Variety is reporting that a Clayface movie is officially moving forward at DC Studios, with Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep; The Fall of the House of Usher; Midnight Mass) attached to write the screenplay.

A day after drummer Nicko McBrain announced that he would be retiring from touring with Iron Maiden, the iconic metal band has revealed that Simon Dawson will be taking over behind the kit in 2025.

McBrain played his final concert with Maiden last night (December 7th) in São Paulo, Brazil, the last show of the band’s “Future Past Tour.” Hours earlier, he disclosed that he would no longer tour with the band after 42 years because he wanted to “step back from the grind of the extensive touring lifestyle.”

Dawson already has strong ties to Iron Maiden, having played in bassist Steve Harris’ other band British Lion for 12 years. Maiden’s full announcement reads as follows:

Iron Maiden’s longtime drummer Nicko McBrain announced Saturday that he is retiring from touring, with tonight’s concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil serving as his final show with the band.

“After much consideration, it is with both sorrow and joy, I announce my decision to take a step back from the grind of the extensive touring lifestyle. Today, Sat, Dec 7th, Sao Paulo will be my final gig with Iron Maiden. I wish the band much success moving forward,” McBrain, whose tenure with the heavy metal giants began in 1982, said in a statement.

Drummer Nicko McBrain has announced his retirement from touring with Iron Maiden after 42 years in the band, with tonight’s show (December 7th) in São Paulo, Brazil, being his last ever with the legendary metal act.

McBrain, who suffered a stroke in January 2023, did not mention any specific health concerns, but did say that he wanted to “step back from the grind of the extensive touring lifestyle.”

The drummer joined Iron Maiden in 1982 and has appeared on every album from 1983’s Piece of Mind through 2021’s Senjutsu. Iron Maiden have already chosen a new drummer, who will be “announced very shortly.”

Di’Anno, the singer on Maiden’s first two albums, passed away in October after dealing with numerous health issues in recent years. His former bandmate Steve Harris and current Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson each paid tribute to the influential metal singer in the wake of his death, with Dickinson eulogizing Di’Anno during an Iron Maiden concert in Minnesota just days later.

Now, Di’Anno’s family has opened up about his cause of death, revealing that his passing, due to a heart complication, was instantaneous and “hopefully painless,” in their own words.

Paul Dianno, the vocalist who sang with Iron Maiden on their earliest releases, has died. He was 66.

Di’Anno’s death was confirmed in a note shared on his Facebook page by the metal label, Conquest Music, on behalf of the Di’Anno’s family. It said Di’Anno — whose real name was Paul Andrews — died at his home in Salisbury, England.

“Conquest Music are proud to have had Paul Di’Anno in our artist family and ask his legion of fans to raise a glass in his memory,” the label said.

Staring at the face of a criminal empire is hard, but with a couple of good connections and dumb luck, negotiations can go a long way. That's something Detective Von Bryant (Steve Harris) knows very well, and he'll do anything he can in order to help his son. A new clip from the third season of Bmf has been released by Starz, giving audiences a look at what's to come in upcoming episodes of the successful crime drama. And even if lawyers are expensive, striking a deal with a member of the Black Mafia Family should cover the cost.

Starz series Bmf Season 3 continues on a roll, delivering 5.1 million multiplatform viewers on its premiere weekend.

The third season premiered on Friday, March 1, achieving a series high in audience and growing season over season by 25%. The new season of the family drama also launched as the highest-rated among Black households on cable across its premiere weekend.

Bmf continues the story of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who rose through the illegal drug trade from the depths of poverty in Detroit to the heights of fame and fortune across America.

In Season 3, Meech moves to Atlanta to expand their empire, facing rival crews and crossing paths with burgeoning hip-hop legends, while Terry holds down the fort in Detroit, facing formidable rivals, old and new.

The third season premiere of BMF gathered its biggest audience to date for Starz.

The drama’s March 1 debut racked up 5.1 million cross-platform viewers over its opening weekend. That’s the best performance to date for the series and up by a million viewers over the season two premiere in January 2023 — a nearly 25 percent jump season to season.

As is usually the case with premium cable shows, the vast majority of viewing came away from Bmf’s on-air premiere, which averaged just 250,000 viewers (though that too was up, vs. 170,000 for the season two opener) — only about 5 percent of the three-day total. The 5.1 million figure includes replays and streaming as well, and though Starz (like most other streamers) doesn’t provide detailed streaming data, it’s a safe bet that most of the remaining 4.85 million viewers came via streaming.

“Bmf” has been renewed for Season 4 at Starz, Variety has learned. The news comes ahead of the upcoming Season 3 premiere of the crime drama.

Season 3 of the series will debut on March 1 at midnight on the Starz app before its linear network premiere at 8 p.m.Et/Pt in the U.S. and at 9 pm Et in Canada. The series remains one of Starz’ biggest hits, averaging 10.6 million viewers in multiplatform viewing according to the network.

“Fans can’t get enough of the history in the making that is ‘Bmf,’” said Kathryn Busby, president of Programming for Starz. “We’re thrilled to start working on a new season that will continue bold storytelling of the legend of the Flenory brothers that has proven to resonate so deeply with our viewers.”

Production on Season 4 is set to begin this spring in Atlanta.
