Actor Ewan McGregor is best known for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars franchise. Outside the space opera franchise, McGregor has established himself as a serious actor across different genres but the legacy of his fabled Jedi Knight character follows him everywhere, which might make it difficult for some fans to digest an incident involving him.

Despite his typically chill off-screen persona, McGregor seemingly lost his cool during an interaction with a photographer while filming on-location for one of his projects. The incident proved that, like other celebs, McGregor is also prone to outbursts against the media for invading his privacy. However, the photographer claimed full responsibility for the incident, and here is what transpired.

Haywire.Violence erupts in a sleepy Upstate New York diner at the start of Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire (2011). Seated in the back, Mallory Kane (Gina Carano) is joined by her hungover, bleary-eyed associate Aaron (Channing Tatum), who has been sent to pick her up. She refuses to budge. As Aaron is served his coffee, the camera peers at them from a few yards away, peeking around the counter at knee height, like an eavesdropping waitress wiping up spilled food. He feigns a sip, then abruptly pitches the cup’s scalding contents at Mallory. She clutches her face in pain, but no reaction shot follows: the camera retains its distant vantage on the pair, off-center in the frame, as if it, too, hasn’t fully processed this jolting disruption of a banal scene.Aaron breaks a glass against Mallory’s temple, causing her to keel over onto the floor. The brawl now begins in earnest.

Disney live-action remakes have had a difficult reputation thus far. Audiences have been mostly negative towards many of these films as they usually don't offer any new or innovative storytelling outside the visual technology they're able to arguably improve upon, although many say these movies don't look much better than the originals in the first place.
However, quite a few of these live-action remakes do provide new and exciting experiences for their audiences. With both Snow White and Lilo & Stitch getting the live-action treatment this year, audiences are looking back at the best live-action films Disney has to offer, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

Update: the first teaser has arrived ahead of a full trailer next week. See it and find the original story below.
A major summer release for Paul Thomas Anderson’s next feature was too good to be true. Warner Bros. has now delayed the film, his Vineland-inspired action/crime/comedy One Battle After Another, from an August 8, 2025 release to a September 26, 2025 bow, a similar timeframe that Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis occupied last year.
According to The Wrap, the film will still receive an IMAX release, including select theaters with 70mm along with a special release on VistaVision, a format recently used by Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist. The shift will reportedly “give the studio more time to prepare VistaVision prints and projectors for the release.”

Warner Bros. has shifted its upcoming release rescheduling, resulting in new dates for three highly-anticipated genre titles.
Weapons, Zach Cregger‘s follow-up to Barbarian, has been bumped up to August 8, 2025. Previously scheduled for January 16 of next year, the summer release shows the studio’s confidence in the project.
Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, Austin Abrams, Amy Madigan, and June Diane Raphael star in the horror epic about a small community after a group of kids mysteriously disappear overnight.
Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride!, originally due out on September 26, 2025, has been pushed to March 6, 2026; a time frame that WB has found success with big genre projects.
Inspired by Bride of Frankenstein, the monster movie stars Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening.
Flowervale Street, from It Follows writer-director David Robert Mitchell, has moved from March 13, 2026 to August 14, 2026 in an effort to take advantage of late-summer audiences.

The release date for an upcoming Anne Hathaway science-fiction movie has been delayed by five months. For more than two decades, Hathaway has been a leading star in Hollywood. She first gained recognition for her role as Mia Thermopolis in 2001's The Princess Diaries, and she reprised the character three years later in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. Her stardom continued to expand with leading roles in Ella Enchanted, The Devil Wears Prada, and Rachel Getting Married.
Several of Hathaway's best movies came in the following decade, particularly her Academy Award-winning performance as Fantine in Les Misérables and as Dr. Amelia Brand in Christopher Nolan's science-fiction epic Interstellar. More recently, Hathaway played art gallery owner Solène Marchand in The Idea of You, which sees her character in a romantic relationship with a popstar. Warner Bros. is making some major changes to its release slate ahead of its CinemaCon presentation in two weeks, as five films — including Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Bride!” — see shifts on the 2025 and 2026 release schedule.
“One Battle After Another,” a crime thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio, moves from an August 8 release to September 26. The film will still get its planned release on Imax screens — including select theaters with 70mm — and will now also get a special release on VistaVision, the extinct film format recently revived by the Oscar-winning drama “The Brutalist.”
Sources at Warner Bros. say the delay will give the studio more time to prepare VistaVision prints and projectors for the release. The move also situates the film in the more traditional period for awards contenders in the fall.
The film is one of several big, auteur-driven gambles for Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. is getting its ducks in a row before it presents its upcoming slate to theater owners at this year’s CinemaCon, which gets underway March 31 in Las Vegas.
Wednesday evening, the studio announced a number of high-profile changes to its release calendar, led by news that director Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s Frankenstein pic The Bride is relocating from Sept. 26, 2025, to March 6, 2026. The film stars Christian Bale opposite Jessie Buckley. The Bride has had a challenging postproduction period, according to sources, though others deny any challenges and note its post-process has nothing to do with the new date.
The studio says the movie is the sort of event film that will benefit from hitting theaters timed to the beginning of spring holidays and school breaks. This does not preclude the film from being an awards contender despite such an early release date.

