It Ends With Us might be one of the most controversial recent films, with the ongoing legal battle and a series of allegations on several sides. However, it was also a huge hit and Colleen Hoover is focused on moving on.
Hoover is arguably one of the most famous romance authors in recent years. The bestselling author has a dedicated fanbase who have been devouring her novels for over a decade, and, following the success of It Ends With Us, her first feature adaptation, she has several other films in the works. Per Deadline,Regretting You has now rounded up its cast and set a release date.
The adaptation of the 2019 novel was announced on Aug. 10, just one day after It Ends With Us' theatrical release on Aug. 9. The first news came with a series of cast members, which would have Allison Williams (M3GAN) as the lead, and later...

It’s quite a week for stunning new entries into the top five most-viewed movies and shows on Netflix. The lists on Tudum have been updated and highlight some very recent releases. Those have added an edge and been popular with viewers, one doing so in spectacular numbers.
The top five shows include a new tough-to-stomach drama with remarkable direction and camerawork. The show has been a major talking point for viewers this week and has had a huge number of views. It’s joined by two other new releases and a couple of recent favorites.
On the movie list, one new release has been much-awaited but may be a letdown if the critics are right. But then the viewers themselves have the real say, and it has attracted plenty of them so far. Once again there is plenty of variety and something for all the family among the top five movies.

It was time for Group B to take to the stage for the last time until the final two would join the Lucky Six. That meant The Masked Singer season 13, episode 6 revealed another celebrity.
The episode brought us Country Night, but it also brought us a guest panelist. Rita Ora wasn’t there, meaning that Casey Wilson stepped in. And yes, Casey did finally say a name that we’d been thinking for the last couple of weeks as we looked at more of the clues.
Who was eliminated in The Masked Singer season 13, episode 6?
There were only three left to perform in the episode. Pearl, Boogie Woogie, and Griffin went up against each other, sharing some heartfelt songs and clues to help the panelists figure out who they were. With three great performances, it was hard to pick one to leave.

Hold on to your cowboy hats, it’s Grand Ole Opry night on The Masked Singer.
Boogie Woogie, Griffin, and Pearl channelled iconic country superstars while performing in front of panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and comedian Casey Wilson (who sat in for Rita Ora). The hoedown closed with an epic Battle Royale that determined which mystery superstar would be unmasked. Nick Cannon hosted the all-new “Group B Finals” episode of The Masked Singer on Wednesday, March 19 (8 p.m. Et/Pt) on Fox.
Pearl
Country night got started with the one and only Pearl. Here's a few clues she dropped before taking the stage: "The biggest stars have performed at the Opry, but there's one that shines brighter than the rest — Dolly Parton. Like everyone, I was dazzled by her. So when I was invited to share the stage with her, you can imagine my first thought: What would I wear?...

The film has gone into production, as evidenced by some snapshots shown below of two of its costars filming a scene in New York City last week.

It Ends With Us starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni was just the beginning of the author’s extension into film and television. With the film adaptation of the best-selling book out now in theaters, the author has other works in production, one recently announced and one a little farther along.

M. Night Shyamalan is known for his psychological, twisty thrillers. While the filmmaker's legacy mostly consists of earlier projects, his latest title has proven that viewers are still interested in his projects.
Shyamalan released Trap in 2024, his first project with Warner Bros. after switching from Universal Studios. Although the psychological thriller didn't impress critics, despite revealing the major twist in the trailer, the movie became a major commercial hit. Its success didn't stop in theaters. Trap is currently finding new success on streaming, per Tudum. Shortly afterdebuting on Netflix, Trap entered the global Top 10 charts in fourth place.
In its first week, the movie attracted 6.7 million views and 11.8 million hours viewed. This isn't the film's only feat, as these numbers come from the U.S. alone, the only territory that introduced the film on the platform. On the domestic charts, Trap is in fourth place, just behind The Electric State and Kraven the Hunter,...

