the West. Luckily, Paramount+ has a hidden gem on the streaming service, which should give 1923 fans an extra show to watch. The series, called Lawmen: Bass Reeves, follows a historic U.S. marshal as he arrests outlaws west of the Mississippi River. The show was produced by Taylor Sheridan, creator of Yellowstone and 1923, and is quite similar to the rest of Sheridan's work.
The Series Is Based on a True Story

Netflix' Best Western Created One of 2025's Most Tragic Love Stories (& It's Not the One Fans Think)
Quick LinksWho Was American Primeval's Jacob Pratt? What Happened to Jacob and Abish?
The following contains spoilers for American Primeval, now streaming on Netlflix. It also contains a mention of suicide.
With Westerns like Yellowstone reigniting the genre for TV, Netflix decided to take things in a raw and unadulterated direction. The streamer achieves this with the shockingly gory American Primeval, which focuses on the 1850s and the Utah War.
The series depicts American soldiers, the Mormons and Natives battling for territory. Along the way, the show maps out one of the most tragic love stories of its genre. But it's not the one fans think is on top of the list. It's a darker story, focusing on Dane DeHaan's Jacob Pratt and his wife, Abish.

On Sunday, March 9, HBO’s Emmy Award-winning absurdist comedy series The Righteous Gemstones returns with its fourth and, sadly, final season. The show has followed the world famous religious media empire and its controlling, extremely wealthy, deeply southern family: televangelist patriarch Eli Gemstone (John Goodman) and his three grown, ridiculously immature, power-hungry children Jesse (Danny McBride), Kelvin (Adam Devine), and Judy (Edi Patterson).
The Gemstones might be rich and powerful, but their history is full of blood and secrets, a lot of which we saw last season. Before season 4 arrives, here are 6 key things to remember about The Righteous Gemstones season 3.
1. Cataclysmic changes in the church
After the secret-exposing antics of seasons 1 and 2, church numbers dwindled, as did Gemstone Ministries’ financial stability when key donors discontinued their contributions. In fact, they lost the support of their biggest donor, professional aging race car driver Dusty Daniels (Shea Whigham), who was a funny addition to season 3. Furthermore,...

After a short but sweet limited theatrical release at the end of last year, the Jeffrey Reiner (Friday Night Lights)-penned and directed production will finally be arriving on DVD and on demand tomorrow, March 4. With our exclusive sneak peek, audiences can sense the tenseness that Coon brings to her performance as a gangster’s girlfriend who finds that her own beloved partner has put a target on her head — it doesn’t get more toxic than that! Starring alongside Coon is Shea Whigham (American Primeval), who finds himself in between the unhappy couple as the man hired to pull the trigger.

Among HBO's vast, acclaimed body of work in the 21st century, one of the best is the Emmy-winning crime series Boardwalk Empire, which concluded just over 10 years ago. The iconic Steve Buscemi led its wildly talented ensemble cast that also included Gretchen Mol, whose morally complex character Gillian Darmody was one of the most memorable by the time the show bowed. MovieWeb recently spoke with Mol amidst the release of Millers in Marriage, her new ensemble drama film from writer-director Edward Burns. The talented actress reflected on her Boardwalk Empire experience and its impact on her career leading up to her latest project.
"It was just such a great time... Once you have that taste of great writing, it does just make you want to replicate it," Mol told us about her HBO series. "I think at that time, I knew how good it was, and I knew that it...

I can’t say I’m a big racing fan, but even I can admit that the glimpses we’ve seen of Joseph Kosinski’s F1 look quite amazing. If you’d like another look at the upcoming film, a behind-the-scenes video was released at the recent F1 75 Live season launch event at London’s The O2.
“You can talk about speed,” Kosinski said, “but we wanted to make audiences feel it.” The production used the “groundbreaking” camera technology they used on Top Gun: Maverick but “pushed it even further” for F1. The racing footage is incredibly thrilling, and even F1 driver Lewis Hamilton (who is a producer on the film) was blown away, saying, “The F1 movie is as authentic a racing movie has ever been.” You can check out the entire behind-the-scenes video for F1 above; it’s well worth the watch.

