The following contains spoilers for The White Lotus Season 3, Episodes 1 to 5, available now on HBO's streaming platform Max.

The White Lotus Season 3 is approaching its end, with only three more episodes to go until it is over. The tension has escalated with the latest episode, the fifth in the season, which premiered last Sunday. Titled "Full-Moon Party", it featured lots of partying, a few interesting kiss scenes and the introduction of a new character in Bangkok who is Rick's old friend, played by Academy Award-winning actor Sam Rockwell.

Episode 5 reached 828,000 viewers last Sunday, the highest viewership rating any episode of this The White Lotus season has had so far. The upcoming Episode 6, "Denials", is going to pick up where "Full-Moon Party" left things. The chaotic night still has not ended, and the next episode will likely reveal what happened in its final hours and the next day.

The White Lotus opened the doors to its lavish Thai hotel resort on February 16, 2025, introducing a new cast of decadent tourists for Season 3. While plenty of polite first impressions gave way to passive-aggressive behavior and potential motives for murder, several characters have already shown themselves as potentially the worst of the bunch.

Of course, one appeal of The White Lotus is witnessing the humiliating fall of the narcissistic, ultra-wealthy elites who, despite vacationing in paradise, never feel satisfied or fulfilled. With a mysterious murder setting the table each season, the fun becomes playing detective, figuring out who will die and who the killer is. While there's still plenty to solve with the remaining episodes in Season 3, one White Lotus character is already more suspicious than the others.

The movie will rep Grammy nominated and Emmy winning music documentary and live event filmmaker Wrench’s narrative directing debut.

Released in 1980, The Idolmaker was Academy Award nominee Taylor Hackford’s first film and earned Ray Sharkey a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. The movie was based on the life of rock promoter/producer Bob Marcucci, who discovered, among others, Frankie Avalon and Fabian. It was written by Edward Di Lorenzo and produced by Hawk Koch and Gene Kirkwood, the film counts a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer and also starred Tovah Feldshuh, Peter Gallagher, and Paul Land. Kirkwood and Hawk Koch will return to produce the film, with Bill Gerber (A Star is Born) also producing.

In Katims’ modern-day reimagining, a singularly talented musician and equally gifted “idolmaker” navigate the complications of the music industry and the real world.

Wrench received a 2023 Grammy nom for Billie Eilish Live at O2 in the Best Music Film slot. He’s also directed episodes of American Idol and Rhythm + Flow. He is represented by CAA and Yorn Levine.

Katims also created NBC’s Parenthood which pumped out 103 episodes. He also wrote the near $200M global grossing Channing Tatum-Rachel McAdams movie The Vow. He is represented by CAA and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.

Where do we even begin after an episode like That? The White Lotus season 3 episode 5 really went there after teasing some odd sexual tension between two particular characters since the very first episode. Of course, we're talking about the incestuous kiss everyone is talking about, another unexpected surprise out of the Ratliff family after last week's cringe-inducing full-frontal moment.

The new episode found most of the characters getting up to no good under a full moon, bringing forth possibly the most fast-paced episode of the season so far. This season of “The White Lotus” has so far been relatively tame in terms of sex, drugs, violence and overall debauchery. Mention of a party in last week’s episode implied an incoming shift, though, and “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 5 delivers on that promise. It is an episode full of reckless partying, lust and more than a few cringe-inducing moments of impulsive degeneracy. Amid all of the chaos, “White Lotus” creator Mike White returns to some of the HBO drama’s long-running themes — namely, the difficulty of cultural assimilation and the unfortunate truth that no amount of wealth or uninhibited living can fill the empty parts within ourselves. Tensions are high and only getting higher on The White Lotus, after another brush with death this week.

As Sunday’s episode opens, Victoria dreams she’s standing on the beach as a huge tsunami wave crashes down on her. “Could be some kind of warning,” Piper tells her — and with Timothy staring down a prison sentence for financial crimes, yeah, there’s a storm a-comin’. At breakfast, Rick decides to stop staring at resort owner Sritala and walks right up to her, telling her he’s a film producer (?) who wants to put her in a big Hollywood movie.

Ryan Reynolds has proven that his films bring people to the theater. His third Deadpool installment, Deadpool & Wolverine, was the biggest live-action film of 2024 and the second-highest-grossing title of the year.

However, even with his gross, Reynolds didn't score the highest paycheck of the year. Forbes officially released the new top 10 for the highest-paid actors of 2024, which includes 9 actors and an actress. While Reynolds didn't top the chart, he was a close second, with only $3 million behind his 2020 competition.

On X, Liefeld shared a post noting that the fourth Captain America movie kicked off its second weekend with $7.2M at the domestic box office, a drop of 82.4% compared to its opening day the week prior. Few films have left an imprint on the British horror landscape quite like The Wicker Man. The 1973 classic, with its eerie folk rituals, unsettling sense of isolation, and an ending as iconic as it is horrifying, has become synonymous with the genre now known as British folk horror. But according to filmmaker Rupert Russell, the chilling tale of Sgt. Howie’s doomed investigation on Summerisle may have more grounding in reality than many realise.

In his new documentary The Last Sacrifice, which makes its UK premiere at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest Glasgow 2025, Russell embarks on a true-crime investigation into the brutal, unsolved 1945 murder of Charles Walton, an elderly farm labourer found horrifically mutilated in a Cotswolds field. His killing—described as a “slaughterhouse horror” by Scotland Yard detective Robert Fabian—sparked nationwide speculation about ritual sacrifice, occult killings, and an eerie, insular community that seemed unwilling to give up its secrets.

