South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut was a solid hit when it came out back in the summer of 1999, raking in more than $83 million at the global box office. Pretty good for an R-rated cartoon, but not quite as good as movies like You’ve Got Mail and Stepmom.
But just think of how much money it would have made had everyone that saw the South Park movie in theaters actually bought a ticket for it.
When Bigger, Longer & Uncut was released, a lot of South Park fans under the age of 17 wanted to see the movie, but had trouble buying tickets due to the R rating, which probably wasn’t a shock to creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, considering that the inciting incident of the film’s story involves the kids sneaking into Terrance and Phillip’s R-rated Asses of Fire.
What Parker and Stone couldn’t have anticipated...

Smith is just one name in an all-star creative line-up which will be gathered together in one oversized special set to be released in June.
Announced via Marvel.com, Giant-Size Spider-Man #1 will feature three stories from the creative teams of Kevin Smith & Giuseppe Camuncoli, Al Ewing & Mark Buckingham and Chip Zdarsky & Cafu.

There have been rumblings of a remake of the classic Stephen King adaptation Cujo for a long time – in fact, one was officially announced way back in 2013. In 2015, we heard that the remake had taken an unexpected turn, reimagining the name Cujo as an acronym that stood for Canine Unit Joint Operations. That project seemed to be scrapped when King got the rights to the story back in 2017… But last week, we learned that the Cujo remake has found a new home: the Netflix streaming service. And now, industry scooper Jeff Sneider of The InSneider reports that a director might be close to signing on to the project, as Darren Aronofsky is said to be in negotiations to take the helm.
Aronofsky’s previous directorial efforts include Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan, Noah, mother!, and The Whale.

Daredevil: Born Again is now streaming on Disney+ and production on season 2 is already underway. The plan is for this to be a multi-year series, and if the idea is to adapt "Devil's Reign" across the first two seasons, what could the Man Without Fear's future on streaming look like?
As She-Hulk: Attorney at Law made clear, there are multiple ways to portray Daredevil on screen. The character is at his best with a darker tone, of course, but some of his best adventures have even embraced the supernatural.
In this feature, we're singling out five storylines we'd love to see in Daredevil: Born Again season 3. These are all quite a bit different from the vigilante's battle with the Kingpin and would allow Marvel Studios to do something completely different with this corner of the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame’s Joe Russo Says That Harvey Weinstein Is The Reason Why Blockbusters Stay Out Of The Awards Season: He Vilified Mainstream Movies…”(Photo Credit –Instagram/Wikimedia)
Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo shared his thoughts on why blockbuster movies mostly do not win major awards in the awards reason, including the Oscars, and the reason is Harvey Weinstein. The convicted s*x offender reportedly pushed art house films for the Oscar campaign, and it has thus become a trend, as per the Russo brother. The remark comes after the Indie film Anora bagged the most wins at the Oscars 2025, including Best Picture and Best Actress. Keep scrolling for the deets.

Ben Affleck has had a long career in Hollywood, but you won’t see him surrounded by hundreds of friends as he is more interested in keeping a small, tight-knit circle of friends for a reason. While appearing at SXSW to promote The Accountant 2, Affleck reflected on the close relationship he shares with frequent collaborator Matt Damon, who turned up to add his support to the movie’s premiere, and how he really feels that quality of friends is more important than quantity.
There are many stars in Hollywood who often frequent big lavish parties, or are always seen with a whole posse of followers wherever they go. Affleck is not one of them. He doesn’t really care either. Admitting that one of his only friends in his life is Damon, Affleck told Business Insider:
“I’m really lucky to have had a friend in Matt. It's a beautiful thing.

Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob characters are famous for popping up in movies like Clerks, Mallrats and Dogma. But the stoner duo also exist within the fictional worlds of Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Scream franchise, as evidenced by the most baffling moment from Scream 3.
But now Jay and Bob are set to crossover with a most unexpected pop-culture property: Archie. Per The Hollywood Reporter, an upcoming “double-sized” comic book titled Kevin Smith Presents: Archie Meets Jay & Silent Bob will find the Riverdale gang crossing paths with the residents of the View Askewniverse — and presumably learning some new four-letter words in the process.
Weirder still, the book takes place after the events of Clerks III, in which (spoiler) protagonist Dante Hicks dies of a heart attack. According to Smith, who penned the comic, “Archie plays a role in the healing (process),” adding, “not only...

