1923 Season 2, Episode 5, titled “Only Gunshots to Guide Us,” is a Brandon Sklenar and Julia Schlaepfer episode, in which they play Spencer and Alexandra, respectively. The chapter continues to depict their struggle—like a dream where you try to reach your destination, but it never ends. The writing is designed to highlight the depth of their love.
In this episode, Taylor Sheridan delves deeper into character development and places them in harm’s way. Surprisingly, after heavy focus on these stars in previous weeks, the episode does not include contributions from Harrison Ford’s Jacob or Helen Mirren’s Cara. At least we get a break from Elizabeth (Landman’s Michelle Randolph) encountering a wolf, a mountain lion, and, I imagine, a giant moose in the coming weeks.

There’s a lot to love about Cosmatos’ 1993 Western icon, Tombstone. The genre-defining drama brings everything to the table, and it does it all with skillful aplomb. It has all the action of a heart-pounding action film with the heart and soul of a frontier drama. Romance and shootouts coexist within a vivid recreation of the American West. Even now, decades after its debut, Tombstone has a chokehold on Western fans. Its sweeping visuals and all-consuming authenticity have yet to meet a worthwhile opponent.
Of course, most of Tombstone's appeal comes from its actors. The star-studded lineup is filled with “perfect matches,” and everyone fulfills their role beautifully. It’s hard to imagine anything different, but it’s easy to imagine that Tombstone is a true window to the past. Everything feels so vividly real. Every detail is precisely calculated for maximum impact, and every acting choice is driven by the utmost professionalism.

"Landman" was one of the biggest breakout streaming TV hits of 2024. That probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise, as this is just the latest series to come from the mind of "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan, who has built himself quite the media empire. Airing on Paramount+, his latest show isn't connected to Paramount's flagship Western series, but it is certainly not lacking for star power. Aside from Billy Bob Thornton, the series also includes recent Oscar nominee Demi Moore.
Unfortunately for viewers, Moore wasn't featured all that much in the show's first season. But "Landman" season 2 is already in the works at Paramount+. With Moore's recent resurgence, it seems all the more likely that her character Cami Miller, the wife of Jon Hamm's Monty Miller, will take on a more prominent role as the series evolves. This was recently addressed by the show's co-creator Christian Wallace in an interview with TVLine.

Director and writer Taylor Sheridan, who rose to global stardom thanks to his Paramount TV series Yellowstone, has also had his fair share of drama for that very project. Yes, we’re talking about his high-profile feud with Kevin Costner that painted Sheridan as a bit of a control freak on set.

Taylor Sheridan's "Landman" is the series Stephen King hates himself for liking, so the show must be doing something right for one of the world's greatest storytellers to (begrudgingly) praise it. In the show, Billy Bob Thornton plays Tommy Norris, a fixer for a West Texas oil company who must grapple with businessmen, the Cartel, politicians, and tumultuous family drama in his everyday life. Things get messy, and Tommy has to clean it up.
While King regrets enjoying the show, the truth is that "Landman" is one of Sheridan's best series to date, with the drama doing for the oil industry what "Yellowstone" does for ranching. Sure, there are heightened soap opera elements, but "Landman" is also pretty authentic thanks to its Texas-based locations and respect shown toward the industry it portrays on the screen.

Anthony and Joe Russo, the Russo Brothers, have directed some of the biggest movies of all time, with their film Avengers: Endgame coming in second place just behind James Cameron’s Avatar – and on March 14th, the Netflix streaming service released their latest film, the robot adventure The Electric State. The film topped the English films chart on Netflix over its debut weekend – but managed to do so with a surprisingly low number of views. The Electric State reached #1 with 25.2 million views, which pales in comparison to the debut numbers of recent hits like Back in Action (46.8 million views) and Carry On (42 million views), but is slightly higher than last year’s release of Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. Still, this is the third Millie Bobby Brown-led film to debut at #1 for Netflix, following last year’s Damsel (which got started with 35.3 million views) and 2022’s Enola Holmes 2,...

