It turns out the Ratliffs weren’t the only guests on The White Lotus who turned to Bravo-lebrities in preparation for their roles in Season 3 of the HBO series.
In addition to finding inspiration in “some part of Rachel Zoe, like that world,” Leslie Bibb revealed that she also consumed the Real Housewives franchise while playing Texas housewife Kate Bohr in Mike White‘s anthology series.
“I was watching The Real Housewives always before scenes,” she said on Watch What Happens Live.
“Sometimes I’d just watch it and I just see what seeps in. That sounds crazy. And then I don’t even know what’s permeating.”
Bibb noted “a lot of Beverly Hills was happening, and that felt in the right world. Maybe a little Oc. Maybe there’s a little Heather Dubrow in her.”

Parker Posey is giving a great performance this season in The White Lotus as Ratliff family matriarch Victoria.
In one memorable scene, Victoria’s daughter Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) tells her parents she wants to move to Thailand, where they are vacationing, for the year.
This causes Victoria to retort, “You want to live in Taiwan?!” to which Piper responds, “What!?”
Now, Parker was asked if Victoria knows what country they are even in.
Keep reading to find out more…
Parker told EW, “It doesn’t matter. Victoria gets on the plane and is just going to land. They usually go to the Caribbean, and so this is just a long flight for her, to a country that she’s going to land, in a place where she can get massages and eat delicious food at night and get to bask in her perfect children and work out her own issues.

Walton Goggins reflected on filming with Sam Rockwell during his bizarre monologue in The White Lotus season 3, episode 5. The latest season of the HBO series follows a new group of vacationers at the White Lotus' Thailand resort. While mostly set at the resort, Goggins' character, Rick, travels to Bangkok in episode 5, where he meets an old friend. In addition to Goggins and Rockwell, the cast of The White Lotus season 3 includes Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, and Natasha Rothwell.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly following The White Lotus season 3, episode 5 "Full-Moon Party," Goggins claims he was very excited to film scenes with Rockwell since they are best friends. However, he was also nervous to act alongside an actor he looks up to because he didn't want to let him down. Why is it always HBO? The network promises great things with its shows, only to fumble after a few seasons. Mike White’s The White Lotus began as a hilarious mirror to the rich American life as they go on vacation and live in luxury hotels but in season 3, the showrunner seems to stray from the Usp of the series.
The latest season of the dark comedy is more dark than comedy and it is alienating some of the hardcore fans of the show. The White Lotus is an anthology series, with each season setting up different characters in a different branch of the eponymous luxury chain. However, there are no Tanyas or Armonds to give some much-needed laughs this time.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 5.
While some viewers found the first four episodes of “The White Lotus” Season 3 on the slower side, Mike White’s anthology series ramped up with an explosive Episode 5, that took the season exactly where some fans were thinking.
After much of the guests spent their day on Greg/Gary’s yacht in Episode 4, Episode 5 sees the group filter off, with brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) heading to the full moon party with Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) and Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon), whose boyfriends have both chosen not to join in on the festivities.
After a fair amount of drinking and some drugs — which some fans found reminiscent of HBO’s “Euphoria” — the group took turns kissing each other — including brothers Saxon and Lochlan, sending social media into a frenzy.

The White Lotus opened the doors to its lavish Thai hotel resort on February 16, 2025, introducing a new cast of decadent tourists for Season 3. While plenty of polite first impressions gave way to passive-aggressive behavior and potential motives for murder, several characters have already shown themselves as potentially the worst of the bunch.
Of course, one appeal of The White Lotus is witnessing the humiliating fall of the narcissistic, ultra-wealthy elites who, despite vacationing in paradise, never feel satisfied or fulfilled. With a mysterious murder setting the table each season, the fun becomes playing detective, figuring out who will die and who the killer is. While there's still plenty to solve with the remaining episodes in Season 3, one White Lotus character is already more suspicious than the others.