The Romantic-Comedy genre has served cheeseballs to audiences who have often flocked to them for a pat on the back for years. It has not only provided the audience with the much-needed hope that love is around the corner but has also entertained them with neatly packed humor that makes a dolly out of life’s most lovable moments. However, with changing times, the genre has undergone a makeover of sorts. More films have established the idea of a rom-com but have twisted the narrative to serve the greater good. Subverting the genre has thus become a common trait. Indie films of late have often done wonders within the genre itself. The best romantic comedy movies of the decade have thus come out from the indie cinema. 24 of those are as follows:

Revving into theaters on June 27, 2025, “F1” features Brad Pitt as retired Formula One driver Sonny Hayes, whose exit from the sport came as a result of a horrific crash. Brought back to train and drive alongside a rookie prodigy (Damson Idris) by his friend and Apex Grand Prix team owner (Javier Bardem), Hayes doesn’t merely want to return to the sport, but upend it entirely.
“F1” comes from much of the same team behind the 2022 Tom Cruise hit “Top Gun: Maverick,” including director Joseph Kosinski, screenwriter Ehren Kruger, composer Hans Zimmer, cinematographer Claudio Miranda, and producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman. Pitt also serves as a producer alongside his Plan B partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Paramount Pictures has released the "Big Game" TV spot Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and, after celebrating the franchise's past, we see more of what appears to be Tom Cruise's last mission as the iconic Ethan Hunt.
If so, the actor will go out on a high, especially if the stunts teased here are any indication of what to expect from the movie. We also see the returning characters who will be at Hunt's side, with Pom Klementieff's fan-favourite assassin, Paris, among them.
Despite reports that, like its predecessor, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning's budget has spiralled out of control, all signs point to it being money well spent.
Whether it will be a bigger draw than 2023's Dead Reckoning - Part One ("Part Two" was dropped from this movie's title before it was renamed The Final Reckoning) remains to be seen.

You can depend on a few things happening during the Super Bowl – two titans of football colliding (in this case the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles), commercials featuring big-time movie stars and, of course, movie trailers for some of the year’s most highly anticipated titles.
And this year, Super Bowl Lix was no different.
If you’re looking for all of the Super Bowl trailers in one place, we’ve got you covered, with an updated list below.
“Jurassic World Rebirth”
Sure, a new “Jurassic World Rebirth” spot aired before kick-off, but we aren’t holding that against them. This new “Jurassic World” installment, the first since 2022’s “Jurassic World Dominion” closed off that trilogy, features Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey and Rupert Friend. But we’re really pumped that this installment is bringing back writer David Koepp, who adapted Michael Crichton’s novel for Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park,...

It’s been a turbulent flight getting here, but we’ve finally got the trailer for “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” (fka “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two” and colloquially known as “Mission: Impossible 8”). Thank goodness Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) can still sprint.
In “M:i 8,” Hunt needs his team to trust him “one last time.“
In the trailer, which is shown in ultra wide format, we see Hunt — as one has come to expect — running very fast. It also features footage of the sunken submarine that kicks off the events of “Mission Impossible — Dead Reckoning,” as well as a callback to the first film that even many who haven’t seen it are more than likely familiar with. As previously teased, the big stunt for this entry will involve Cruise hanging outside of a functioning 1930s biplane, shots of which are also seen in the teaser.

“Mission: Impossible” star Tom Cruise pumped up the Super Bowl crowd during Fox’s Super Bowl pregame show on Sunday ahead of the showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Tonight in New Orleans we encounter a mission that doesn’t come along very often. Standing in front of this final act knowing that the long winding road here has all led to this. Everything this sport has seen and done, every first, every mountain climbed, every seemingly impossible conquered, yet there’s always another accomplishment never achieved. There’s always new heights waiting to be reached,” he said in the ad. “I look closely at these fierce competitors and I don’t see fear or hesitation, I see the very best in the world. “I need you to trust me — one last time.”
That’s Tom Cruise begging his fellow Imf teammates to go on one more death-defying expedition to save the world in a new action-packed Super Bowl trailer for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.” Paramount Pictures will release the film, which is being billed as Cruise’s final outing as super-spy Ethan Hunt, in theaters on May 23.
The spot doesn’t stint on the crazy stunts that have become the franchise’s signature. At one point, Cruise dangles upside down from a plane, clinging on for dear life. Cruise is no slouch when it comes to risking it all on screen, having previously scaled the side of the Burj Khalifa and piloted a motorcycle off a cliff. But even he seemed to think his latest stunt pushed the limits.

