The Young and the Restless is bringing back an original cast member, with her appearance the first she’ll make on the daytime soap opera since 2018. Janice Lynde will be reprising her role as world-renowned pianist Leslie Brooks when she makes a return visit to the soap. She will be appearing in multiple episodes in the middle of October. Lauren Woodland and Kelly Kruger start taping again soon and will be around for an “indefinite” time. Next Monday, March 26, will mark 45 years since The Young and the Restless premiered. To mark the milestone, television's most-watched daytime drama is treating viewers to a week of epic episodes full of high-stakes drama, romance and compelling character returns.
"The Young and the Restless will celebrate its 45th anniversary by proudly looking back at the rich history of the show while propelling our characters into exciting new stories," said executive producer and head writer Mal Young. "Viewers will be treated to a week-long, can't-miss-a-minute celebration as storylines take unexpected turns and we welcome faces from the past."
During the week of March 26-30, fans can expect a number of buzzworthy developments. Among them:
• The long-running feud between Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) reaches its breaking point, irrevocably changing the lives of both men.

Daytime Emmy-nominated actress Lauren Woodland is latest former cast member slated to visit CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless during the show's upcoming 45th anniversary celebration.
Woodland, who played bad girl Brittany Hodges from 2000-2005, will join Kelly Kruger (Mac), David Lago (Raul), Jaime Lyn Bauer (Lorie) and Meg Bennett (Julia) for a short-term return.
The Young and the Restless premiered on March 26, 1973.

Daytime Emmy winner David Lago (who played Raul Guittierez), Lauren Woodland (who played Brittany Hodges) and Kelly Kruger (who played Mackenzie Browning) all are set to return to the CBS soap opera this March, according to SoapOperaDigest.com and SoapsInDepth.com.
As previously reported, Y&R alumni Jaime Lyn Bauer and Janice Lynde will reprise their roles as Lorie and Leslie Brooks, while Meg Bennett will be returning for the special occasion as Julia Newman.

Deadline reports Jeff Nichols is slated to direct an upcoming film adaptation of the cancelled Fox TV series.Based on the 1988 movie starring James Caan, the sci-fi drama followed a Lapd officer is paired with an alien new to Earth.
