In a world with serial killers bonded to alien symbiotes, mad scientists that have robotic appendages, and some villains are literally born in Hell, it's an impressive feat one of the Marvel universe's most feared foes is Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin of Crime. Debuting in Amazing Spider-Man #50 and inspired by classic Hollywood actor Sydney Greenstreet, Fisk shifted his focus to the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, trying a number of tactics to bring down Daredevil and demonstrating just how far he's willing to go to take down the Man Without Fear and a host of other heroes who thought crossing him was a good idea.

Lou Ferrigno will always be best known for playing the title character in the 1977 – 1982 TV series The Incredible Hulk and its TV movie follow-ups, but he has continued working steadily over the decades. He doesn’t have as many cool action movies to his name as he should, but he has a few – and now that we know about it, we have our fingers crossed that the upcoming martial arts thriller Hard Redemption is going to be one of his best.
Deadline broke the news that Hard Redemption, which is directed and produced by Jino Kang and Christine Lam, is in post-production and will be released by Fairway Films Alliance sometime in 2025.
Here’s the film’s quite lengthy and informative synopsis: Bryan, a Korean American teenager who wants out of his ruthless gang the Goblins, setting the stage for gang retribution against him. On his first day of Ged summer school for at-risk students,...

To date, 5 Hulks have been seen under the MCU umbrella. Three are green: Bruce Banner’s (Mark Ruffalo) Hulk, Jennifer Walters’ (Tatiana Maslany) She-Hulk, and Skaar (Wil Deusner), seen in the last episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Happy Hogan’s (Jon Favreau) becomes Purple Hulk in the What If...? episode, "What If... Happy Hogan Saved Christmas," (because nothing's more festive than Grimace Hulk), and now President Ross’ (Harrison Ford) Red Hulk. A casual fan who only knows Hulk as green from his Lou Ferrigno days forward might suspect the different colors are a creative choice for aesthetics, but there is precedent. If we go by the comics, there are, in fact, 8 more colors that have yet to appear in the MCU.

The 1990s are often considered the golden age of sitcoms. These shows didn't hesitate to showcase the highs and lows of normal life and managed to make them laugh-out-loud funny. They also prompted the careers of stunning actors, most of whom have gone on to become household names.
Yet, since many of these shows were so successful, a lot of them used a lot of similar themes. Whether it was a unique type of character or a type of running gag, these motifs signify what's so great about these sitcoms. So, even though certain themes might get a bit repetitive, fans still adore them.
Everyone Talks to Their Neighbors The King of Queens
Most people give their neighbors a friendly wave and leave things at that. Yet, in the world of '90s sitcoms, it seems that all of the characters are quite happy to live in each other's pockets.

Revered French auteur Claire Denis is in advanced talks to direct cannibalistic crime drama “The Soap Maker.”
The project, being shopped around at Berlin’s EFM, is an updated remake of Italian director Mauro Bolognini’s 1977 cult movie “Gran Bollito,” which starred Shelley Winters as a serial killer who cooked the bodies of her victims into soap, cake and cookies.
The English-language film is inspired by the true story of Italy’s Leonarda Cianciulli, who in the late 1930s and early ’40s murdered three local women in the central Italian town of Correggio and disposed of their bodies with chemicals — using what was left to make soaps, candles, cookies and cakes that she shared with people in her community.
“The Soap Maker,” which is lead-produced by the Los Angeles- and New York-based Gerry Pass via his Chrome Entertainment shingle, is being packaged by CAA and has been pitched to prospective buyers at the EFM.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has turned plenty of less famous Marvel characters into big-screen icons. From Rocket Raccoon and Scarlet Witch to the Falcon, the Eternals, and even Hawkeye. That trend has continued in the franchise's Disney+ era, with spin-off shows focusing on lesser-known heroes like Moon Knight and She-Hulk. In the latter case, however, previous attempts had been made to adapt the green-skinned heroine for the screen. All ended in roadblocks before Tatiana Maslany finally brought the role to life.