Nestled in the Massachusetts countryside, a cozy house that’s equal parts gorgeous and spooky was invaded by some of the entertainment industry’s most seasoned pros, including Edie Falco and Brian Cox — both playing just about as far from their usual casting as they can get — to film the horror comedy “The Parenting,” now on Max. The duo plays a married couple invited by their gay son to a weekend away in a rented house to meet his boyfriend’s parents. They soon find out that the house isn’t vacant after all, but rather haunted by an ancient demon looking for an earthbound host to occupy… and it finds an unsuspecting one in Cox.
This is quite a leap from Logan Roy, the role the classically trained Cox so brilliantly played on HBO’s “Succession.” In “The Parenting,” he gets to be downright silly — in a foul-mouthed, mischievous way.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 5, titled “Full-Moon Party,” streaming now on Max.
The ongoing season of HBO’s “The White Lotus” has undeniably gotten off to a slow start; while the setting and characters have provided moments of interest, it’s felt at times as if the show itself had been sneaking Parker Posey’s character’s Lorazepams. But Sunday night provided a jolting course of adrenaline, all in the unlikely form of a conversation that became a startlingly frank monologue.
As Rick (Walton Goggins) makes his way to his appointment with revenge in Bangkok, where he plans to confront the man he believes killed his father, he makes time for a drink with Frank (Sam Rockwell), who begins unspooling a story of his expatriate life. It emerges — gradually and then all at once — that Frank’s sexual fetish for Asian women was...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The White Lotus Season 3 Episode 5, “Full-Moon Party.”] The White Lotus finally went there in its latest episode after heavily hinting at odd incest vibes between Ratliff brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) as the pair share a kiss on Gary’s (Jon Gries) yacht, celebrating the Full-Moon Party with Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood). As viewers will recall, in the premiere episode, Saxon made several uncomfortable sexual comments throughout, telling Lochlan it was weird to share a room with their sister Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) since they’re both adults now, implying something could happen between them. But by the premiere installment’s end, Saxon was asking Lochlan what kind of porn he watches and sleeping in the nude around his brother, which is far from normal… HBO After attending a party aboard Gary’s yacht in Episode 4 with their family, including parents Victoria...

[Editor’s note: This review contains spoilers for “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 5, “Full Moon Party.”]
In “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 5, Lochlan (Sam Nivola) poses an existential question to brother Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger): What if this life is all a trial, a chance to become better people?
Saxon dismisses him quickly, underestimating little Lochy as usual. Because if life is a test, he’s not only expecting but hoping to fail. Saxon’s entire blustering persona — finance bro, unlicensed sexpert, protein aficionado — could be put into evidence for his misunderstanding of life’s value, and he’s not exactly equipped to have that kind of epiphany, least of all during a cross-faded full moon party that gets out of his control.
After a slow start, “The White Lotus” delivers Mike White’s version of an action-packed episode with this fifth installment, and it’s the most interesting hour by far for Schwarzenegger’s character. Despite all the fronting,...

After watching Jason Isaacs’ Timothy spiral throughout “The White Lotus” Season 3, the character attempts to take his fate back into his own hands in Episode 5 — an impulse Isaacs said lingers throughout the rest of the season.
In Episode 5, Timothy silently mulls over his future — which is likely going to include prison and frozen assets — and comes to the realization that ending his own life might be his best option. At the end of the episode, Timothy writes a suicide note to his family before pulling the gun he stole from Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) to his head. At the last second, however, he is interrupted by his wife, Victoria (Parker Posey).

It was only a matter of time.
This season of “The White Lotus” has so far been relatively tame in terms of sex, drugs, violence and overall debauchery. Mention of a party in last week’s episode implied an incoming shift, though, and “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 5 delivers on that promise. It is an episode full of reckless partying, lust and more than a few cringe-inducing moments of impulsive degeneracy. Amid all of the chaos, “White Lotus” creator Mike White returns to some of the HBO drama’s long-running themes — namely, the difficulty of cultural assimilation and the unfortunate truth that no amount of wealth or uninhibited living can fill the empty parts within ourselves. The former theme emerges early in the episode.

“The White Lotus” Season 3 boasts an emblematic performance from Parker Posey as Victoria Ratliff, a lorazepam-dependent housewife from North Carolina who is convinced dying would be a better fate than living a less-than-luxurious life — a mentality the actress notes is rooted in pain.
“There are different ideas about Victoria and where she comes from [and] how much money she has — I think she comes from the wealth in the family and was quite spoiled, had everything at her fingertips,” Parker told TheWrap, adding that she carries some trauma after her father’s death. “But there’s a lot of pain under there, there’s a lot of eccentricities and neediness — she’s like a woman-child.”
That neediness is, of course, what worries Victoria’s husband, Timothy (Jason Isaacs), as he spirals over a white collar crime that is in the process of being uncovered during their vacation. While Posey notes Timothy...

