While Snow White is Disney's latest live-action remake, it appears they are already beginning to shift focus to their next one as they unveiled the first clip for Lilo & Stitch. One of two live-action adaptations of an animated film by Chris Sanders (the other being How to Train Your Dragon) coming in 2025, Lilo & Stitch is looking to be one of the biggest movies of the summer movie season. Marketing is in full swing now, as Disney released a series of fun posters that are a play on the original Lilo & Stitch's marketing where the blue alien crashed iconic Disney sequences.

Even though it has been many years since Bruce Lee's far-too-young tragic death, he continues to intrigue and mystify fans of his legendary work. As a martial artist, actor, and philosopher, Lee used his skill, intellect, and charisma to craft a career that, while relatively short, left its mark. This is why it should come as no surprise that one of our great filmmakers, Ang Lee, has been working on a Bruce Lee biopic for years, and now the director has provided an update on the status of the project.
While speaking with a Chinese outlet, via World of Reel, Lee spoke about his Bruce Lee biopic, following reports that the screenplay was finally done, and the director expressed that it was something that he wanted to get right. The Ice Storm filmmaker said, "It took me several years to figure out how to crack this film and come...

Updated, March 12: Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch approaches, with chaos stemming from the blue creature and the young Hawaiian girl starting in theaters Memorial Day weekend.
“We have apprehended a dangerous experiment,” a commanding voice starts off the official trailer for the film. “Where is he?”
Subordinates answering to their leader in the command center of a spaceship report that “he escaped” after he found the police cruisers and “uh, took the red one.”
As Stitch cackles in the machine and enters the Earth’s atmosphere, Maia Kealoha’s Lilo spots his space ship from her home, thinking it’s a shooting star.
“I wish for a friend,” she says as the green glowing projectile hurtles toward the beaches of Hawaii, cutting to a sequence of Lilo getting pushed down during a hula lesson. “Like a best friend.”

Another teaser trailer for the live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” has been released, with the feral, blue extraterrestrial taking over the football field during the Super Bowl. The brief spot aired early in the game and made it seem initially like there was something wrong with the broadcast, or an unauthorized person accidentally went onto the field.
The remake sees Maia Kealoha star as Lilo Pelekai, while Sydney Agudong plays her older sister, Nani. Stitch is voiced once again by Chris Sanders, returning from the original film. Zach Galifianakis is Stitch’s creator, Dr. Jumba Jookiba, while Billy Magnussen plays Agent Pleakley, who’s sent to accompany the wily doctor. In 1994, Disney released The Jungle Book, a live-action remake of their 1967 classic starring Jason Scott Lee. Though it was liked as a fun adventure movie, it was criticized for not following the original story by Rudyard Kipling and the fact that the animals couldn't speak. Fast-forward to today and live-action remakes are not only coming out quite frequently, but they're also turning in a massive profit for Disney. Four have even made over a billion dollars at the box office.

Disney’s one of the major releases during its post-animation renaissance was the animated 2002 film, Lilo & Stitch. Filmmaker Chris Sanders conceived the idea for the genetically engineered alien creature Stitch in 1985. The film was a huge success and spawned several direct-to-video films and television series. In 2025, the popular franchise will be receiving a live-action/CGI adaptation.

Jean-Claude Van Damme has had a long and storied career, but the follow-up projects to his biggest hit, Timecop, went ahead without him. Hailing from Belgium, the famous "Muscles from Brussels" made the move to Hollywood in the mid-1980s. Once there, Jean-Claude Van Damme came to global prominence with hits such as Bloodsport and Kickboxer.
The 1990s only saw Van Damme's star rise even higher. Alongside Universal Soldier and Hard Target, Van Damme made fan-favorite cameos in such films as Last Action Hero and the ever-popular series Friends. Though there were some missteps, such as the campy 1994 adaptation of Street Fighter, Van Damme nonetheless left an indelible mark on the decade. That was never more true than when he signed on to star in Timecop. Despite receiving middling reviews, Timecop grossed over $100 million at the box office and remains Van Damme's biggest hit to date. Still, he didn't return for the Timecop sequel.