Deadpool & Wolverine continues to be a hot topic among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans thanks, in part, to the several X-Men franchise characters introduced and teasing the possibilities of where they could appear next. One of those characters, X-23, could return during Phase Six as star Dafne Keen hints at her MCU future.

Speaking with The Direct at the Saturn Awards, Keen opened up about the one condition she has to reprise her role as Laura/X-23 in the MCU following her debut in Deadpool & Wolverine. We rarely see our mothers and grandmothers as sensual beings with their own desires. Caretakers are often taken for granted and then relegated to a helpless status as time passes. That may be true for the infirm and decrepit, but those with passion in their blood can't be tamed. Rose reminds us of what's possible in old age, albeit at a glacial pace and sometimes melodramatic delivery.

Not to judge a film from the synopsis established by its marketing team, but those expecting director Aurélie Saada’s debut Rose––a 2021 Locarno premiere only now arriving on U.S. shores––to be a more explosive character drama in the vein of Arnaud Desplechin will be sorely disappointed. This late-in-life coming-of-age story is billed as the tale of a woman’s belated self-discovery causing unexpected rifts among her family in the wake of her husband’s death. And on paper it sounds like the recipe for a spiritual successor to A Christmas Tale, with the personal and professional hang-ups of her adult children––ranging from marriage breakdowns to the looming threat of jail time––all taking precedence in their lives over her trauma. Where Desplechin would embrace the soapy melodramatics of such material, Saada, in practice, aims to play them down as much as possible, and the result is frustrating.

On Thursday, actor Francisco San Martin, 39, best known for his role as Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives, died in his Los Angeles home from a “ligature hanging.”

The medical examiner did not give any further details about San Martin’s suicide.

San Martin was born in Mallorca, Spain, on August 27, 1985. He grew up in Montana, where he got an early start acting in children’s theater productions. As a teenager, he returned to Madrid where he began to work as a model while taking acting classes.

In addition to his 16-episode stint on Days of Our Lives, San Martin is known for his role as Mateo in The Bold and the Beautiful. He also had an arc on Jane the Virgin as Fabian, the title character’s sensitive telenovela love interest. His most recent role was in the 2022 short film Dot.

House of the Dragon will take some time to fly on TV screens again, meaning a long wait for fans who enjoyed Season 2 last summer. However, one of the Game of Thrones prequel's actors offers a hopeful update to those anxious to see more of the show.

Speaking with Screen Rant, House of the Dragon star Rhys Ifans was asked for a progress update on Season 3 and when fans can expect to see the show hit screens again. Though he jokingly suggested Season 3 would become available "in about 25 years time," he suggested production would commence soon. "I don't know. I don't know, but I can smell the sulfur. [Chuckles] There's something brewing. I can say, yeah, they start shooting soon this year, so I'm sure you'll be able to watch it in about 25 years' time. [Chuckles]," he said.

As per the County of Los Angeles’ Medical Examiner, San Martin passed away of suicide at his LA home on Thursday, January 16.

The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s report revealed that San Martin died of suicide at his home in Los Angeles on January 16.

In addition to his roles on Days and B&b, the actor also appeared on seasons 3 and 4 of Jane the Virgin. He portrayed Fabian Regalo del Cielo. Fabian was an actor on telenovela Los Viajes de Guillermo in the series. Jane and Fabian had a short relationship.

Actress Camila Banus (ex-Gabi) remembered San Martin in her Instagram stories.

“Pepe, what can I say, but I love you, and rest in peace, my friend. Love you mucho, mucho, mucho. I wish I’d told you more,” she said.

According to the official screenplay (shared by Disney), script pages from Deadpool & Wolverine feature some of the dialogue that didn't make the MCU blockbuster's theatrical cut. After appearing in the first two Deadpool movies, T.J. Miller did not return for this year's Deadpool & Wolverine. This was no surprise, as Miller had previously spoken about an apparent falling out he'd had with Ryan Reynolds.

In a new interview for Sirius Xm's The Bonfire (per EW), Miller shared that he recently spoke with Reynolds. While Miller did not share any additional details about that conversation, it's a promising sign for the two actors becoming friends again after they went their separate ways after Deadpool 2. Though Miller had believed he'd never return as Weasel in any new Deadpool movies, he now says it'd be "awesome" to come back for something like Deadpool 4, but it would be up to Reynolds to give him that call.

The What We Do in the Shadows cast features a whos-who of seasoned comedy veterans, exciting up-and-coming talent, and scene-stealing supporting players as its vampiric characters. Based on the movie of the same name, What We Do in the Shadows is a mockumentary series about the mundane everyday lives of a group of vampires living in New York. The premise of a vampire-infested mockumentary might not have sustained a sketch in the hands of lesser creators, but Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, and co. have managed to make an acclaimed feature film and an equally acclaimed TV show out of that concept.

By introducing different kinds of vampires and entirely new supernatural species, the TV version of What We Do in the Shadows has expanded the world of the movie. The limited cast of the film has been replaced with a sprawling ensemble, played by both promising up-and-comers and prolific comedians.

One of the most iconic scenes in Deadpool &Wolverine was the dance/fight sequence set to the Nsync song "Bye Bye Bye," which was a massive hit in 2000. However, a song by a different pop group was initially considered for the opening scene.

Speaking to MovieWeb, the film's editors, Dean Zimmerman and Shane Reid said a song by the Backstreet Boys was one of the initial picks along with several other tunes. "It actually started with Kenny Rogers' song 'The Gambler,' which all of our pre-vis was cut to," Reid explained. However, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and director Shawn Levy didn't think it was the right fit. "At a certain point, the film took on a different language. The song didn't quite work with the same energy that we wanted that scene to have."