Following two months and 10 episodes of must-see television,Landman concluded its explosive Season 1 finale on January 12, 2025. The latest Taylor Sheridan TV creation went out with a bang, setting up a new set of circumstances for Season 2. After weeks of speculation, Paramount+ officially renewed the show for a second season on March 12, with criminally underutilized star Demi Moore having stated that filming will begin sometime in early 2025. As such, it's time to drill down to see what lies ahead in the riveting oil and gas industry drama.
While Sheridan is known for expanding his TV franchises with bigger and bolder seasons, sequels, and spinoffs, Landman's second chapter could go in several dramatic directions. However, considering what transpired in Season 1, Episode 10, "The Crumbs of Hope," it's safe to assume Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) must deal with the fallout of a dying friend, a vengeful drug cartel, and the mysterious arrival of...

Oscar-winning actors, Hollywood royalty, film auteurs – everyone wants a piece of that signature Taylor Sheridan action that will turn them into an instant classic. The part-cowboy, part-filmmaker identity of Sheridan is so deeply rooted in his pop culture reputation that he embeds the lost art of Westerns into every project that he spearheads.

His initial frontier trilogy – Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River – was nothing short of extraordinary, and his work in television is the same.

Peacock's Friday Night Lights reboot just lost a major key ingredient. Connie Britton, who appeared in both the movie and series inspired by the eponymous 1990 novel by H. G. Bissinger, has just ruled out making an appearance in the upcoming series reboot.
While speaking with Parade, Britton revealed that the Friday Night Lights reboot was "barely on her radar," although she expressed hope that the new cast will find a "sense of discovery there in terms of what they’re committing to and trying to accomplish." The actor played a similar role in both Friday Night Lights projects, appearing as the wife of a high school football coach opposite Billy Bob Thornton in the 2004 movie and Kyle Chandler in the 2006 series.

Netflix’s latest hit isn’t a new blockbuster — it’s Sicario, the 2015 crime thriller that’s suddenly dominating the charts. Written by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, this intense drug war drama has climbed Netflix’s Top 10 nearly a decade after its release. And honestly, it’s a reminder that this is the franchise Sheridan should expand.

Hey, good news for us TV watchers—Paramount+ just gave the green light to a second season of ‘Landman.’ If you haven’t caught it yet, it’s that gritty drama about the oil rigs and wildcat billionaires of West Texas, created by Taylor Sheridan. The guy knows how to hook us with a story, and this one’s no exception.
The first season wrapped up on January 12, and it’s been a hit. We’re talking huge numbers—Paramount says the premiere pulled in 35 million viewers worldwide. That’s the biggest debut they’ve had in two years. The finale also smashed records as the most-watched end to any series on the platform. No wonder they’re bringing it back.

Paramount+ has officially renewed Landman starring Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton and co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. After being listed as one of the Top 10 Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) original series for the fourth quarter of 2024, the renewal is not surprising.
Paramount+ reports that the fourth quarter Top 10 SVOD list marked the first time a streamer, other than Netflix, has earned three spots. Paramount+ was represented by Tulsa King (#4), Landman (#8), and Lioness (#9).
“Landman was one of the biggest shows of the year because of Taylor Sheridan’s unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-Western themes of rugged individualism, ambition, and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change and economic growth,” stated Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks.

Roger Ebert was the film critic of the Chicago Sun-Times from 1967 all the way until his death in 2013. He was so well known for his work that in 1975, he won the Pulitzer Prize for distinguished criticism. Ebert had many followers who adored his film reviews and hung on his word like gospel. Even now, his reviews are seen as highly accurate and very insightful. Although anime films weren't his primary selection for watching, he did write some words on different anime works. Get ready for more Taylor Sheridan as Paramount+ just renewed his latest show and with a big addition to the cast. Landman season 2 is officially happening!
Landman season 2 is coming
Sheridan has become a go-to producer for the streaming service. That’s thanks to the monster success of his hit Yellowstone and its spinoffs as well as series like Lawman: Bass Reeves. It’s no wonder the streamer wants to keep working with him.