A whimsy, southern gentleman turning into a drug-addicted maniac stealing his wife's lorazepam is one of the many joys while watching Season 3 of The White Lotus. Jason Isaacs' descent into madness is a funny, scathing satire on privilege, and Mike White's latest installment of the Max series is really kicking into high gear halfway through its season. Starring alongside the likes of Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Michelle Monaghan, and Walton Goggins, Isaacs is one of the most colorful and comic characters, but it's far from his typical on-screen persona. Known for playing sinister villains with ease, his most diabolical and evil remains that of Hunter Aloysius "Hap" Percy in Netflix's The Oa.

Craig Johnson made a great non-horror film with a spooky title (The Skeleton Twins), and has now made a horror film with a completely normal title — The Parenting. Granted, it's still a comedy, and the film has a wonderful comedic cast including Lisa Kudrow, Parker Posey, Edie Falco, Nik Dodani, and Vivian Bang. It also features an actor who is not traditionally known for comedy, but who became possibly the most outrageous and ridiculous comedic force in the film — veteran powerhouse Brian Cox, who Succession fans might know best as the infamous Logan Roy.
"You'll see Brian do things he would never have done as Logan Roy," Johnson told MovieWeb in a recent interview, regarding Cox's wildly different character in The Parenting. "I'm thrilled and proud to say you'll be shocked and awed by what comes out of Brian's mouth — literally and figuratively."

An attempt to revive a bygone television spinoff is also a novel twist on a common marketing tactic. In recent months, studios and other rights holders have started making classic films and TV shows available for free on YouTube, where a new generation of viewers can revive interest in older productions.
For years, TV networks and streamers have used YouTube as a secondary distribution window for previous episodes of returning shows. At the start of new seasons, it’s not unusual to see full-length pilot episodes show up on network-affiliated YouTube channels. Patrick is a Season 3 star. He is following in his famous father’s footsteps as an actor.

It’s almost tantamount to false advertising to describe “The Parenting” as a horror comedy. It’s not just that the new Max original film is neither funny nor scary, but rather that it evinces such limited instinct in eliciting fear or laughter from an audience. Everything from the elevator-pitch premise — “Meet the Parents” crossed with “The Evil Dead” — to the palpable lack of on-screen energy from an ensemble of veteran performers screams of a half-assed stab at content creation. It’s never a great sign when you wish that a movie was worse just so that it would be more interesting.

Scary Movie didn’t establish the idea of horror comedy, but it did become one of the most durable movie franchises in the genre, with five feature films premiering between 2000 and 2013 and a sixth currently in development. So when Kent Sublette was writing The Parenting, which will become his first produced screenplay when the film premieres tomorrow on Max, Scary Movie had to have been at least in the back of his mind. The creative minds behind Scary Movie — the Wayans Brothers for the first few, and Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker later on — come from TV sketch comedy, and the Scary Movie movies are less driven by plot than a series of sketch-like comic setpieces. Sketch dominates Sublette’s background, too — he wrote on Saturday Night Live from 2007 through 2024 — but The Parenting doesn’t feel as sketch-y as its horror comedy forebear. Maybe I would have had more fun if it had.

Plot: A couple rents a countryside house for a weekend with their parents and then discover it’s inhabited by a 400-year-old poltergeist.
Review: Horror/comedies can have a difficult time in balancing between their two targeted genres. Do too much of one, and you lose the identity of the other, so it’s always been a delicate balance that needs to be struck. I’m not sure it’s appreciated just how much skill it takes to pull it off and pull it off well. Because in order to accomplish that, you have to know both genres intimately and understand the common tropes and pitfalls. The Parenting seems to understand the comedy due to its hilarious cast, but when it comes to the horror, this may as well be a Disney movie.

