Two decades after the debut of House M.D., creator David Shore is keeping the door open for a potential revival. Making that happen, however, would require certain conditions to be met.

Shore opened up about House in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. In the series finale, House (Hugh Laurie) faked his death and was last seen going on a motorcycle road trip with Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), whose cancer diagnosis left him with a handful of months to live. Over 12 years after the final House episode aired, Shore was asked about what House is up to in 2024. House creator David Shore has finally given a definitive response to the ending's big Foreman question, 12 years after the series finale aired. House's best episodes are scattered throughout its eight-season run, with the series finale, titled "Everybody Dies," being particularly memorable. The final episode ends with House (Hugh Laurie) and Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) riding off together after the protagonist fakes his own death. However, one final scene in a montage sequence shows Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps) finding the main character's hospital ID, seemingly his way of telling him he's still alive.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Shore confirmed that House's last scene with Foreman was meant to tell the Dean of Medicine that his former boss was still alive. He also confirmed what the small smile on his face meant in the final scene, definitively closing the book on his reaction over 12 years after the episode aired.

In House, Edelstein played Dr. Lisa Cuddy in seven of the show's eight total seasons. While at the Tribeca Film Festival, Edelstein spoke with Screen Rant about the series possibly returning. While she's not sure that a revival will ever happen, she believes that it helps that people are clamoring for more politically incorrect programming, as that's how things were when House first debuted in 2004.

A House revival is still a possibility, but its future is complicated. The medical drama, which premiered in 2004, starred Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House, alongside Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, and Lisa Edelstein. In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant at the Tribeca Film Festival, Edelstein, who played Dr. Lisa Cuddy, spoke about the potential for a reboot.

“When we started season two, we weren’t quite sure where it was going or where it was going to end,” confesses Harry Gregson-Williams about how much he knew of the rich story arcs of the second season of “The Gilded Age.” He and his brother Rupert Gregson-Williams are the composers of the HBO drama series, which he calls a “rich character piece.” Rupert was indeed excited to see how “smaller characters in the first season” would emerge as “major players in the second,” which required new musical cues. Though the brothers were not fully aware of where the story was heading in the latest batch of episodes, they knew that the score of the show would become “a bit richer” because, as Rupert says, “the Russells are now richer, and we’ve become confident with them and their new role as leaders of society.