While actor Lou Ferrigno may be best known for playing the titular Hulk on the CBS TV series The Incredible Hulkfrom 1977 to 1982, he’s now starring as a completely different type of “monster.” Ferrigno spoke with Variety about his role as a lone pig farmer living in the woods in the new horror-thriller movieThe Hermit.
"This guy, he’s kind of possessed. So you see the pain. You see the demons in him,” Ferrigno said. The actor, who was last seen in the 2022 Paramount+ miniseries The Offer, stars in The Hermit as a larger-than-life pig farmer whose mother taught him how to cook humans and turn them into jerky.
The film’s official logline reads: “Dragged on a vacation to the woods, two self-absorbed teens named Lisa (Supergirl’sMalina Weissman) and Eric (Anthony Turpel of That ‘90s Show) venture off trail, stumble across a farm, go in, see animal heads...

Famed bodybuilder and “The Incredible Hulk” star Lou Ferrigno clearly enjoyed playing a murderous, cannibalistic pig farmer in horror film “The Hermit,” marking his first creature role since the CBS TV series in which he played a raging green monster.
“This guy, he’s kind of possessed,” Ferrigno tells Variety. “So you see the pain. You see the demons in him.”
Los Angeles-based sales company Scatena & Rosner Films is at the European Film Market with the completed cut of horror film “The Hermit,” in which Ferrigno plays a gigantic pig farmer whose mother taught him how to cook humans and make them into jerky. It’s fair to assume that when most people think of Marvel movies, they immediately think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That certainly stands out as one of the most universally-known aspects of Marvel, with groundbreaking films like The Avengers making up the vast MCU landscape. But, of course, the MCU doesn’t even begin to cover every story in the Marvel Comics repertoire, and Marvel movies existed long before Phase One started.
A long-discussed subject among Marvel fans is the question of which movie was Marvel’s first. It’s perhaps an explainable course of conversation, given Marvel’s history. Marvel Comics wasn’t known by that name for decades before the 1960s when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby entered the picture. The Silver Age of Comics is when Marvel became Marvel, and characters like the X-Men and Spider-Man were born in that period. Since they dominated the comic industry for generations,...

Fans of The Incredible Hulk: The Animated Series may be surprised to discover that the 1990s animated series featured an impressive roster of voice talent, including several famous faces from Hollywood and beyond. The Incredible Hulk: Tas brought a swathe of classic Marvel characters to life as part of Marvel’s animated universe. These were played by actors, many of whom were already household names or rising stars, bringing depth and charisma to the characters they portrayed.
Airing from 1996 to 1997, The Incredible Hulk: The Animated Series followed Bruce Banner’s tragic struggle to control his monstrous alter ego. With its darker tone, the series explored themes of isolation, redemption, and identity, often featuring guest appearances by Marvel superheroes and villains. Alongside its gripping narratives, the show boasted an ensemble of voice actors whose performances elevated the storytelling. Many of these made huge contributions to the very best episodes of The Incredible Hulk: The Animated Series.

The actor who portrayed the original live-action Hulk just gave some sound advice on how the MCU should handle its own Hulk in the future. Hulk is one of Marvel’s most enduring characters, with four actors portraying the Jade Giant (with one more portraying Bruce Banner) across several live-action TV and movie adaptations. Discussions about which live-action Hulk is best are among the most divisive for Marvel fans, but it's safe to say that Mark Ruffalo's Hulk has had plenty of time to make a strong impression as the definitive rendition - but it could be better.

"Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry." And indeed, most would not. Pretty much every Marvel fan knows the score by now, when mild-mannered Dr. Bruce Banner loses control, he transforms into the towering, green-skinned, musclebound Hulk.
But the Green Goliath has undergone some sizable changes during his recent tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and not everyone has welcomed it.