There was a teaser for “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” at the big game in 2018. And in the lead-up to Sunday’s Super Bowl Lix game, there were several sizzles and behind-the-scenes clips from the upcoming “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.”
All of that led to the big game spot, which you can watch below:
Christopher McQuarrie, who has directed every “Mission” movie since “Rogue Nation,” is back in the director’s chair this time around for a sequel that went through a bit of an evolution.
Initially, “Mission: Impossible 7” and “Mission: Impossible 8” were shot back-to-back and titled “Dead Reckoning – Part One” and “Dead Reckoning – Part Two.” But after the disappointing box office performance of the seventh film, it was retitled for home release to just “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” and “M:i 8” got a new title. Thus, “The Final Reckoning” was born.

Brad Pitt narrated a moving TV ad during Fox’s pre-game show on Sunday ahead of the showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The TV ad championed the resilience of people after the Los Angeles fires and Hurricane Helene.
“By lifting others, that’s how we rise up. We, the people. Today we come together, not just these players and coaches or these teams and sides. We, all of us, the dreamers, the warriors, the builders and believers,” Pitt said. “Brought together to celebrate our greatest game, the game that teaches us what we can achieve when we gather together in a that most American of formations, the one most fundamental to every play call in every game, the huddle. Warner Bros., Apple Original Films, and Brad Pitt got the adrenaline rushing early on Super Bowl Sunday with a new teaser for Pitt’s upcoming racing blockbuster, F1.
Apple produced the film, and Warner Bros. will distribute it in theaters this summer. F1 is Joseph Kosinski’s follow-up to Top Gun: Maverick. As with that film, F1 focuses on an aging character who was once at the top of his field (Pitt) who returns to the heat of competition to help mentor a younger cohort (Damson Idris). Kosinski shot the film during actual Grand Prix events, and several real-life drivers — including Lewis Hamilton — will make appearances.
In addition to Pitt and Idris, the film also stars Oscar winner Javier Bardem, Emmy winner Tobias Menzies, Oscar nominee Kerry Condon, Emmy nominee Sarah Niles, and Shea Whigham. Among the notable creatives who worked with Kosinski on the project are Top Gun: Maverick...

The upcoming production by Jerry Bruckheimer alongside Apple Studios and Warner Bros.,F1, has just released its first full trailer and things are looking amazing for Brad Pitt and Joseph Kosinki's high octane project. The racing film promises to be a groundbreaking movie experience designed by a director who doesn't spare any expense in trying to make a memorable film. Let's not forget what he and Tom Cruise accomplished with Top Gun: Maverick in terms of flying jets. F1 could be a similar film, only this time it'll involve cars that can reach speeds of up to 234.9mph. And we all know CGI is a secondary resource for Kosinski.
In an interview with Deadline, producing partners Jerry Bruckheimer and Kosinski shared some details about F1, their shooting methods, as well as the participation of real Formula One drivers in the production. What stands out is that, unlike projects like Top Gun: Maverick...

Ethan Hunt has been saving the world for nearly thirty years, but will Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning be his last mission? There have been rumblings that Tom Cruise may call it quits with The Final Reckoning, but if that’s the case, neither he nor director Christopher McQuarrie are prepared to confirm it… yet.
“You gotta see the movie,” Cruise told Empire when they tried to get an answer out of him. “It’s a hard thing for me to discuss at the moment, because it really is something that you have to experience.” The actor added that The Final Reckoning will be “an epic, emotional journey of the entire franchise.“
McQuarrie also wasn’t willing to confirm anything but did say that the film will be “the satisfying conclusion to a 30-year story arc. I’m pretty confident that people are going to feel that the title was appropriate.

