1923 Season 2, Episode 5, titled “Only Gunshots to Guide Us,” is a Brandon Sklenar and Julia Schlaepfer episode, in which they play Spencer and Alexandra, respectively. The chapter continues to depict their struggle—like a dream where you try to reach your destination, but it never ends. The writing is designed to highlight the depth of their love.

In this episode, Taylor Sheridan delves deeper into character development and places them in harm’s way. Surprisingly, after heavy focus on these stars in previous weeks, the episode does not include contributions from Harrison Ford’s Jacob or Helen Mirren’s Cara. At least we get a break from Elizabeth (Landman’s Michelle Randolph) encountering a wolf, a mountain lion, and, I imagine, a giant moose in the coming weeks.

There’s a lot to love about Cosmatos’ 1993 Western icon, Tombstone. The genre-defining drama brings everything to the table, and it does it all with skillful aplomb. It’s hard to imagine anything different, but it’s easy to imagine that Tombstone is a true window to the past. Everything feels so vividly real. Every detail is precisely calculated for maximum impact, and every acting choice is driven by the utmost professionalism.

"Landman" was one of the biggest breakout streaming TV hits of 2024. That probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise, as this is just the latest series to come from the mind of "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan, who has built himself quite the media empire. Airing on Paramount+, his latest show isn't connected to Paramount's flagship Western series, but it is certainly not lacking for star power. Aside from Billy Bob Thornton, the series also includes recent Oscar nominee Demi Moore.

Unfortunately for viewers, Moore wasn't featured all that much in the show's first season. But "Landman" season 2 is already in the works at Paramount+. With Moore's recent resurgence, it seems all the more likely that her character Cami Miller, the wife of Jon Hamm's Monty Miller, will take on a more prominent role as the series evolves. This was recently addressed by the show's co-creator Christian Wallace in an interview with TVLine.

Per Collider, Sam Elliott is in talks to join the cast of the popular drama series. Paramount+ has officially renewed Landman starring Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton and co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. After being listed as one of the Top 10 Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) original series for the fourth quarter of 2024, the renewal is not surprising.

Paramount+ reports that the fourth quarter Top 10 SVOD list marked the first time a streamer, other than Netflix, has earned three spots. Paramount+ was represented by Tulsa King (#4), Landman (#8), and Lioness (#9).

“Landman was one of the biggest shows of the year because of Taylor Sheridan’s unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-Western themes of rugged individualism, ambition, and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change and economic growth,” stated Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks.

Paramount+ is headed back to the West Texas oil fields.

The streamer has renewed its drama series Landman for a second season. The pickup comes two months after the show, co-created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and starring Billy Bob Thornton, concluded a breakout first season.

Landman ranked among the top 10 original streaming series during the fourth quarter of last year and continued its strong run into January, racking up almost 9.7 billion minutes of viewing over 11 weeks in Nielsen’s top 10 streaming rankings. (Two other Paramount+/Sheridan shows, Tulsa King and Lioness, also ranked among the top 10 streaming originals in the fourth quarter.)

Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki’s 1997 anime film Princess Mononoke returns to cinemas in a new way later this month. Gkids announced plans to screen the new 4K restoration, which Ghibli’s own Atsushi Okui oversaw, exclusively in IMAX in North America. Ghostface will have his/her choice of characters to question about their favorite scary movies when Scream 7 finally hits theaters in February 2026. Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott and Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers are the only two living survivors from director Wes Craven’s 1996 film returning. However, Woodsboro’s masked serial killer will come up against plenty of new blood, too, including the film's newest addition, Landman and 1923’sfan-favorite star, Michelle Randolph.

It’s unclear who Randolph will portray in the latest Scream installment, but she will be rubbing elbows with some of the horror franchise’s crème de la crème. In addition to Campbell and Cox, several other actors from earlier entries are returning for another go-round with Ghostface — even though their respective characters are presumably dead — more on that shortly.

The cast of the upcoming horror sequel Scream 7 continues to grow. Now, another two names have been revealed as franchise newcomers for the movie.

Per Deadline, it's been announced that Scream 7 has recruited Michelle Randolph (Landman) and Jimmy Tatro (The Real Bros of Simi Valley). Details about their roles have not been disclosed, but either one could potentially be playing the next person to be unmasked as a Ghostface killer, given how that changes with each installment. They could also just as easily be playing two more victims of the Ghostface killer. In any case, all fans can do at this time is speculate with no additional information known about the roles.

It's been far too long since we had a casting announcement for Scream 7, so Deadline helpfully gave us two more this evening with the news that Michelle Randolph and Jimmy Tatro joining the highly anticipated horror sequel. Randolph’s casting in Scream 7 comes as she rides a career high, thanks to her breakout role in Paramount+’s hit seriesLandman. The show,which stars Billy Bob Thornton, has quickly put Randolph on Hollywood’s radar, marking a major turning point in her career. In Landman, she plays the daughter of Thornton’s character, a wild and free spirited teenage girl.

Spyglass Media Group and Paramount’s Scream 7 is continuing to build on its already impressive ensemble as sources tell Deadline Michelle Randolph and Jimmy Tatro have joined the cast.

Paramount is releasing the seventhquel, just like it did with the last two movies. This one comes out on Feb. 27, 2026. Kevin Williamson, the architect of the Scream franchise who wrote the original Wes Craven directed 1996 title, is directing. Guy Busick, scribe of 2022’s Scream and Scream VI, is penning the screenplay. Producers are Project X Entertainment’s James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein.

Taylor Sheridan has a complete disrespect for one of my treasured possessions: downtime.