Popular comic book couples are a cherished thing. When readers find someone they ship then they should be together forever. For example, Jean Grey and Scott Summers, Superman and Lois Lane, and Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson are among the untouchables (despite the latter having been broken up since 2022). It’s the same for people who only watch superhero shows and movies, in this case, we have Matt Murdock (Daredevil) and Karen Page.
Warning! Spoilers For Daredevil: Born Again Episode 1!
Matt and Karen are an important couple in Daredevil’s lore. She was a source of pain and pleasure in life in Marvel Comics and it appears to be the same on the show. Unfortunately, they aren’t together during Daredevil: Born Again. What was once a mutual decision turned into something else after Foggy’s death. Karen moved to California to avoid things that reminded her of her deceased friend.

Deadline reports that Netflix has secured a deal to make a new feature film based on King’s 1981 novel Cujo. Roy Lee, who has previously produced the King adaptations Salem’s Lot (2024), The Stand (2020 – 2021), Doctor Sleep (2019), It (2017), and It Chapter Two (2019), will be producing the film. Now, the search is on for a writer.
Cujo is the story of a large, playful St. Bernard dog that is transformed into a hideous killing machine after being infected by rabies.

Widely considered to be not only one of the best crime and gangster movies of all time but one of the greatest pieces of American cinema ever made, Francis Ford Coppolla's adaptation of The Godfatherremains one of the most revered movies in the history of the medium. Nominated for ten Academy Awards and winning three, including one for Best Picture, the film tops many fans' lists as the best movie of all time.
With such a perfect movie in the crime and gangster film subgenre, it is hard for even the best contenders in the same category to measure up. But some gangster films are so good that they come close to being as good as The Godfather, reminding audiences why the tragic stories of organized crime and its affects on the world around it can be one of the most compelling subjects for a movie.

It's hard to find a studio that isn't dying to get their own hit crossover film nowadays, especially when compared to the likes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its numerous successes. However, it may surprise audiences to know that there have been many proposed crossover films between characters of all different films and genres, and many that were never realized.
Although the world has gotten to see massive crossover films like Freddy vs. Jason and The Avengers, there are many other movies that fans probably would've loved to see as well.

THR reports that Kevin Smith is bringing the View Askewniverse to Archie Comics. The Clerks writer/director is writing a double-sized crossover comic titled Kevin Smith Presents: Archie Meets Jay & Silent Bob.
The comic will be set after the events of Clerks III, which ended with a significant death, but Smith says, “Archie plays a role in the healing” when the iconic character gets a summer job at the Quick Shop and befriends Randal Graves. “Not only is this my stab at a classic American franchise that existed long before me that I read as a kid … It’s a midlife crisis project about death and learning to deal,” Smith explained.
Smith has long been a fan of Archie comics, and he wrote the first draft for the comic just one day after Archie creative executive Jesse Goldwater pitched him the idea. “Kevin has always been one of my creative heroes,...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is gearing up for an epic showdown as the Russo Brothers are busy prepping up for Avengers 5 and 6. The conclusion to Marvel’s long-running multiverse saga, both films will be some of the biggest cinematic events in the franchise, even bigger than the blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Naturally, their runtimes are going to be more than an average film.

After the directing duo recently revealed the potential runtimes of both films, Marvel fans have been campaigning for their runtimes to be increased. While we do not know whether or not Marvel will pay heed to fans’ demands, it sure does expose fans’ hypocrisy concerning Zack Snyder.

