Babak Anvari is set to direct a new sequel to Cloverfield, which is reportedly a direct sequel to Matt Reeves’s original 2008 film.
In a new interview during the SXSW premiere of his latest film Hallow Road, Anvari teased the new sequel.
“So sad that I cannot because everyone on that team is very secretive, which I understand,” Anvari told Countdown City Geeks. “But whatever happens, just know that hopefully you’re going to get something amazing.”
Although Anvari didn’t disclose any details about the follow-up film, he did express his excitement about the project as “high.”
Deadline reported in December 2022 that Anvari was attached to direct the new Cloverfield movie with Joe Barton writing the script, J.J. Abrams producing for Bad Robot, along with Hannah Minghella and Jon Cohen. Bryan Burk, Matt Reeves, and Drew Goddard are also attached as executive producers.

There are only two young actors that director Steven C. Miller truly sees as emerging into great action heroes in the near future: Dylan Sprouse and Mason Gooding. Miller, whose action-horror film Werewolves debuts Dec. 6, directs Sprouse & Gooding in Under Fire, an upcoming film that tracks two very different men undercover — a DEA agent named Abbott (Sprouse) and an FBI agent called Griff (Gooding). They pose as rival drug dealers at the Mexico border. Miller, who recently spoke to MovieWeb about his new film, is confident Sprouse and Gooding will surprise audiences and be breakout stars in the action genre, noting:
“You kind of get those vibes with certain actors that you're like, ‘Okay, these guys have that potential to be action stars.' And they do. They just… their vibe, their presence on screen… when you put the camera onto them and how they look on camera… there's just...

Monster movies have long held a captivating place in the landscape of cinema, offering audiences a thrilling escape into worlds inhabited by the unknown and the extraordinary. From the classic black-and-white horrors of the early 20th century to the CGI-enhanced spectacles of modern filmmaking, these films tap into primal fears and societal anxieties, reflecting cultural attitudes and human experiences. At their core, monster movies explore themes of fear, isolation, and the struggle between humanity and the monstrous “other.” Whether depicting the terror of werewolves or killer space aliens or the tragic story of a misunderstood beast, these films serve as a canvas for filmmakers to examine what it means to be human.

Dave Annable on Making High-Stakes Sacrifices in ‘Lioness’ and His Ride as a Dutton on ‘Yellowstone’
Dave Annable understands the concept well that through some of life’s horrific tragedies come born-again moments that create the strongest bonds between family and friends. This theory has proven true in both his real life and in his Hollywood acting career.
One real-life scenario that tested this theory for Annable happened on Sept. 11, 2001.
“I was there in New York, I was in the city, and I mean…the craziest,” Annable recalls about 9/11. “I went down to volunteer and ended up staying until 2 or 3 a.m., and then obviously they couldn’t use us because there was nothing for us to do, for any volunteers. I didn’t know anybody in Manhattan who I could stay with; none of the phones were working. This one girl I met, we were going to go on our first date that night. So, I ended up walking up to Fordham [in the Bronx], like 60 or 70 blocks.

House was a medical procedural drama that followed Doctor Gregory House as he dealt with some of the most intriguing and complex medical mysteries. Gregory House was the Head of Diagnostic Medicine at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. House had many different doctors on his team throughout the eight seasons of House MD, with some doctors staying only for a short period, while others left and came back multiple times. Many fans strongly feel attached to House's original team, consisting of doctors Foreman, Cameron, and Chase. Others believe that the new doctors, Thirteen, Kutner, and Taub, were the best.
The medical mysteries in House MD required the doctors on House's team to go far and beyond what any regular doctor would do. Some of the doctors on House's team had a harder time dealing with the stress and pressure, as well as House's unique approach to medicine. Others thrived under House's guidance,...

Cloverfield is a found-footage film that chronicles a group of friends as they embark on a rescue mission through New York City during a rampaging monster attack. As the group of New Yorkers enjoy a going-away party, the night quickly descends into madness as a dangerous threat wreaks havoc on the Big Apple. Suddenly, a creature the size of a skyscraper terrorizes the city, leaving death and destruction in its wake. Directed by Matt Reeves, now famously known for his work on The Batman, and written by Daredevil creator Drew Goddard, Cloverfield uses a point-of-view film style to immerse the audience directly into the chaos ensuing in New York City.
Released in 2008, Cloverfield was an instant box office success. Produced on a modest $25 million budget, the sci-fi thriller earned over six times its budget grossing $172 million worldwide. The film's immense box office success is largely attributed to its innovative marketing campaign.

One of the stars of House, the popular medical drama series that ran for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012, isnt ruling out reviving the series. Peter Jacobson, who played Dr. Chris Taub, in the series, told Screen Rant that now may be a good time for the series to come back to television.
It makes more sense now than it did 10 years ago, to do a House reboot, Jacobson said, adding he thinks a revival would get just a whole new generation of people who really love that show. Jacobson said the variety of storylines in the series would help to make reviving the show something that is feasible because theres a lot more to tell if they want to tell it.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “See You Sometime,” the series finale of The CW’s “Walker.”
In 2000, at the age of 17, Jared Padalecki landed the role of Dean Forester, the first love of Alexis Bledel’s Rory Gilmore, on the hit family dramedy series “Gilmore Girls.” Originally contracted for only four episodes, Padalecki went on to appear in the first five seasons of “Gilmore” and then booked “Supernatural” — both of which debuted on The WB before surviving the transition to The CW in 2006.
For the better part of the next two decades, Padalecki would emerge as the face of The CW. After playing Sam Winchester — one-half of a dynamic duo of monster-hunting brothers — for 15 seasons on “Supernatural,” the actor became the star and executive producer of “Walker,” a modern-day reimagining of the hit ’90s series that featured Chuck Norris as a high-kicking Texas Ranger. Lisa Edelstein shared thoughts on a House revival, acknowledging a shift in TV culture and the show's continued popularity among young viewers. Bringing back House would be tricky given the finale's conclusion - the absence of key characters and complex narratives would pose challenges. It may be best for fans to enjoy the original House series on streaming platforms rather than hoping for a revival that could struggle to capture the essence of the original.