Ghostface will have his/her choice of characters to question about their favorite scary movies when Scream 7 finally hits theaters in February 2026. Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott and Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers are the only two living survivors from director Wes Craven’s 1996 film returning. However, Woodsboro’s masked serial killer will come up against plenty of new blood, too, including the film's newest addition, Landman and 1923’sfan-favorite star, Michelle Randolph.
It’s unclear who Randolph will portray in the latest Scream installment, but she will be rubbing elbows with some of the horror franchise’s crème de la crème. Taylor Sheridan has a complete disrespect for one of my treasured possessions: downtime. In just seven years, Sheridan has created eight TV shows resulting in 164 episodes, the overwhelming majority of which he wrote entirely himself. Let that soak in for a moment. Here’s a quantitative but not qualitative comparison: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul combined were shot over 14 years and total 125 episodes. That’s still a day-and-a-half of television short of Sheridan’s output.
And here’s the thing: All eight shows are hits, something that not even...

1923 Season 2, Episode 3, titled “Whap Thee in Terror,” is a powerful commentary on how outsiders and immigrants are treated in modern society. This issue has remained unchanged for over a century. The episode focuses on Alexandra, Spencer’s wife, who arrives at America’s doorstep only to be poked and prodded at Ellis Island.
Taylor Sheridan, unlike any other mainstream television writer today, is a master at unflinchingly examining how women, Indigenous cultures, and other disadvantaged groups are treated in the so-called land of the free. 1923 Season 2, Episode 3, offers a poignant glimpse into the cost of life, love, and the American dream.

Revisiting Angelina Jolie & Billy Bob Thornton’s Romantic Blood Vials Story (Photo Credit – Wikipedia/Prime Video)
Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton’s whirlwind romance had Hollywood talking, but nothing raised eyebrows more than the infamous vials of blood they wore around their necks. At the time, it was seen as a wild declaration of love. Looking back, Thornton insisted it wasn’t as dramatic as people made it out to be.
Thornton, who married Jolie in 2000, later explained the story to Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film & Television students. He described it as a simple, intimate gesture. “[A] vial of blood is very simple. Angie came home one day with a kit she bought,” he said (via E-Online). “You know those lockets you buy that are clear and you put a picture of your grannie in it or something like that and wear it around your neck? That’s what it was.

Angie came home one day with a kit she bought,” he said (via E-Online). “You know those lockets you buy that are clear and you put a picture of your grannie in it or something like that and wear it around your neck? Michael Bay recently shared a story about commiserating the current state of Hollywood with fellow filmmaker James Cameron. The two were discussing the challenges of getting original ideas greenlit by studios.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Bay shared his discussion with the Titanic director where the two talked about how much Hollywood has changed since the early days of their careers. "I just had a conference call with Jim Cameron, and we were both commiserating about Hollywood. No one can greenlight anything anymore. It’s just so slow. It’s a very different business," Bay said.
He went on to reminisce about how the process today differs from the time when he was making Armageddon, the 1998 disaster film starring Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton and Liv Tyler. "During Armageddon, those were the days. We had Jonathan Hensleigh, the writer. We sat down for two or three weeks. We...

With an ensemble cast that features the likes of Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Owen Wilson, Billy Bob Thornton, and Liv Tyler, it's filled with a lot of amazing scenes thanks to the use of CGI, but one of the best moments comes toward the end when Willis and Affleck have a heart-to-heart that Bay said was made all the better thanks to a stomach flu.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Bay was asked about the scene in question, which features Affleck saying goodbye to Willis's character of Harry Stamper after the latter decides to sacrifice himself to save the world. It's a touching moment amidst the destruction happening all around them, and you wouldn't know it, but Bay said Affleck had...