Warner Bros has just made some razor-sharp release-date changes ahead of CinemaCon, ones that could potentially keep the Burbank, CA lot more toward the black this year than in the red.
In a year when there were four $100 million-plus auteur-driven movies — one of which, Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17, recently misfired — Warners Bros distribution has taken the pressure off the studios’ schedule in that regard, and even placed a potential tentpole into the year: Zach Cregger’s anticipated genre movie Weapons on August 8.
Cregger’s next movie after Barbarian was previously scheduled for MLK weekend 2026, on January 16. What kept Warners from moving the pic starring Josh Brolin, Julia Garner and Alden Ehrenreich was that the theatrical release was tied to Imax screens — can’t give up those auditoriums. In fact, what made all of the release-date changes feasible for Warners was that each was tied to Imax bookings. As...

Warner Bros. enacted some significant housekeeping around its film release schedule on Wednesday, including a new date for the highly anticipated Paul Thomas Anderson film starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Now officially titled “One Battle After Another,” the Anderson project is shrouded in mystery but said to be an American crime thriller. Previously dated for Aug. 8, the film will now open nationwide on Sept. 26.
Insiders familiar with the movie said the minor push comes as the studio helps outfit U.S. movie theaters with VistaVision projection systems to accommodate their director’s vision. A move out of August to late September also squeaks “One Battle” out of the summer box office season and places it closer to the awards corridor, Anderson’s natural habitat.. DiCaprio will costar with Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall and Teyana Taylor.

Warner Bros has confirmed that its Paul Thomas Anderson feature starring Leonardo DiCaprio is called One Battle After Another and pushed it from August onto September 26, bouncing Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride! into March 2026.
This is a better awards season slot than the initial August 8 date, were the studio minded to go down that path and plan to capitalise on strong word of mouth from fall festivals. They have been an occasional entry point for the auteur: of his last five films, Inherent Vice debuted at New York Film Festival in 2014 and before that The Master premiered in Venice in 2012.

Exclusive: Screenwriter J S Mayank has been tapped by producers Kate Cohen, Alexander Vesely and Tony Robbins to join Oscar nominee and Bafta winner Lesley Paterson (All Quiet on the Western Front) in writing the feature adaptation of Viktor Frankl‘s classic treatise, Man’s Search for Meaning.
Paterson had been writing the script with her husband and writing partner Simon Marshall, as was reported in Deadline a year ago. At the time, Marshall had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Marshall died last June.
After taking some time to regroup and grieve, the filmmaking team undertook a search for someone to team up with Paterson.
“Finding a writing partner who could understand and support me on this journey while at the same time servicing this masterpiece felt like an impossible ask,” says Paterson. “J S has stepped into this role seamlessly and I’m so honored and relieved to have teamed up with him.

It is customary that once every few years, a movie studio - in hopes of creating future success - will produce a sacrificial lamb of sorts, a high-budget fantasy film with a cast only most directors could dream of that exists purely to fail spectacularly at the box office. If you find this to be entirely unbelievable, then surely question why there is such a trend in fantasy that continues to this day.
It varies from film to film on the specifics of the failure - sometimes it's a matter of poor script, sometimes overestimation of the audience turnout, sometimes the story just doesn’t appeal. Whatever the case was for Jack the Giant Slayer, the film didn't get the success it deserves, though it will get another chance to shine when it starts streaming on Netflix on April 1, via What's On Netflix.