The Bruce Banner story that Marvel has forgotten could finally be delivered by the Hulk's true MCU replacement in an unexpected film: Thunderbolts*. As one of three upcoming Marvel movies in 2025, Thunderbolts* is highly anticipated. While The Fantastic Four: First Steps is bringing back Marvel's beloved first family and Captain America: Brave New World is giving Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson his first proper outing as the titular character, the story of Thunderbolts* is perhaps the more intriguing of the three.
The reason for this stems not only from Thunderbolts* cast of characters and how they will interact as a new MCU team but also from the more mysterious elements of the film's set-up. Firstly, there is the ever-puzzling Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and what she truly wants in the MCU. Secondly, there is the intriguing inclusion of Bob in the 2025 Marvel movie. The Hermit is an upcoming horror film starring Lou Ferrigno and there have been a few updates about the movie. Lou Ferrigno is best known for his portrayal of the Incredible Hulk in the original series and, since then, most of his roles in films and TV shows have been riffing on that character. There's been a few notable times he's strayed from his more parody-centric performances, like in 2019's Ring Ring where he plays Mr. Daniel, or in Trauma Center, where he appeared as the recurring character John Six.
For most people, he will always be the Hulk. Lou Ferrigno's version of the Hulk was much scarier than the one most people know thanks to Mark Ruffalo's performance as Bruce Banner and his alter ego in the MCU. Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk became the definitive one for the MCU due to the actor’s incredible performance as Dr. Bruce Banner. The actor replaced Edward Norton after the Fight Club star was found to have meddled too much with the film that Marvel wanted to make in The Incredible Hulk. Starting with The Avengers, Ruffalo has been a franchise regular.

Given that the character is known for his wild rages and tendency to yell the phrase "Hulk smash!," it's curious that Kenneth Johnson's 1970s TV series "The Incredible Hulk" should be as melancholy as it is. Series protagonist David Banner (Bill Bixby) is depicted as a lonely, tragic figure, hating the fact that he, when enraged, turns into a green monster (played by superstar bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno). Indeed, in the TV show -- unlike the original Marvel comic books -- Dr. Banner first started experimenting with strength-giving radiation after he witnessed his wife die in a car crash. He had heard the stories of certain people summoning great strength in emergencies, and wanted to give himself that strength permanently, using it to fight off the trauma and sadness he always carried around.
Then, once he managed to accidentally give himself Hulk strength, it immediately divided Dr. Banner from the rest of society.

Not all MCU films have done exceptionally well at the box office, but that does not mean that they are bad. Some low-grossing MCU films like Eternals and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have lessons for Marvel to learn from for future movies. Iron Man may not be a top-grossing MCU film, but it remains one of the franchise's best due to its impact and quality.

Tim Blake Nelson lets fans know that his character, The Leader in Captain America: Brave New World, will be brought to life through makeup as opposed to visual effects. Nelson was there at the very beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in their second film, The Incredible Hulk, playing the character of Samuel Sterns, who fans know as one of the Hulk's greatest enemies, The Leader. It has been over sixteen years since The Incredible Hulk teased The Leader, and in 2025, fans will finally get to see this setup pay off.
Nelson was in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con during the Marvel Studios Hall H Presentation, and afterward, he spoke with Comicbook about what fans can expect from The Leader. He spoke about how he begged Marvel Studios for his character to be brought to life through make-up so he could feel it but also, so the other actors could respond to it.

There has been a huge amount of speculation that the Hulk will appear in the McU's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. While there are several options, I would love to see Lou Ferrigno's version of the Hulk return in Deadpool & Wolverine. Ferrigno has criticized the McU's current version of the Hulk, so he could return to bring back a more brutal and savage iteration of the character.
I want one very different version of the Hulk, who nobody has been talking about, to return in Marvel Studios' upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's debut in the MCU proper is expected to feature a huge number of cameos, bringing back characters from Fox's X-Men franchise and the MCU itself. Theories have been rife regarding who might pop up in the upcoming Phase 5 movie, but one has prevailed more than others, and I, for one, would love...