Will this year’s eighth Mission: Impossible movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, actually live up to its title and be the final outing in the iconic action franchise? While the recent trailer for the movie certainly hinted that this is the case, with the footage teasing all manner of Easter eggs and finding Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt asking his team to trust him "one last time," it has not been confirmed that this will indeed be the last hurrah for Hunt. Now, director Christopher McQuarrie has chimed in... and suggests that, yes, this is the end of the line.
Speaking with Empire, McQuarrie called Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning the “conclusion” to Ethan Hunt’s arc. Which first began in Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible way, way back in 1996.

For whatever reason, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One wasn't the hit we expected in 2023. The movie grossed $570.6 million worldwide on a reported $291 million budget, meaning it was considered a financial disappointment by Paramount Pictures.
Tom Cruise reportedly clashed with studio executives while shooting that and the upcoming Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. The movie is being marketed as the actor's final turn as Ethan Hunt (which seems likely now the actor has signed a deal with Warner Bros.). However, Cruise is said to be unhappy about that as he wants to at least keep the door open to returning.
If James Bond can die (which he did in No Time to Die), is the clock counting down on Hunt?
Talking to Empire Online (via ActioNewz.com), Cruise said, "You gotta see the movie [Laughs]. It’s a hard thing for me to discuss at the moment, because it...

Tom Cruise has risked life and limb to entertain us for decades. He has scrambled up the side of the Burj Khalifa, driven a motorcycle off a cliff, and flown fighter jets. However, the upcoming Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning sounds like it will feature stunts that even put Cruise to the test.
One of the stunts in The Final Reckoning finds Cruise clinging to the wing of a biplane as it zips through the air at 10,000 feet, and the actor told Empire that it actually caused him to pass out on several occasions. “When you stick your face out, going over 120 to 130 miles an hour, you’re not getting oxygen,” Cruise said. “So I had to train myself how to breathe. There were times I would pass out physically; I was unable to get back into the cockpit.” That sounds terrifying.
Director Christopher McQuarrie added, “There are stunts in...

When Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One opened in 2023, it was widely considered a financial disappointment, even with a worldwide box office haul of $570.6 million (the biggest issue was that it greatly underperformed domestically).
Not helping matters, of course, was the fact its budget ballooned to a reported $291 million, a staggering sum thought to have done irreparable damage to Tom Cruise's relationship with Paramount Pictures.
The studio dropped the "Dead Reckoning Part Two" subtitle from the sequel a while ago and has instead decided to market the movie as Ethan Hunt's final adventure. Hence, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
Rumour has it Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning's budget has rocketed to $400 million amid various production delays, largely caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Thanks to Empire (via ActioNewz.com), we know where at least some of that money went: more insane stunts!

Since the end of Game of Thrones, creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss have focused much of their energy on 3 Body Problem, an ambitious, challenging sci-fi series on Netflix. But while we wait for the second season of that show, they're serving as executive producers on a couple others. That includes Death By Lightning, based on the 2011 novel Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President by Candice Miller.
Death by Lightning (a much shorter but still punchy title) is about the 20th president of the United States, James Garfield. He was inaugurated as president in 1881, a time when the country was still healing from the wounds of the Civil War. He was considered effective, but was assassinated just nine months into his term.

Sunrise on the Reaping, publishing on March 18, is the anticipated new novel in the worldwide bestselling The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins. The book will take place in the world of Panem 24 years prior to the events of The Hunger Games, on the morning reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the second Quarter Quell.
The 50th Hunger Games are noteworthy given that the victor was Haymitch Abernathy, the only winner from District 12 prior to Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark’s win years later. Haymitch, who like all victors went on to become a mentor to tributes from his district, was played by Woody Harrelson in the Hunger Games film adaptations.
A feature film adaptation of Sunrise on the Reaping will be released by Lionsgate on Nov.

Let us put our hands together and bow our heads in silence as we reflect on the news that The Righteous Gemstones will end with Season 4 at HBO. The network renewed the sinfully funny comedy series in July 2023, but complications from the SAG-AFTRA strikes kept the team from rolling cameras. The final episodes of the series begin streaming in March.
“The Lord spoke to me and said it’s time to wrap this sucker up,” series creator and star Danny McBride said. “The story this season made the themes, ideas, and characters in ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ feel whole and complete.