Disney is famous for creating beloved animated classics that audiences want to return to again and again. Many people find a lot of comfort in Disney's style, with its bright colors, iconic music and warm emotional morals. A big part of comfort is nostalgia, so people will all have their own favorites, but there are some Disney animated movies which are better suited to cheering people up in their lowest moments.
A good comfort movie should be easy to engage with. Disney often manages to provide some relatively low stakes drama that still delivers a heartwarming message about family, friendship or life in general. Some of the studio's most comforting classics also have plenty of breezy humor to distract people, and some emotional songs for a cathartic release. The best Disney animated movies can break someone's heart and put it back together again.

For a seemingly very brief period of time, Bruce Lee was one of the most electric personalities in pop culture; a vibrant, intense ball of fire who left the world just as he was becoming one of its most interesting personalities. While he is something of a mythic figure now, more of an image in our minds than a person who actually lived and breathed, Bruce was, like the rest of us, a person who went through highs and lows, who had flaws and inner demons. While a man unlike any other, he was also still just a man.
When he left us far too soon at the age of 32 from a still-disputed ailment, his legend has only grown… Of course, it was inevitable that his wild life would become fodder for a biopic, and in 1993 – twenty years after his death – we finally got one: Rob Cohen’s Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

Lilo & Stitch director Chris Sanders couldn't be happier that the 2002 animated movie has continued to resonate with Disney fans more than 20 years later. While promoting his new animated feature The Wild Robot, Sanders who is also the voice actor for Stitch opened up about the staying power of the franchise's beloved titular characters.
During an interview with Collider, Sanders touched on the franchise's legacy and returning as the voice of Stitch in the upcoming live-action remake. "I like that the story and the characters have endured. It was my wish that the story and characters would have staying power, and I'm really glad that they have," he said. "I've never stopped doing the voice. I do it for all the different stage shows and parades and everything, and it's nice to, several times a year, be able to revisit that character."

Lilo & Stitch is coming back in 2025, and there are good reasons this is one Disney live-action adaptation we're looking forward to!
Disney has been on a tear in the last decade with live-action adaptations of past Disney animated films. While some may slam them as inferior compared to the originals, the box office successes of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid show there is an audience for them. True, some have been less than stellar (Pinocchio), and hopes for the upcoming Snow White are low, to say the least.
Yet Lilo & Stitch is different. The 2002 film was arguably the last great hand-drawn animated Disney film, grossing $273 million. It spawned its own cartoon series spin-off, the Stitch's Great Escape ride at Disney World and the character is still popular. So having it join the live-action trend seems inevitable and there's reasons to be excited for it.

Released originally in 2002, Disney’s Lilo & Stitch is still one of the most beloved and popular animated films of the 21st century. The story of an energetic and misunderstood alien who is a space criminal but is actually a very good guy and his human friend from Hawaii captured the hearts of many fans, both old and young. The film spawned a sequel and several television series, but of course – with Disney recycling its animated films into live-action versions – a live-action adaptation of the movie is on the way, and we can confirm that the movie will be released later this year on Disney+ and that it will be a streaming-exclusive release that won’t be shown in theaters as far as things stand now.
The movie was initially foreshadowed in 2018, but production took a while, being finished after six years, as things stand now. Although we have to be fair,...

The idea of cashing in on a recently deceased celebrity is a shameful one, but when Bruce Lee died in 1973 at the age of just 32, Asian markets — predominately Hong Kong — cornered and spinning heel kicked the market, delivering a wheelhouse of movies that would come to be known as Bruceploitation.
While Bruce Lee could fall under the category of “often imitated, never equaled”, filmmakers and stars behind Bruceploitation worked to keep their hero’s legend thriving on the big screen. One such star of the genre was Wong Kin-lung, who would go on to be known as Bruce Le (get it?). As he put it, “It was almost like an honor,” although the opportunity presented its own challenges. “I thought I could make Bruce Lee-style action my way, because I was a martial arts teacher.”