Producers Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey are building a cinematic universe out of horror movies based on public domain family friendly stories – including Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, that film’s sequels, Pinocchio Unstrung, and Bambi: The Reckoning, which is inspired by Felix Salten’s 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods. Massive spoilers for the first episode of "Daredevil: Born Again" follow.
M. Night Shyamalan's "Unbreakable" introduced a useful nomenclature for comic book super-villains: the mastermind and the soldier (the physical equal and opposite for the hero). Daredevil has two great nemeses that both hit one category each: Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin, and Bullseye. "The man who never misses," Bullseye is a ruthless assassin with impossibly good aim and not a shred of conscience.
The Netflix "Daredevil" series from several ago put Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Fisk's (Vincent D'Onofrio) rivalry front and center, but it held off on Bullseye. He finally came in the series' third and final season, reimagined as an FBI agent named Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter (Wilson Bethel). Far from the campy baddie played by Colin Farrell in the 2003 "Daredevil" film, this Bullseye was truly disturbed and only grew worse under Fisk's tutelage.

Turns out you don’t have to be Irish to be lucky come March. That’s right, repertory cinemas from coast to coast will be raining down four-leaf clovers in the form of cinematic gems like “Matewan,” “The Watermelon Woman,” “The Cable Guy,” and many more. And we know what you’re thinking…you just got through slamming back Oscar film after Oscar film, maybe it’s time to take a little break from the movies. After all, spring’s around the corner — it might be nice to step outside for a bit, breathe in the fresh air.
Well, you’re wrong.
Fresh air is for people who can’t appreciate a random assortment of food scents and possibly carbon dioxide from a leaking soda machine tank. You’re of a different breed and as such, we know there’s no better place for you than the comfy cozy darkness of your local cinema.

In the first few years of the millennium, studios were finally getting hip to the fact that superhero movies, done in a comic-accurate way, could be big at the box office. Bryan Singer’s X-Men opened the door, but it was Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man that made the genre a no-brainer. One studio that was eager to get in on the comic book movie action was 20th Century Fox, which produced X-Men. They managed to get the rights to one of Marvel’s most enduring superheroes, Daredevil, producing a film that was solid, if unspectacular, when it came out on Valentine’s Day in 2003. The movie marked Ben Affleck’s first outing as a superhero and proved divisive among fans. Some say it’s underrated, while others say it’s dated garbage. Who’s right? Let’s find out Wtf Happened to Daredevil.

Another year, another blah Oscars program, complete with all the trappings, clichés, and safe musical numbers. Most of which you'll be ignoring as you scroll on your phone. About the only thing that has made the show watchable in the last three decades is backstage blunders and that one time a WWE fight broke out. We didn't know how good we had it. Back in the late '80s, the Oscar producers were aware of precisely this problem. In what was a lavish, high-concept gamble, they sought to inject new ideas into a stale format.
But they were wise to play it safe all those decades prior. At the 61st Academy Awards ceremony, the Oscar planners found out that lesson the hard way. For those wondering why the Oscars are excruciatingly dull, one watershed moment in 1989 is to blame. 36 years later, the taint remains, the event compared to a “gay...

"I know the real story. One guy wouldn't even sit for a f**kin' poster shoot." Those are the words of director Kevin Smith, speaking with Marc Maron on a January 2011 episode of his podcast "Wtf." Smith was coming off of his 2010 studio comedy "Cop Out," which starred "Die Hard" legend Bruce Willis and "SNL" alum Tracy Morgan as a pair of odd-couple cops. Needless to say, Smith had a tough time making the film. Also worth saying, Smith wasn't disheartened because of Morgan. "Were it not for Tracy, I might've killed myself or someone else in the making of that movie," Smith added.

The universe can be a pretty crummy place sometimes, so it's important to seek out every last nugget of joy or, absent something so extravagant, just a smile here and there to ward off total despair. You could argue that we don't even deserve the latter in extraordinarily crummy times such as these, and maybe this is true, but I like getting out of bed in the morning, so I'll afford myself the privilege of hope however it materializes. Did the Cleveland Cavaliers win last night? That's one foot on the floor. Did I text with some out-of-town friends I haven't personally seen in months or years? There's another. Did John Carpenter just win a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association? Oh baby, we're up and headed for that first cup.