White Lotus is halfway through its third season, and the drama is finally intensifying for several characters staying at the Thailand resort. After a local celebration that found three of the privileged vacationers targeted and water gunned, and Belinda recognized Tanya’s toxic ex-husband Greg (who goes by Gary now), the danger is escalating. But we noticed that one of the actors helping drum up the drama and the comedy of the show has soap roots. Which actor is it?
Soap Opera and White Lotus Connections
If you recall, in the first memorable season of White Lotus, Murray Bartlett, formerly of Guiding Light, played Armond, one of the season’s most integral roles. For this, the soap alum ultimately won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Ah, the old rite of passage of bringing together your parents... and the parents of your significant other. But where to do it? Your house? Theirs? What about a weekend getaway to set up a neutral ground of sorts? There's your answer. Let's hope the location of choice doesn't turn out to be a haunted house or something... Hey, there's a movie idea for ya. Enter The Parenting, heading straight to Max on Thursday with a talented cast that efforts to save an ultimately underwhelming end result from the great director Craig Johnson (The Skeleton Twins) and the funny writer Kent Sublette (Saturday Night Live).
Some of your favorite small-screen stars, including Lisa Kudrow (Friends), Brian Cox (Succession), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), and Edie Falco (The Sopranos), tackle the parental roles, which ultimately fall victim to thinned-out character development since the folks behind the lens try again and again to freak you out.

Is there anything scarier than spending a weekend with you and your boyfriend’s parents, alone, in the middle of nowhere, for the very first time? In the comedy “The Parenting” the answer is definitely “yes,” which is unfortunate because it’s also a horror movie and that means all the allegedly “scary” parts fall flat. On the other hand, the comedy never gets off the ground either. So I guess this whole movie qualifies as a low point.
“The Parenting” stars Nik Dodani (“Twisters”) and Brandon Flynn (“Hellraiser”) as Rohan and Josh, two young boyfriends who are ready to take their relationship to the next level. Rohan, the fastidious worrywart of the two, has rented a beautiful house in the country for a romantic weekend getaway. With their parents. I can already see a flaw in Rohan’s plan.

Not being particularly familiar with director Craig Johnson’s (The Skeleton Twins) work or screenwriter Kent Sublette’s (Saturday Night Live) writing, expectations for The Parenting were mostly based on its promising premise and impressive cast. The concept fits perfectly within the ever-entertaining fusion of horror and comedy – a genre mix that’s notoriously difficult to balance, but when executed well, can deliver a truly memorable experience.
The Parenting follows young couple Rohan (Nik Dodani) and Josh (Brandon Flynn), who plan a weekend getaway in the countryside to introduce their parents. However, as tensions begin to rise between the more traditional Sharon (Edie Falco) and Frank (Brian Cox) and the laid-back Liddy (Lisa Kudrow) and Cliff (Dean Norris), the family quickly realizes that their rented house – managed by the eccentric Brenda (Parker Posey) – hides a dark secret: the presence of a 400-year-old poltergeist.

A couple’s weekend getaway with their parents takes a supernatural turn in The Parenting, an amusing horror adventure directed by Craig Johnson (Wilson, Alex Strangelove) from a screenplay by Kent Sublette (Saturday Night Live). The film, which bows on Max on March 13, is low on genuine scares, but it does boast an appealing cast, whose comic chops elevate the flick slightly above the standard streamer slush.
Rohan (Nik Dodani, Atypical and Twisters) and Josh (Brandon Flynn, 13 Reasons Why and Manhunt), a sweet couple, are nervous to meet each other’s families. On the drive up to a beautiful countryside mansion, which they have rented for the low cost of $350 a night, the two trade tips and secrets on making the best impression. It’s mostly Rohan trying to prepare his boyfriend for his uptight and judgmental parents. But Josh, a former employee at Rei and aspiring musician, is unfazed.

The third season of HBO's The White Lotus has introduced an entirely new cast of characters, and viewers are finding themselves just as, if not more, invested in their developments and exploits as those of the previous two seasons. One guest at the resort that many fans are currently seeing themselves drawn to the most is Rick Hatchett, played by Walton Goggins. Until now, not much had been known about his character or his true reasoning for dragging his girlfriend, Chelsea, to the White Lotus resort in Thailand. Episode 4, "Hide and Seek", has finally given them an answer, however, and it now has the fans all on the edge of their seats to find out what it could lead to next.

Steve Buscemi joins Sam Rockwell in the cast of Martin McDonagh's upcoming movie Wild Horse Nine. One of the most prominent character actors in Hollywood, Buscemi has an impressive filmography, first shooting to fame with a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino's debut Reservoir Dogs. He later appeared in several hit movies, including Pulp Fiction, Con Air, The Big Lebowski, and Ghost World. With a strong body of work on television too, including a supporting role in The Sopranos and the lead role in Boardwalk Empire, Buscemi remains one of the most recognizable and iconic stars of film and TV.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Buscemi will replace Mark Ruffalo in Wild Horse Nine, and is also joined by Parker Posey and John Malkovich. The movie, which McDonagh will write and direct, is described as a darkly comedic drama, and will begin shooting later this month in Rapa Nui, aka Easter Island.

