Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Natalie Morales bid farewell to “The Talk” on Friday as the CBS daytime show aired its series finale after 15 seasons.

Kloots, in particular, found herself tearing up over the emotional episode, as she offered a message to their loyal audience through tears.

“I live with a child, you know, so coming here every day and being able to talk to five, or four people, obviously — five, I’ll include you guys [the audience], cause you’re a part of it — about really fun, silly topics to important topics, but to be able to talk … I’m so grateful for that,” she shared. “I think we can’t forget that. Listen to each other, talk to one another, don’t fight with each other, really appreciate each other’s opinions, because that’s what we got to do everyday. And it was so beautiful.

After 15 seasons (“2,993 episodes to be exact,” according to co-host Natalie Morales), CBS aired its final episode of The Talk on Friday, and the gang did not go quietly.

Amanda Kloots, who became a co-host in 2021 when The Talk was still being done over Zoom, was the first to break down as she reflected on what the show — specifically its title — has meant to her over the years.

The first season of CBB USA was in Winter 2018. It featured actress Shannon Elizabeth, Keshia Knight Pulliam from The Cosby Show, singer Mark McGrath, UFC fighter Chuck Liddell, and NBA star Metta World Peace.

Broadway actress Marissa Jaret Winokur won that first season, with television host Ross Mathews finishing as the runner-up.

Steven Simon of Landis Simon Management & Productions passed away on Sunday. According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner, Simon, who had hypertensive heart disease, died of natural causes. He was 55.

Simon had a long career championing kids for TV, film and musical theater. He helped shepherd Me, Earl and The Dying Girl’s Rj Cyler, Supergirl’s Nicole Maines, Tony Award Winner Marissa Jaret Winokur, Kyla Pratt, Robert Ri’chard and writer/director Ron Carlson, among others.

Simon got his start in reality casting before to shifting to agency work at Acme Talent and Literary where he became head of Acme Kids.

In 2011 he and Judy Landis, with whom Simon had worked on many projects over the decades, decided to join forces and start Landis-Simon Management & Productions.

Peacock’s ordering more of Bupkis, giving the half-hour comedy series a season two order. The first season premiered on May 4, 2023 with the release of all eight episodes. Peacock didn’t confirm when fans can expect the just-announced second season to debut.

Even though Pete Davidson’s “Saturday Night Live” cast member days are over, his tight-knit relationship with NBC has continued to grow and evolve this year with the premiere of his new comedy series “Bupkis.”

The full first season was released on Peacock on May 4 to critical acclaim, but ahead of Emmys voting, the streamer is taking advantage of the wide-cast NBCUniversal net by making the second episode of “Bupkis,” one of its most praised, available for more viewers. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike might be a good thing for fans of Big Brother, as CBS is considering adding a Celebrity All-Stars season to its lineup. Celebrity Big Brother is a spin-off of the classic reality show that premiered in 2018. With host Julie Chen Moonves, the show casts celebrities in a shortened version of the game. Winners of the three Celebrity Big Brother seasons include Marissa Jaret Winokur, Tamar Braxton, and Miesha Tate.

According to CinemaBlend, due to the WGA strike, CBS is considering airing a Celebrity All-Stars version of Big Brother. This installment would air after Big Brother season 25, presumably in the fall or winter. It would take the place of scripted television that will be delayed because of the strike.

Celebrity Big Brother aired in 2018 and 2019, and returned in 2022, presumably taking a hiatus because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to plan, Pete Davidson was supposed to have made his triumphant return to Rockefeller Center’s Studio 8H this weekend for his debut as “Saturday Night Live” host.

Because of the Writers Guild of America strike, however, Davidson’s “SNL” return will have to wait, since it’s among the many shows that gave gone dark after the Writers Guild of America went on strike May 1.

Davidson is using his free time to show his support of the WGA, by joining writers picketing outside Silvercup Studios in Brooklyn.

For the first time in three years, Celebrity Big Brother didn't return for a brand-new season this winter, but there are many stars who should join if it ever comes back. The celebrity rendition of the show debuted in 2018 when a group of 11 stars moved into the famous house for a shortened version of the competition series. The show later returned for two more consecutive seasons.

Last winter, Miesha Tate took home the grand prize for Celebrity Big Brother season 3. Prior to her win, actress Marissa Jaret Winokur and singer Tamar Braxton also took home the win for their respective seasons. The show has cast all different types of celebrities, from actresses to athletes, and even well-known politicians. Although there have been some popular celebs to compete on the show, these A-list stars should take on the competition.

One day after Pete Davidson debuted a teaser trailer for “Bupkis” during an interview with Charlamagne tha God on “The Breakfast Club,” Peacock revealed the official trailer for the upcoming comedy series.

The official trailer differs from the tease Davidson shared earlier in the week but gets across the same broad strokes: “Bupkis” stars Davidson as a version of himself with Edie Falco as his mom and Joe Pesci in his first television role in decades as Davidson’s grandfather. Pete Davidson is struggling in the official trailer for Bupkis, a new Peacock original comedy series.

The series is a new comedy following Davidson as he attempts to work through unique family dynamics and the complexities of fame to form meaningful relationships.

"The raw, semi-autobiographical series stars Davidson, Edie Falco, and Joe Pesci alongside a star studded supporting cast in a show that straddles reality and absurdity to best represent what it is to be Pete Davidson," the streaming service teases.

Pete Davidson is just as famous for his personal life as his acting career, so it’s only fitting that his first leading television role sees him playing himself. The upcoming Peacock comedy “Bupkis” stars Davidson as Davidson, parodying the surreal levels of fame he has achieved in recent years with the help of some A-list friends.

The show is similar to Davidson’s 2020 film “The King of Staten Island,” which was directed by Judd Apatow and saw the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member in a role heavily inspired by his own background. Unlike that film though, “Bupkis” sees Davidson explicitly play a fictionalized version of himself, juggling acting roles, antics in the celebrity world, tabloid rumors, and his relationships with his working class family from Staten Island.

The trailer features many nods to real life tabloid stories and rumors involving Davidson, including his sister complaining about speculation about the star’s penis size.

Pete Davidson may only be 29 years old, but the former Saturday Night Live star and perpetual tabloid obsession already has a comedy series based on his life.

The trailer also features the comedian jumping into a grave and taking a high-speed joy ride with Bobby Cannavale. And screaming, lots of screaming.

“You run around like a kid and you’re not a kid anymore, you’re a man,” says Joe Pesci, who plays his grandfather, while Edie Falco, who plays his mother, tells him it’s not easy being his mom. His therapist (played by Charlie Day) also tells ‘”Bupkis” Pete, “You don’t exactly lead a quiet life.”

A fourth season of Celebrity Big Brother has not been announced yet, but perhaps the franchise should take a different direction and give fans a shortened Big Brother legends season instead. UK-based sales and distribution firm 101 Films International has acquired world sales rights excluding the US for Christmas feature Santa Bootcamp starring West Side Story’s Rita Moreno.

101 will launch sales on the film at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival. The completed film is scheduled for delivery by the end of October this year. It is set to air as a Liftetime film in the US during the 2022 holiday season.

Actress Rita Moreno is set to star in the Lifetime Christmas movie, Santa Bootcamp. The film also serves as Melissa Joan Hart’s fourth directorial project for the network.