Nobody would believe that Matthew McConaughey, of all people, would secretly be a huge Hulk fan and even aspire to play the character on screens. But it’s true! While he once turned down a Marvel role, not for Hulk, mind you, but speculatively for a Guardians of the Galaxy baddie.

Iron Man was essential to the success of the MCU, setting the stage for future Marvel projects. Robert Downey Jr. had better roles in certain MCU movies, notably Avengers: Endgame, showcasing Tony Stark's evolution. Iron Man made sacrifices along the way, solidifying his place as the ultimate MCU hero.

New fan art imagines Deadpool and the Hulk fighting in the MCU. The Hulk has been heavily rumored to be appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine. Deadpool & Wolverine could include any version of the Hulk, including those played by Mark Ruffalo, Edward Norton, Eric Bana, or Lou Ferrigno.
Following recent speculation, new MCU fan art imagines Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth going toe-to-toe with the Hulk in Deadpool & Wolverine. It's known that Phase 5's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine will feature a huge number of cameos, which will likely include returning characters from both the MCU and Fox's X-Men franchise. Given his connections to both Deadpool and Wolverine in Marvel Comics, there are suspicions that Bruce Banner's Hulk could appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, which could set up one of the McU's most-wanted battles.

Rememberable casting choices in Marvel movies have saved forgettable films from fading into obscurity. Actors like Sam Rockwell, Andrew Garfield, and James Spader have elevated somewhat forgettable Marvel movies. Other strong actors in less memorable Marvel films include Florence Pugh, Christian Bale, Emma Stone, and Iman Vellani.
Be it within the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the various other franchises based on Marvel Comics, several forgettable movies have been crafted that have been saved by specific casting choices. While the MCU is often praised for its casting decisions, it remains the case that most projects based on Marvel properties have succeeded in finding great actors to portray iconic superheroes. This is no more evident than in the Marvel movies releasing in 2024, with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool headlining a film as two of the best superhero casting choices in history.

Many 2000s comedy movies didn't age well, but I LoveYou, Man still holds up. The movie focuses on an unlikely friendship that forms before the main characters' wedding. I Love You, Man is a hilarious movie, but it also takes the friendship between Peter and Sydney seriously. It's one of the few movies that explore healthy platonic relationships between men.
The 2000s are known for many tacky and problematic comedy movies, but one outstanding film escaped this trend. Released in 2009, I Love You, Man is a funny, heartwarming comedy that explores male friendship sensitively and intelligently, ahead of its time. With Paul Rudd and Jason Segel playing the characters of Peter and Sydney, the film follows the comedy duo through various shenanigans. However, I Love You, Man offers more than hilarious scenes and amazing quotable dialogue. It also discusses toxic masculinity, the importance of intimate friendships among men, and healthy romantic relationships.

Prior to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, non-mcu Marvel movies often failed to capture the magic of the comics, leading Marvel to sell the movie rights to other production studios. Despite Disney's purchase of Marvel Entertainment, some film rights still belong to other studios, resulting in separate franchises like X-Men and Spider-Man outside the MCU. Many non-mcu Marvel movies, such as the Hulk and the original Spider-Man adaptations, are stylistically different from the MCU but remain watchable and enjoyable in their own right.

Almost exactly two years have gone by since it was announced that the Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno, had signed on to star in the horror film The Hermit, a project that will see him taking on the role of a cannibalistic pig farmer who makes and sells jerky made of human flesh. Scatena & Rosner Films has acquired the worldwide rights to The Hermit, which is currently in post-production, and will be launching distribution sales at the Cannes Film Market.