Over the last decade, Maika Monroe has emerged as one of Hollywood's go-to scream queens, notching up a slew of memorable performances in the likes of It Follows, The Guest, Watcher, and, most recently, Osgood Perkins' 'Satanic panic' psychological chiller Longlegs. And now, having just wrapped production on another genre piece, Michelle Garza Cervera's upcoming remake of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, Monroe is looking to switch it up with a starring role in Reminders Of Him, a Universal bound adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling romantic drama.
Per THR's reporting, Monroe has already closed a deal to star in the Universal picture, with Love At First Sight director Vanessa Caswill aboard to helm the project. Described by the studio as "a transformative feature film about motherhood, forgiveness and the power of one love to heal even the most shattered heart," Reminders Of Him will see Monroe play Keena Rowan,...

If there’s anyone sandwiched between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s feud, it’s Colleen Hoover. The author has proclaimed support for the actress following allegations of misconduct leveled against the director, but it seems like Hoover is no longer in a good position after a disturbing social media post got many fans worried about her own stability.

Dakota Johnson is a matchmaker who gets more than she bargained for in the new trailer for Materialists. The rom-com-with-a-twist comes from the writer/director of the Academy Award-nominated film Past Lives. The film was first announced in February 2024, with producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler of Killer Films attached to the project, along with David Hinojosa of the 2Am production company. The trailer from A24 just dropped.
Materialists stars Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal. The very brief plot synopsis reads, “A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.” The trailer also features a new original song by Japanese Breakfast. Pedro Pascal takes a break from his usual intense action/dramatic roles for a change of pace with this film as he swoops in as a romantic lead to sweep Johnson off her feet. However, it seems that almost immediately,...

The British anthology series Black Mirror has captivated fans since it launched in 2011. Created by Charlie Brooker, the sci-fi, high-tech-charged, The Twilight Zone-like anthology series moved to Netflix after its first two series when four more were released in 2016, 2017, 2019, and, after a long wait, 2023. There was also the 2014 “White Christmas” special starring Jon Hamm and the interactive movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Each season offers unique, standalone stories that run the gamut, serving as cautionary tales about technology taken too far.
Almost two years after the sixth season graced fans with a mixed bag of episodes, including the stand-out “Beyond the Sea” episode starring Aaron Paul and Josh Hartnett as astronauts in space able to transfer their consciousnesses to body replicas back on Earth, a seventh season is forthcoming. And it promises to be wild in more ways than one.

Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton) is in negotiations to star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal (Road House) in the next project from M. Night Shyamalan, which is being billed as a supernatural romantic thriller.
We know little about the project, except that it’s based on an original story created by Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks—yes, that Nicholas Sparks. Shyamalan will write the screenplay, and Sparks will write the novel. Both will be based on the same concept and set of characters but designed for their individual mediums. I’m interested to see how this one turns out.

To call M. Night Shyamalan's filmography a "mixed bag" is an understatement — for every "The Sixth Sense," you get "The Happening" — but I'm beyond pleased to say that the Philadelphia-loving writer, director, and producer really knocked it out of the park with his 2024 film "Trap." Apparently, people on Netflix are noticing, because according to FlixPatrol, it's crushing it on the streamer.
If you're unfamiliar with "Trap," first of all, I'm so sorry. Second of all, you should go and watch "Trap," because it rules ... and again, it's easy to do if you have a Netflix subscription. As Shyamalan himself described it, "Trap" is what you would get if you mixed Jonathan Demme's Oscar-winning crime drama "Silence of the Lambs" with Taylor Swift's billion-dollar grossing, culture-commanding Eras Tour, and the result is incredible; as if that wasn't a good enough elevator pitch, the movie is also based on a real sting operation,...