House's team brought unique strengths and sensibilities to the table, helping viewers relate to the brilliant medical drama. New characters like Jessica Adams and Chi Park added depth, showcasing their impressive abilities and independence. Each member of House's team, like Eric Foreman and Chris Taub, had their own growth arcs, evolving from their initial personas.

“Walker” has been canceled at The CW after four seasons, Variety has learned.
“We want to thank the entire cast, crew, writers, directors and producers of ‘Walker’ for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons,” The CW said in a statement. “We also want to give a special thanks to star and executive producer Jared Padalecki, who has been a member of The CW family for over 20 years and was integral to some of the biggest hits on the network.”
The move to cancel the show is not surprising, as it was one of the few remaining original series that predated Nexstar taking over The CW. The network’s new owners have largely done away with original scripted series, opting instead to focus on low-cost foreign imports and co-productions as well as sports and unscripted series.

Cuddy's relationship with House was foreshadowed in early seasons, leading to her ultimate departure in Season 7. From supporting House's methods to his drug addictions, Cuddy's character arc is intricately tied to House's relationship with painkillers in the series. Intimate history, romantic entanglements, and struggles with sobriety make House and Cuddy's dynamic the heart of the show.
While the medical drama House M.D. remains popular 20 years after its debut, many fans have never gotten over the premature departure of Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). Yet, looking back at the whole series, early hints and clues alluding to Cuddy's fate can be spotted in the first season of the hit Fox drama. In particular, Cuddy's professional and romantic relationship with Dr. Greg House (Hugh Laurie) toed the line of medical ethics from day one, a thematic motif that continued until Cuddy's abrupt departure at the end of Season 7.

House M.D is a standout medical drama with unique cases, strong characterization, and a complex protagonist. Hugh Laurie's portrayal of Dr. House is iconic, embodying a realistic character with sarcastic genius and deep flaws. The series balances episodic storytelling with long-running character arcs, creating a compelling blend of medical mysteries and dramatic developments.
When you think of the best medical TV drama series, there are a few that may come to mind: ER, The Good Doctor, Scrubs, or even ABC's longest-running series, Grey's Anatomy. While those are all great medical dramas, the best one is arguably House. Running from 2004 to 2012, the Fox hit show followed the pill-popping, narcissistic Dr. Gregory House, played by Hugh Laurie, who is the head of the Diagnostics department at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey.

Fan theory suggests House died in the blaze in the finale, prompting debate about the show's ambiguous ending. Evidence from the episode, including Wilson's hallucinations, supports the theory that House faked his death. Series creator David Shore has confirmed House faked his death, but clues continue to fuel speculation among fans.
Twelve years after House M.D. was canceled by Fox, fans continue to theorize about the fateful series finale. In the mysterious final chapter of the hit medical drama, "Everybody Dies," embattled surgeon Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) fakes his death after waking up in a burning building. Medical dramas like House provide engaging human-interest stories with realistic medical accuracy. House's collaborative approach to medicine showcased various specialties, allowing each character to shine. The specificity of medical specialties on TV matters, with characters like House and his team reflecting real-life medical practices.
Audiences crave medical dramas, and for good reason. They're fast-paced, human-interest pieces, with a smidge of realism and a concrete life-or-death ending by the end of the hour. Beyond the sticky medical situations and steam-filled interoffice romance, audiences, particularly modern ones, have come to crave a bit more with their medicine — accuracy. Attention to detail has become more of a trend as of late, but it is far from an old one. One show in particular did this well. That show is House.
Beyond the shenanigans of the ill-mannered titular character, one key aspect of House that stands out is its highly collaborative approach to medicine.

Producers purposely ended House M.D. after Season 8 to maintain quality and respect for the title character. Universal TV wanted a Season 9, but Fox wanted fewer episodes due to high production costs. Despite negotiations, conflicts over production costs and episode numbers led to the cancellation of House M.D.
Created by David Shore, House M.D. premiered on Fox in 2004 and became an instant hit for the network. The series follows the personal and professional life of Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), a grumpy misanthropic surgeon who, despite his brilliant medical mind and radical methods, grapples with clinical depression, substance abuse, and long-term hallucinations. The show became a critical and commercial success, lasting for 177 episodes over 8 seasons and garnering several awards and accolades, including five Primetime Emmy Awards.

Walker is one of the few shows on The CW from an earlier regime, back when the network catered to younger audiences.
Of course, the series skews older than The CW’s typical series, which probably explains why it survived when the network’s younger-skewing fare like Charmed, Dynasty, Legacies, and Nancy Drew all got the pink slip.
Walker, a reboot of the successful Walker, Texas Ranger, has managed to break through as a reboot because it has brought plenty of contemporary storylines to a format that worked well not so long ago.
As we delve into Walker Season 4, the series is at a tipping point because it will be judged more harshly than some other offerings, such as Wild Cards, which has performed admirably as a co-production.
Plenty of details have emerged about Walker Season 4, but we don’t want you to do all the digging for intel.