Appearing on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" (via Variety), actor Jacob Elordi -- who plays Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola's "Priscilla" -- admitted that, prior to portraying the King of Rock and Roll, he only really knew the music legend from ... "Lilo & Stitch." Amusing as that is, truth be told, Disney's beloved animated 2002 sci-fi feature was probably how many members of Generation Z came to learn about The King's existence for the first time, some 20 years before Elordi donned his iconic bell-bottomed white jumpsuit for Coppola's memoir and Austin Butler (permanently?) altered his voice to rock out in Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis."

The iconic quote "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten" reflects the heartfelt theme of family sticking together in Lilo & Stitch. The humorous quote about mosquitoes being an endangered species on Earth adds a ridiculous and funny element to the story. Stitch's quote about his "little and broken" family shows his emotional growth and how Lilo and Nani have influenced him to appreciate the value of family.

Soldier: From Script to Screen
By Danny Stewart
144 pages/BearManor Media/$32 (hardcover) $22 (softcover)
Everyone has their passion, whether it is universally acclaimed or not. Thankfully, BearManor Media provides an outlet for their authors to share that unique passion with those who also find the subject matter of interest.
Here, Danny Stewart delves into the 1998 film Solider, which came and went with little notice when Universe released it. Despite some marquee names making the film, it opened to poor reviews (in addition to 15% at Rotten Tomatoes) and dismal box office, earning a mere $14.6 million against a $60 million budget.
It’s justifiable if you don’t recall or never heard of the film. It was based on a script by the noted screenwriter David Webb Peoples, best known for Blade Runner. Some even call the film a “sidequel” to that classic. Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (best known for the Resident Evil...

This article contains spoilers for Warrior season 3 episode 6.
When it comes to Bruce Lee Easter eggs, Warrior has been cunningly hiding them in plain sight.
From the first season, there were nods like the tong man named Bolo (Rich Ting), a reference to Bolo Yeung who played the villainous killer with the Herculean physique (also named Bolo) in Enter the Dragon. Similar acknowledgements permeate the series, all the way to season three where one of the locations is an ice factory, just like the setting of The Big Boss. When the lead character Ah Sahm strips down to a white wife-beater T-shirt, it evokes Bruce Lee’s bicep revealing attire in The Way of the Dragon. Keen-eyed fans of fight choreography spot quick references to Lee’s timeless action scenes. Some Warrior fight sequences contain sequences that lift directly from Lee’s films, reimagined to fit in the series. The...

A prolific killer who regularly wears a fetching hat, Nick Boon (Neal McDonough) is introduced entering a diner, as the unassuming image contrasts with an informant’s fear-laden monologue of the enforcer’s fearsome nature. Having relocated to a remote area to try and atone for his past sins, Boon also tries evading contract killers that are after him. After an early shootout leaves him wounded, he is tended to by Catherine (Christiane Seidel).
The killer soon becomes drawn into the local preacher’s issues, as the struggling widow and her son live in fear of criminal kingpin Mr. Fitzgerald (Tommy Flanagan). After an encounter with the kingpin’s predatory henchman, Boon becomes determined to protect the family by doing what he does best: killing.

Back in 1998, the legendary Kurt Russell teamed up with Mortal Kombat and Event Horizon director Paul W.S. Anderson for a sci-fi action movie called Soldier – which is considered to be set in the same world as Blade Runner, and also shared screenwriter David Webb Peoples with that Ridley Scott classic. But Soldier came and went without many movie-goers noticing, sputtering out with just $14.6 million at the domestic box office. It has earned some fans over the years, like JoBlo’s own Jake Dee (who wrote about Soldier for the Black Sheep series)… and now author Danny Stewart has put together the book Soldier: From Script to Screen to pay tribute to the film, dig into the story of its production, and try to draw in some new fans.