When Marvel released The Avengers in 2012, it was viewed as a risky gamble. Although it is now relatively simple for the MCU to release a big movie starring a large cast of A-list actors, the studio set a new precedent with The Avengers. While the MCU has done well at replicating that success, no other studio seems to have come close.
Even with the film’s phenomenal success and intriguing financial flow, it is still surprising that most people are ignorant of certain facts about it. In Old Man Logan, fans meet an older Hulk who has become a terrifying villain. After Hulk and Wolverine tangle, the Green Goliath threatens, "You shouldn't have made me angry, Logan. People **** themselves when I get angry." It's a vulgar take on the catchphrase made iconic by Lou Ferrigno's The Incredible Hulk, but given a dark twist for Marvel's post-apocalypse.
The Hulk's catchphrase is one of the most iconic in superhero media, popularized by Lou Ferrigno's depiction of the Jade Giant in The Incredible Hulk, which ran from 1977 to 1982. When Robert Bruce Banner (David Banner on the show) feels his rage building, he offers his antagonist a fair warning: "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." Of course, Banner's warning is more literal than his enemies know, as rage activates his latent gamma powers, transforming him into the behemoth known as the Hulk.

Lou Ferrigno thinks Smart Hulk lacks depth and authenticity. The character's inner conflict makes the Hulk interesting. The rumored World War Hulk movie could bring back an angry Hulk to the MCU.
The original live-action Hulk actor believes it is time to make the Hulk scary again, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be better for it. Edward Norton originated the Bruce Banner seen in the MCU, though the character would really become popular in the shared universe after Mark Ruffalo took over the role in 2012's The Avengers. Since then, Ruffalo has become the longest-running live-action Hulk actor, playing different sides of one of Marvel's most powerful heroes and the scientist Bruce Banner. Despite only having a single solo movie, the McU's Hulk has gone through major changes.

Marvel movies predate the MCU by decades, and Hulk starred in some TV movies in the 1970s. Lou Ferrigno's portrayal of the Hulk is iconic, with his impact on the character recognized in cameos such as in the 2008 MCU film "The Incredible Hulk." Thor and Hulk's rivalry is a longstanding tradition in Marvel Comics, echoing their competition for strength and dominance on the big screen over the years.
It can be easy to forget that Marvel movies were around decades before the MCU, and one from 36 years ago was mirrored in the first fight between heroes in The Avengers. Marvel movies go back as far as 1944 when Captain America starred in a serial film. After that, Marvel heroes would not appear on the big screen for decades, with renewed output only resuming en masse in the 1970s. It was during this decade that mostly direct-to-tv Marvel films, including Doctor Strange and Spider-Man,...

A Hulk and Daredevil team-up would recreate a 35-year-old made-for-tv movie. Daredevil's history with the Hulk could provide an intriguing storyline, especially given his interactions with Peter Parker. The Trial of the Incredible Hulk saw Matt Murdock defend Bruce in court.
A story told by a 35-year-old Marvel movie could comprise the perfect story for Daredevil's MCU introduction in Daredevil: Born Again to reimagine. After the original series' MCU canonicity was stuck in limbo for several years, Charlie Cox's version of Matt Murdock is confirmed to be joining the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again. Since being confirmed, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the show that will reportedly reintroduce several fan-favorite Daredevil characters like Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, and Punisher, to name a few.
The show will also navigate the Man Without Fear's arrival into the official MCU timeline, and his inevitable interactions with long-established characters.

Mark Ruffalo is the sole Hulk actor yet to include a Lou Ferrigno cameo in any project. Ruffalo's Hulk might not be getting a solo movie in the MCU, so he might not share the screen with Ferrigno. Ferrigno has critiqued McU's portrayal of Hulk for being too CGI-driven and lacking his intended ferocity.
Mark Ruffalo has played the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Hulk for over a decade, but he has become the only Hulk actor to break a 21-year-old Marvel cameo trend. The MCU has brought some of the most popular characters from Marvel Comics to life, though not all of them have had smooth transitions to the big screen. Falling into the latter category is Bruce Banner/Hulk, who, even though he is now best known for Mark Ruffalo’s performance, had a very different start in the MCU.