Every day brings an onslaught of distracting news and controversies, and it's easy to forget yesterday's tragedy and simply move on to tomorrow's in a case of "disaster amnesia." This "flooding the zone," as Steve Bannon calls it, is intentionally designed to overwhelm people, so it's important to focus on the tangible problems we can all actually help. One of them is the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires that destroyed more than 18,000 homes and structures, burned more than 57,000 acres of land, and killed at least 29 people. A new charity benefit, Multicon, is bringing together creative artists of all kinds to help raise money to rebuild homes and help people who are really in need. It's happening on Feb. 22 at The Preserve LA and you can get tickets and information here. You can find other ways to help at the bottom of the article.

Grant Gustin revealed his initial reaction to The Flash's "Duet" episode. Fans consider that Supergirl crossover a highlight of the Arrowverse, especially Kara Danvers and Barry Allen's musical number.
The Flash was the best show in The CW's Arrowverse. Fans went through a rollercoaster of emotions across nine seasons of The Flash, especially its crossover episodes. Season 3's "Duet" caught audiences by surprise, however; the plot involved Kara Danvers and Barry Allen trapped in a musical dreamworld. "Duet" was surreal because it broke from the show's grounded narrative, but audiences loved the novelty. Critics praised "Duet" for its lighthearted tone and endearing ensemble, but Grant Gustin had reservations about filming that episode; he told Michael Rosenbaum that "Duet" was an odd turn for the show.

With the much-anticipated Oscars night quickly approaching, it's only natural to look back on some significant winners from the past. Since the esteemed ceremony's inception in 1929, plenty of filmmakers, actors, and movies have set several long-standing records. The most awards won by a single film is a three-way tie between Ben-Hur, Titanic, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King — each earning a remarkable 11 wins. Katharine Hepburn set the record for Best Actress with four Oscars, Parasite was the first non-English film to win Best Picture, and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki has taken home three consecutive awards for his work in Gravity, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), and The Revenant.
While these artists and their films are undoubtedly award-worthy, there are some winners audiences may not realize have maintained their records for decades. One of those Oscar-recipients is Batman v. Superman actor Ben Affleck. In 1997, alongside co-writer and actor Matt Damon,...

Filmmaker Kevin Smith’sDogma has become a cult classic since its release in 1999, and lately there’s been buzz about a sequel to the movie that starred Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as two angels who were banished from heaven. The Dogma writer-director further fueled the fire of the Dogma 2 rumors in a recent post on Threads that featured a picture of himself in front of the church where some of the film’s scenes were shot.
His post from Feb. 11 read: “We shot Dogma here 26 years ago, at the Saints Peter and Paul Church in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh! [Alan Rickman] and [George Carlin] (and my Dad) all stood on the steps of this cinematically sacred place back then, whilst they lived. And this year, we’re gonna honor all of ‘em… when we resurrect Dogma! More info very soon, Parishioners!”

Over the years, Hollywood has delivered an abundance of memorable on-screen partnerships -- Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, Paul Newman and Robert Redford, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, and Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, among many others. Over 30 years after their first collaboration, it's probably safe to add Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to the list.
Together, the dynamic duo have produced memorable entertainment aplenty, putting their remarkable chemistry to good use in everything from Kevin Smith's "Dogma" to Affleck's "Air." These guys have teamed up on nearly a dozen projects, even for a brief cameo or minor supporting role. The big winner of this year’s Super Bowl, once again, was gratuitous pop-culture nostalgia. In addition to a Muppets-themed travel ad, and Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan’s horny condiment commercial, ‘90s stoners Jay and Silent Bob popped up in a Ben Affleck-centric spot for Dunkin’.
Affleck once again donned an orange tracksuit to perform with the “DunKings,” his Dunkin’-branded boy band (although the word “boy” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there). The DunKings now also include Ben’s brother Casey, Bill Belichick, and Jeremy Strong, who we briefly see emerging from a vat of coffee grounds like a more svelte Baron Harkonnen.
Forget about Jay Leno, who does Ben Affleck owe money to?
The extended version of the ad features Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes as Silent Bob and Jay, respectively. They show up at Java Jam, which is some kind of coffee-themed fan convention.