Social media’s been buzzing about Jason Isaacs‘ full-frontal nudity scene in the fourth episode of The White Lotus, but it turns out the actor’s privates are still private. “That wasn’t his real penis,” confirms Sam Nivola, who plays Lochlan, the earnest son of Issacs’ character, the increasingly troubled Timothy Ratliff. (Watch the video above.) The businessman dad had been self-medicating with his wife Victoria’s (Parker Posey) Lorazepam and was so doped up in the morning that he carelessly let his robe fall open, inadvertently exposing the family to his jewels. “It was a prosthetic,” seconds Sarah Catherine Hook, who as Ratliff daughter Piper has convinced the clan to vacation in Thailand. Piper covered her eyes when her dad showed off his breakfast baguette, Lochlan winced, and the third sibling, hypersexual Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), who showed off his bare butt in the premiere episode, laughed along with his mom.

The Parenting Interview: Brandon Flynn And Nik Dodan Talk Crazy Noodles And Parker Posey (Exclusive)
A hilariously terrifying comedy, The Parenting follows young couple Rohan and Josh as they plan a perfect weekend getaway in the country to introduce their parents. As tensions begin to flare between the more traditional Sharon and Frank and the laid-back Liddy and Cliff, the families soon realize that their rental – managed by eccentric local Brenda – is haunted by the presence of a 400-year-old poltergeist.
When one parent becomes thoroughly possessed, it’s up to the young couple and their meddlesome Bff Sara to unite the families and stop the evil entity once and for all.
Brandon Flynn (Hellraiser) and Nik Dodan (Atypical) play Josh and Rohan, and we recently got to speak with The Parenting's leads about the craziness that came with shooting their hilarious new horror comedy.
Reflecting on sharing the screen with icons like Brian Cox and Parker Posey, Brandon and Nik also share some insights into their respective characters,...

This post contains spoilers from The White Lotus season 3 episode 4 from this point forward.
For the first three episodes of The White Lotus season 3, Timothy Ratliff's (Jason Isaacs) story has been pretty much the same. He's buckling under the weight of the trouble back home with his business, trouble that will most certainly put him behind bars once his Thailand family vacation is over. There hasn't been much movement thus far, but in episode 4, the crash out begins.
Tim has been taking his wife's beloved Lorazepam, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety and other conditions. But the Ratliff parents aren't using the pills for their intended purpose, and the more Tim begins to rely on the stolen medication to numb himself to the secret that he's keeping, the worse off he becomes. Well, for us, it's selfishly much more entertaining!

Television series don’t come much buzzier than “The White Lotus,” and audiences are flocking to watch another round of (mostly) new jet-setting characters while awaiting the Max show’s trademark of a murder before the season’s end. Actors like Parker Posey, Walton Goggins and returning star Natasha Rothwell add to the Emmy-winning series’ appeal, but so does another major draw – the location. Season 1 took place in Hawaii, the sophomore installment in Italy and now the current third season has ventured to Southeast Asia to shoot in Thailand — mainly at the Four Seasons in Koh Samui and Anantara Mai Khao in Phuket.
But “The White Lotus” is just one of many film and TV productions — 490 to be exact — that filmed in Thailand in 2024, its highest level since pre-pandemic times. Netflix’s “The Night Agent” shot part of its second season in Bangkok, which is also where FX’s Noah Hawley...

In one of the early scenes of this week’s “The White Lotus,” meditation expert Amrita (Shalini Peiris) offers Rick (Walton Goggins) some sincere advice.
“I hope you will hear me when I say you are not stuck,” she tells him. “You can let go of your story. You can escape the karmic cycle.” The feeling of being trapped is present throughout all of “The White Lotus” Season 3 Episode 4, as is the desire for escape. The seeds of it are planted in the episode’s opening scene, in which Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) tries to convince her younger husband Harrison to return her calls. “I’ll tell you more when you call me back, so call me back,” she says.
That same morning, Jaclyn gets snippy with Kate (Leslie Bibb) when the latter chides her for using her phone at the resort. “Harrison’s gone a little Awol. I think he...