The drama surrounding Justin Baldoni's It Ends With Us may be ongoing, but Colleen Hoover fans are looking toward the author's next adaptation, Verity. Set to hit theaters next year, we now have our first look at cast members Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett in the new psychological thriller, and in stark contrast to last year's Blake Lively film, this one is a lot bloodier.
Photos have surfaced online (seen below) showing Johnson on the set of Verity wearing a long peacoat and headphones, and in a few of the images, her face and neck are covered in blood as Hartnett guides her across a busy street. Another image shows her with a vape, while others have her in her own little world as she walks down the sidewalk with her headphones on, tuning out the surrounding noise. Have you noticed that whenever a new movie pops up on Netflix with no advance notice, it tends to be - um, how do I say this - less than successful? The latest addition to their slate is another example of this practice.
We try to be diligent when we write about the coming attractions on your favorite streaming service. Inevitably, Netflix will throw a pretty big title into the lineup with little to no fanfare. Even Netflix's own announcement page leaves a lot of films out in the cold until they suddenly appear.
It's as if they haven't worked out the rights to the movies and shows months in advance but find them left on their corporate doorstep like sad little orphans. Like Venom: the Last Dance popping up out of nowhere.
A case in point is a thriller that debuted in theaters to pretty good numbers, $22 million in its first week.

Trap, the controversial 2024 thrillerstarring Josh Hartnett, has just arrived on a new streaming platform. The film was surprisingly added to Netflix's catalog, and subscribers can already stream one of the most divisive thrillers of last year and M. Night Shyamalan's latest attempt to show he's still got it.
Not only did Trap arrive without much fanfare on Netflix, but it has also climbed the charts of the streamer. At the time of writing, Trap sits on the second spot in Netflix's top 10 list of most popular films. Other titles currently on the list include two Friday films, Denis Villeneuve's Sicario, Despicable Me 4, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Written and directed by Shyamalan, the film follows Cooper (Hartnett), a father who has decided to join his daughter, Riley (Ariel Donoghue), at a concert featuring her favorite artist, Lady Raven (Saleka Night Shyamalan). As he arrives at the venue,...

I bet you didn’t quite picture a blonde Josh Hartnett as an action hero, but given the man has played literally everything of late, including a psychopathic serial killer—in M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap—it shouldn’t come as a surprise. We’ve sort of been witnessing a career revival of the actor for the past few years, and if James Madigan’s Fight or Flight is anything to go by, then there’s no stopping the man. Hartnett is a scene-stealer in the movie, which isn’t anything that you haven’t seen before, but the bold, over-the-top approach does the trick here. Not to mention, the action choreography is pretty spectacular and extremely fun to watch if you’re an action junkie. In this article, we’re going to discuss the story of Fight or Flight and also the possibility of it getting a sequel. Let’s take off.

Everybody wants rom-coms to have a renaissance, but nobody seems to know how they should evolve to reflect the realities of the modern world. Few of the recent efforts to resurrect the form have been meaningfully successful, and most of those rare successes have used hot new stars to hide their reliance on dusty old tropes; no shade to the breezy appeal of “Anyone but You,” but no one would accuse that Shakespeare-inspired charmer of trying to move the genre forward.
The prevailing wisdom is that the unfettered wish fulfillment of movies like “Sleepless in Seattle” (or whatever) is a poor fit for the messiness of the digital age, even if it really had more to do with the fact that social media has made it hard to write a decent meet-cute, and the streaming boom gave Hollywood studios an excuse to stop trying. Miramax Films’ musical fantasy comedy Ella Enchanted will officially be heading to a brand-new streaming home soon. The 2004 movie was led by Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway in one of her earliest movie roles, following the success of 2001’s The Princess Diaries.
Beginning on March 6, Ella Enchanted will be available for streaming on Prime Video. In the film, Hathaway portrayed the titular role of Ella, a young woman whose fairy godmother granted her the magical gift of obedience. This ability requires her to immediately obey any command she has been given. However, as she grows up, this so-called gift proves to be more of a curse than a blessing, since it gives anyone the power to take advantage of her. During its theatrical run, it received negative reviews from critics and fans of the novel, with a Tomatometer rating of 51% on Rotten Tomatoes. This was due to its lack of faithfulness from the original source material.