As a result, these actors often find it hard to continue their acting careers outside the franchise, with some even opting to step away from the profession. However, for Freddie Prinze Jr, it was a different role that led him to quit acting.

If you were alive and paying attention in the early 2000s, chances are you remember Tim Burton’s Big Fish. Or maybe you don’t. That’s kind of the problem. Here we are, over twenty years later, and Big Fish remains a cinematic anomaly—loved by those who saw it but often forgotten in broader conversations about Burton’s filmography. How did one of the director’s most ambitious, heartfelt, and visually stunning films fade into relative obscurity? And why does it deserve to be remembered as his second-best film, right behind Ed Wood? Let’s dive into this weird, wonderful, and sadly overlooked masterpiece to figure out just what the fuck happened to Big Fish.
Released in 2003, Big Fish hit theaters when Tim Burton’s career was at a crossroads. He was still riding high from his ‘90s dominance—where he cranked out Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, and...

The release of the Star Warsprequel trilogy didn’t only mark the return of one of the most beloved franchises of all time but also the resurgence of George Lucasto the role of a director, which he had not occupied since the release of the original film in 1977. Although Lucas showed the same degree of diligence in crafting an ambitious story, he also placed many fun Easter Eggs within all three films. Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clonesfeatures an appearance by the alien bartender known as Dexter Jettster, who gives important information to Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) about the origin of the Kaminoan saberdart used by Jango Fett (Temura Morrison). Dexter was modeled after the Academy Award-winning character actor Ernest Borgnine, and his name is shared by another member of the Lucas family.

Jack Quaid shot to fame with The Boys. However, as the actor prepares for the final season of the show, he has also kept himself busy with a new project or two. The actor donned a new avatar in the film Novocaine, and it might just feel similar to a certain Bollywood film. Let’s take a look at what Novocaine promises to the audience.
Jack Quaid is not your regular guy in Novocaine
Novocaine follows the story of Nathan Caine (played by Jack Quaid), a regular employee who cannot feel physical pain at all. He has a rare disorder, congenital insensitivity to pain (Cip). One day, he meets Sherry (played by Amber Midthunder) and soon begins dating her. But she is kidnapped during a bank heist that Nathan was also a witness to. Best Actor Oscar Winners List (Photo Credit – Instagram/Wikipedia)
The Academy Awards have long vaunted acting titans, and a rare few male actors have commandeered the Best Actor statuette more than once, with Daniel Day-Lewis scaling the peak thrice. From living legends like Tom Hanks to recent winners such as Adrien Brody, 10 men are trailing Day-Lewis’ record. Here is every name with two or more wins in this hallowed category.
1. Daniel Day-Lewis
Sir Daniel Day-Lewis stands alone with three Best Actor Oscars, a feat no other man has matched. His wins were facilitated thanks to dramatic transformations for My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, and Lincoln—roles that exhibit him as an unforgettable chameleon. The Irish actor has retired since 2017’s Phantom Thread, but his five nominations out of fewer than a couple dozen movies certainly make us wonder whether Day-Lewis could come back for that gold once again...

Stars: Danny Dyer, Stephanie Leonidas, Calum MacNab, Dean Harrison, Arty Dyer, Philippe Brenninkmeyer, Phillip Ray Tommy | Written and Directed by Nick Love
Danny Dyer reteams with director Nick Love for Marching Powder, a sweary geezer comedy-drama that feels like a throwback (or should that be a dragback?) to the early ’00s. It marks their fifth collaboration – following Goodbye Charlie Bright (2001), The Football Factory (2004), The Business (2005) and Outlaw (2005), as well as Dyer’s return to the big screen after a ten-year absence.
In some ways, Marching Powder could be seen as a sequel to The Football Factory, since Dyer once again plays a coke-snorting (the title is a euphemism for cocaine), c-word-dropping part-time football hooligan. The difference is, well, he’s a lot older this time around, and the film does a decent job of questioning his life choices.
Dyer plays Jack Jones, a 45-year-old geezer who still indulges in coke...

Tom Cruise & Brad Pitt Face-Off (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Tom Cruise has been locked in a silent but fierce battle with Brad Pitt for over the last three decades, and it seems that the rivalry is far from over. The beef which apparently started on the set of Interview with the Vampire in 1994 has lingered on, at least in Cruise’s mind, but now, the competition has taken a new, unsettling turn for the action star.

