The show is created by one-time “Friends” showrunner Adam Chase and “Royal Pains” co-creator/co-showrunner Andrew Lenchewski.

In the glitz and glamour of television, while some shows last for many seasons, others fizzle out quickly. For No Ordinary Family as well, it premiered in 2010 with very high expectations blending family drama with superhero storytelling. But since it could not live up to its promises, the show was canceled after just one season, leaving fans disappointed.

The show followed the lives of the Powell family, whose ordinary lives took a drastic turn after they mysteriously survived a plane crash that granted them superpowers. While this premise was not something completely out of the box, the humorous elements surely made it a lot more interesting. Based on this it also had a very strong start with viewers really appreciating the show and its engaging storyline.

However, it failed to maintain this momentum and was canceled after the first season itself.

Accused has returned for a second season on Fox. The show, which was created by Howard Gordon, is based on the British anthology show of the same name that ran for two seasons from 2010 through 2012. Each episode features a new cast and is set in a different city, following a court case exploring an unusual crime. The cast of season 1 included Michael Chiklis, Abigail Breslin, Rachel Bilson, Whitney Cummings, and Jason Ritter, while season 2 features Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, and Taylor Schilling, as well as Michael Chiklis in a new role.

Whether they're satirical, romantic, or grimly resigned, these apocalyptic movies don't pull any punches when it comes to the end of the world. The post-apocalyptic genre has been gaining popularity in both film and television in recent years, but the best movies about the end of the world are from all eras of cinema. Many narratives touch upon the search for solutions to the coming catastrophes and the search for new worlds. While it's nice to watch a film about the end of the world that ends on an uplifting note, some movies opt for a melancholic tone.

There are plenty of fun post-apocalyptic sci-fi movies, but just as many stories grapple with the lead-up to the final days, finding some way of avoiding the apocalypse. However, there's something satisfying about a movie that pushes its characters and the audience to face the reality that everything must eventually come to an end.

That time of year is here. As we close out the calendar year, we get ready for cancellations and renewals. Which of our favorite broadcast TV shows are likely to make it through to another TV season?

Fall 2024 is the most normal fall we’ve had since the pandemic in 2020. Most TV shows got off to their usual September starts, and we’ve had normal fall finales and we’re getting ready for January returns. The broadcast networks have had a mixture of reality and scripted shows.

For this post, we take a look at the scripted lineup. The non-scripted shows have slightly different requirements as they’re not as expensive to make, while the scripted lineup tends to be more focused on linear ratings, especially when it comes to a star-studded lineup.

Jason Statham is the king of taking chicken sh*t and turning it into chicken salad as his immense and magnetic charisma and bone-crunching action scenes can elevate even the most mundane of action flicks, and 2013’s Parker is no exception. Directed by Taylor Hackford (Ray) and written by John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan), Parker follows Statham in the titular role of a professional thief with a code: never steal from those who can’t afford it, and never hurt those who don’t deserve it. But after being screwed over and left for dead by his crew, who are led by crime boss Melander (Michael Chiklis), Parker makes the decision to get his own back, eventually ending up in Palm Beach, where he teams up with real estate agent Leslie (Jennifer Lopez) to infiltrate the gang and hijack their next big score.

Action movie icon Jason Statham knows what he’s good at, and damn if he isn’t one of the best to ever do it, with the charismatic star able to bring any middling action fare at least somewhat to life using his particular set of skills. This is never truer than with the 2013 crime thriller Parker, which adapts one of the novels by the late Donald Westlake, and is all set to stream for free.

While the movie itself was met with mixed reviews at the time, the presence of The Stath never fails to impress, with The Beekeeper star bringing his usual gritty magnetism to the role of a professional thief who finds himself double-crossed and left for dead. Directed by Taylor Hackford and written by John J. McLaughlin, Parker sees Jason Statham team-up with Jennifer Lopez while butting (bald) head with (bald) head against The Shield star Michael Chiklis.