Ranking any performer's filmography comes with the need for at least some clarification, and that's especially true when it comes to action stars. Are they being ranked on the performance, the amazing action they deliver, or on the quality of the film as a whole? Are all films eligible or just the ones where the performer has a lead role? Does more action automatically land a film higher on the list? Does the person doing the ranking have impeccable taste when it comes to action cinema?
Below you'll find a ranking of Jason Statham movies, and here are the answers to those questions above. The films are ranked on their overall value as action films. We're focusing on Statham's lead roles -- otherwise "Spy" would dominate the top spot (and "The Way of the Dragon" would have made our ranked list of the best Chuck Norris films) -- whether as...

Romance and war seem like strange bedfellows, but cinema has shown time and time again that the pair naturally work together. The inherent violent and grim nature of war can serve as the perfect storytelling counterpoint to the joys of love. Moreover, war is incredibly dangerous, and this creates an ever-present risk to lovers and often creates a plot obstacle for them to overcome.
Predictably, not all wartime romances end with a 'happily ever after,' but bittersweet tales of a passionate love well lived can be heartwarming in their own right. On the other hand, when the audience encounters one of those few miraculous couples who manage to defy the odds, it's incredibly uplifting. No matter the region or the battle being fought, films have proven that love blossoms despite all odds.

Since the Golden Age of Hollywood, gangsters have dominated the crime genre, with films like The Untouchables and Scarface exploring the lives of notorious mob bosses and drug kingpins. For some, these films represent the pinnacle of genres like thriller, crime, and drama, typically thanks to the great alignment of cast, writer, and director. Despite their violent nature, these films appeal to people of all stripes, often reinventing cinema altogether through their success.
Gangster movies vary in scale, with modern classics like Sexy Beast and A History of Violence making great use of relatively small casts. Other movies have reeled in audiences through their assembly of some of the biggest and most talented stars of their era, often turning in career-best performances. Through these movies, fans have been shown the inner workings of some of America's most dangerous criminal organizations -- even if they play fast and loose with the facts.

Jason Statham has done a violent dance movie villains on land, sea, and occasionally even in the air, but in Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, he relies a little more on some witty banter than straight-up bruiser tactics to deal with his adversaries. The British tough guy leads Guy Ritchie’s action caper, which sees him teaming up with Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes, Josh Hartnett, and a movie-stealing Hugh Grant in full Trump-tan, and pulls out a performance that audiences loved when the film was originally released in 2023.
The film operates in familiar territory for anyone who has followed Statham’s roles in his spy-orientated mode. This time around, he stars as Orson Fortune, a covert operative whose skill set and deadpan snark make comparisons to a certain British super spy inevitable, even if he likes to get a little more down and dirty than any 007 ever did. 30 Days of Night, the vampire horror film starring Josh Hartnett in one of his best films and underrated performances, is now on a new streaming home this February, giving fans yet another opportunity to see the wildly polarizing film of 2007. As of February 1, Josh Hartnett's fans will be able to stream 30 Days of Night on Peacock with a subscription. The film returns to streaming after being exclusively available for digital purchase or rent for some time. It's still undetermined how long it will stay on Peacock, but films that are relatively obscure don't spend much time on streaming services. You better hurry up.
Directed by David Slade, of Black Mirror and Hannibal fame, 30 Days of Night stars Hartnett alongside Danny Huston, Melissa George, Ben Foster and Mark Boone Junior, among others. The vampire film is based on the comic book series of the same name by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith.

Following the success of that film, they seem to have the pick of many a horror project in Hollywood.
For Drew Hancock, that next project could well be a remake of the 1998 high school horror, The Faculty.
The original featured an ensemble of young talent including a young Elijah Wood and Josh Hartnett and was a fun film, a kind of late 90s teen horror spin on Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Salma Hayek popped up, as did Robert Patrick and Famke Janssen. With Robert Rodriguez directing, the movie possessed his trademark kinetic style,...