When a beloved film doesn't make enough money at the box office, or even make back its budget, it's always a sad reality. Especially when that movie happens to be a classic in the making. Many different films every year unfortunately don't live up to financial expectations.
While the numbers are never certain, as there are so many factors involved in making a budget, the financial disappointment of a film should never interfere with the audience's feelings. The quality of a film does not always have any indication or connection to the box office.
There Was No Honor Among Thieves Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)
Despite much audience appreciation for an incredible Dungeons & Dragons film, Honor Among Thieves bombed at the box office. The film failed to garner mass audience appeal despite the name recognition in the title. Despite earning more than its budget, the film needed much more to break even.

Over the past 40 plus years, the Star Wars universe has played host to some phenomenal talent. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford kicked off the franchise with A New Hope way back in 1977. Since then, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Oscar Isaac, Samuel L. Jackson, and many more have all traveled to a galaxy far, far away for one of the various installments in the ever-expanding franchise. However, one actor you might have completely forgotten appeared in Star Wars is John Lithgow. Not only did the Third Rock From the Sun star become part of the Star Wars universe, he played none other than Master Yoda.
During an interview with Collider, Lithgow recalled his brief time playing Yoda in Star Wars. For those that don't know, Lithgow voiced Yoda in the radio dramatizations of The Empire Strikes Back. "I was acting in a play on Broadway directed by John Madden,...

March Box Office: Biggest Opening Weekends In North America ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
February and March seem to be quieter than last year when Dune 2, Kung Fu Panda 4, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire were released in the cinemas. This year, in March, Snow White is the only big movie to arrive in theatres, but it might not hold a candle to the films that have registered the biggest opening weekends, and the #1 spot is held by another Disney live-action film, Beauty and the Beast. It is yet to be bested by any film, not even an MCU flick; Captain Marvel could surpass Emma Watson’s movie. Scroll below for the deets.
The live-action/animated remake of the Disney film was released in 2017. It featured an ensemble cast comprising Emma, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson.

Miramax Films’ musical fantasy comedy Ella Enchanted will officially be heading to a brand-new streaming home soon. The 2004 movie was led by Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway in one of her earliest movie roles, following the success of 2001’s The Princess Diaries.
Beginning on March 6, Ella Enchanted will be available for streaming on Prime Video. In the film, Hathaway portrayed the titular role of Ella, a young woman whose fairy godmother granted her the magical gift of obedience. This ability requires her to immediately obey any command she has been given. However, as she grows up, this so-called gift proves to be more of a curse than a blessing, since it gives anyone the power to take advantage of her. During its theatrical run, it received negative reviews from critics and fans of the novel, with a Tomatometer rating of 51% on Rotten Tomatoes. This was due to its lack of faithfulness from the original source material.

Former Zorro Antonio Banderas trades swords and swashbuckling for grit and guns in one of his most underrated action thrillers, which is now streaming free. Released back in 2017, Acts of Vengeance evokes the best kind of action B-movie in this tale of a lawyer who never shuts up, vowing silence and revenge after his family is murdered.
Directed by Isaac Florentine, who has demonstrated his affinity for the genre before with frequent collaborations with action icon Scott Adkins in the likes of Ninja: Shadow of a Tear, Undisputed II: Last Man Standing, and Close Range, Acts of Vengeancestars The Boys’ Karl Urban alongside Banderas. As always, Netflix brings the goods with the arrival of the new month. There aren't any new blockbusters on the schedule today; those are coming later this month. But a lot of great movies and shows hit the screen today.
Yeah, that's not exactly the best sales pitch, I know. But there's no shortage of star power, both in front and behind the camera. Ewan McGregor, Gene Hackman, Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, John Cusack, Rachel Weisz, Benicio del Toro, and Harrison Ford star, while filmmakers like Ridley Scott, Denis Villeneuve, and Taylor Sheridan craft the vision.
There are several modern classics on the bill, including a trio that are regarded as some of the best of their respective genres. Crime drama, science fiction, and war movies all get their due today. There are some originals, to be sure. A pair of anime series make their Netflix debut, as well as a Korean rom-com romance series.