Casey Affleck recently appeared alongside his brother Ben for the big game TV spot for Dunkin’. They’ve been teasing the commercial all week, and it turns out that the sixty-second spot airing during the Super Bowl is actually only a trailer for a seven-minute long short film featuring both Ben and Casey Affleck (no Matt Damon though), Jeremy Strong, Jay & Silent Bob, Bill Belichick, and many more. According to Deadline, Casey Affleck is also set to go on a manhunt in a new thriller that will co-star Miles Teller titled Wild Game.
Per Deadline, the synopsis for Wild Game reads, “When Fish and Game officer Jack Irigaray (Casey Affleck) joins a routine poacher arrest in the Black Rock Desert, a deadly encounter with renegade Claude Dallas (Miles Teller) shatters his reality and propels him into a relentless quest for vengeance — one that blurs the line between justice and obsession.

Dunkin’ made a big splash during the Super Bowl with its latest ad, bringing back the DunKings in a hilarious new installment.

Ben Affleck’s latest Super Bowl commercial for Dunkin’ has officially dropped, and this time, the world's most unusual cinematic universe has just brought in some new faces, including his brother Casey Affleck, Succession’s Jeremy Strong, former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, and Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids on the Block. And, if that wasn’t enough, Clerks duo Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith) even make a cameo in the extended version. This year’s ad, titled DunKings 2: The Movie, is a chaotic fusion of cinema and coffee. Originally airing as a 60-second spot during Super Bowl Lix, the full-length version goes way further in expanding on last year’s “DunKings” saga, taking the Afflecks and company to Java Jam, a fictional battle-of-the-bands-style competition where coffee brands fight for supremacy.

Dunkin’ dropped the latest installment from the “Dunkin’ Cinematic Universe” during the first commercial break of Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The epic and star studded 60-second clip — featuring original DunKing Ben Affleck back with a heavy Boston accent alongside new recruits like Casey Affleck and Jeremy Strong with surprise cameos from legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick (alongside girlfriend Jordon Hudson), Donnie Wahlberg, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes — is actually just a taste from a much longer seven-minute short film titled DunKings 2: The Movie.
The action opens with the Oscar-winning brothers chatting it up outside Casey’s dressing-room door as the older Affleck tries to convince him to join Java Jam: Battle of the Coffee Brand Bands. (As you may recall, Ben debuted as the DunKing during last year’s Super Bowl in a spot that found him chasing pop superstardom alongside longtime friend and business partner Matt Damon, Tom Brady,...

The CW's The Flash Star John Wesley Shipp has talked about the immediate connection he had with his co-star and fellow Barry Allen actor Grant Gustin. Shipp starred as the titular DC character in 1990's The Flash CBS series before returning to play Gustin's father, Henry Allen, in the Arrowverse.
The Flash franchise veteran Shipp discussed the length of his tenure as the Scarlet Speedster and his relationship with his co-star Gustin at Megacon. In response to Cbr's question about how long he has been involved with the character, he stated, "35 years. As many years as Grant Gustin has been alive." Shipp continued, "It was an immediate connection. This is a guy who's a truthful actor. He knew I'd been the Flash, and I knew what he was taking on." In addition to playing Barry Allen in CBS' The Flash and Henry Allen in The CW's iteration, Shipp also starred as Jay Garrick,...

The 1990s, which saw a boom in independent cinema and a crop of young and exciting debut filmmakers, was an exciting period for cinema. The bloated excess of the 1980s paved the way for the grounded, intimate, and artful '90s with the rise of the Sundance Film Festival and studio interest in filmmaking iconoclasts like Steven Soderbergh, Kevin Smith, Wes Anderson, and Quentin Tarantino.

Having played the iconic DC character the Flash longer than anyone, Grant Gustin has now given insight into how he kept the Scarlet Speedster fresh for so long. Gustin played the Barry Allen incarnation of the character in The CW's The Flash for nine seasons and also appeared in crossovers and other shows across the Arrowverse.
Gustin told Cbr at Megacon that the show retained its freshness because he took the responsibility of playing the Flash seriously. "It was never an intentional thought about how to keep it fresh," he began. "I'm a very scene-by-scene actor. I wanted to keep it realistic. The only reason I did a decent job with the show is I took it very seriously. Try not to suck." Gustin's dedication to playing the Crimson Comet has always been evident in interactions with fans throughout his years of playing the character in the show that ended its run two years ago.
