Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will perform a free concert on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach on May 3.

“I’ve been dying to come perform for you for years and was heartbroken when I had to cancel years ago because I was hospitalized,” Gaga said Friday on social media.

In 2017, she canceled a performance at Rock in Rio for medical reasons. At the time, she apologized and said she needed to focus on her health.

“I am now coming back and I feel better than ever and am working so hard to make sure this show is one you will never forget,” she added.

The Queen of Pop stopped by the Comedy Cellar on Saturday night thanks to an invitation from her buddy Amy Schumer, performing a full 30-minute set at the iconic club. According to the tabloid, it was a bit of a rough night for Madonna.

Not many artists can claim they have been performing in Las Vegas for 50 years. With the opening of her latest residency at the Resorts World Theatre on Monday, Janet Jackson celebrated her golden anniversary on the Strip — she first took the stage alongside the entire family, including her brothers, The Jackson 5, in 1974 at the MGM. Mother Katherine Jackson and Tyler Perry were in the sold-out crowd for opening night.

“Janet Jackson: Las Vegas” is the follow-up to 2019’s “Metamorphosis” at Park MGM and closely follows the playbook of her 2023-24 “Together Again” tour, with night one carrying some major surprises with both live debuts and songs not performed live in many years. While some artists stack their Vegas residencies with the greatest hits, Jackson’s setlist is more like an encyclopedia of her career — two hours, 43 songs, iconic choreography and a recall of many of the fashion moments that made her a pop culture icon.

The legendary entertainer began her 2024-2025 residency on Monday night (December 30) at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas.

Janet previously performed an 18-show residency titled Metamorphosis at the Park MGM’s Park Theater back in 2019 and this is her first time performing in Vegas since then. She is currently scheduled for 10 shows that will be performed through February 15, 2025.

Justin Timberlake was performing on Thursday, December 12 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Part of his performance involves wearing a tight-fitting harness. Normally, his performance of “Mirrors” involves rising up above the crowd to dramatic effect. It’s no Pink at the 2009 VMAs, but it’s a sight to behold.

This time, however, the harness was a little too snug.

Spike Lee is detailing what made him say “hell no” while filming his Oscar-winning biopic “Malcolm X.”

The feature, which starred Denzel Washington as the civil rights leader, was “shut down” by Warner Brothers due to budget concerns. One particular sticking point the studio had, according to Lee, was why the auteur wanted to film on location in Saudi Arabia for the Mecca scenes. Warner Brothers actually asked if Lee could instead make the Jersey Shore look like the Middle East in the epic film.

“Instead of shooting in Saudi Arabia, they said, why not shoot in the Jersey Shore in January?” Lee told Variety while at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, where he is serving as the jury president. “I said, ‘Hell no!’ and Warner Brothers shut down the film.”
