Bloodywood are taking the music world by storm, bringing their “Nu Dehli” sound to the masses. Combining the forces of more traditional Indian music with the raw power of metal, plus a smattering of anime influences, the band have a sound unlike any other. I was able to chat with the band to learn more about their gateway anime, the anime influences of the video, and working with the legendary Japanese metal idols. Can you tell me a little about your anime journey? How it started and where you are now? Are there genres you gravitate toward? What is your favorite anime series or movie of all time? Bloodywood : Our anime journey started like it did for the majority of the people our age in India, with Dragon Ball Z being premiered on Cartoon Network, followed by Pokémon , Cardcaptor Sakura , Shin-chan , etc. There has been no turning back since then.

I’ve become quite a fan of mafia-style series like Farzi, Mirzapur, and Paatal Lok—they always seem to grab my attention. So, naturally, when I started watching Murshid, especially with Kay Kay Menon in the lead, I had high hopes. But to be honest, it felt repetitive and pretty mediocre. Anyway, to give you an idea, “Murshid” revolves around a mafia boss of the same name. He had left his life of violence after his older son’s death but had to pick up a gun again to save his younger son. As he became powerful once more, he grew even more influential in the end. The question is, what really happened to push Murshid back into this life? And who were the key characters that influenced his return to power? Let’s break it down in this cast and character guide of Murshid season 1.

Wednesday will mark a media earnings double-header as Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and Disney CEO Bob Iger present Wall Street with their latest quarterly financials. And the pressure is on to see if the legacy media giants can continue this earnings season’s trend of narrower direct-to-consumer losses and upbeat guidance.
“Based on the success of Netflix, Peacock and Paramount’s earnings, I expect promising results from both Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney,” Omdia media analyst Sarah Henschel told TheWrap. “Entertainment typically also does well during the holiday timeframe so it’s likely that these services will post continued subscriber and/or revenue momentum through the end of the year.”
Both companies face a multitude of challenges, including unprofitable streaming platforms, declining linear businesses, a box office slump and mountains of debt. Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery each have roughly $47 billion in debt. Disney has the added challenges...

In his youth, he had gone from his home in Gurdaspur to Amritsar to get medicines for his ailing mother. To quench his thirst, he ordered a glass of sugarcane juice from a stall near the Golden Temple. The prediction did come true Dev Anand did become a star that burnt bright across an over six-decade-long career.

Lucknow, April 22 (Ians) With 12 runs needed off the final over for Lucknow Super Giants to win, Mohit Sharma was tasked with taking Gujarat Titans to an incredible victory. What happened next was magnificent as the veteran pacer mixed his yorkers and slower balls to perfection to concede only four runs and script a seven-run win for his team in Match No 30 of the Ipl 2023, here on Saturday.
Mohit took out Kl Rahul and Marcus Stoinis in an over which included two run-outs to take Gujarat to a spectacular victory.
Titans skipper Hardik Pandya was in tremendous praise of Mohit, saying the fast-bowler made his life easy by backing his plans and executing them well.
“The way every bowler contributed, as a captain I couldn’t have asked for. The amount of cricket he (Mohit Sharma) has played, I don’t have to interfere. He made my life easy, he backed his plans and executed it.

Lucknow, April 22 (Ians) A crestfallen Lucknow Super Giants captain Kl Rahul was left wondering over the sequence of events which led to his team failing to chase down a target of 136 against defending champions Gujarat Titans in an Ipl 2023 match, here on Saturday.
Rahul looked good in reaching his fifty in 38 balls and had a strike-rate upwards of 150 in powerplay, apart from sharing fifty-plus stands with Kyle Mayers and Krunal Pandya.
But after crossing his fifty, the Lsg skipper managed to get his next 18 runs off 23 balls to eventually make 68 off 61 balls, falling in the final over to Mohit Sharma as Lucknow ended up at 128/7 in 20 overs, choking in what looked like an easy chase in a baffling fashion.
“I don’t know how it happened, but it has happened. I can’t put a finger on where it went wrong, but we lost 2 points today, and this is cricket.

Playing a boisterous Bohemian, a debonair prince, or a cheerfully irresponsible student, who intentionally provokes his father and fiancee in a court hearing, a rustic, or a rollicking romantic lead with a swagger that Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, and Rajesh Khanna could envy, came natural to him. Yet, in popular memory, Dilip Kumar is only synonymous with the dejected, despondent and (usually) doomed hero.
In his 57 films over his half-century-plus stint in the Hindi film industry, Dilip Kumar is chiefly remembered as the ‘Tragedy King’, battered down by unrequited love, social or political pressure, or other inexorable circumstances.
Whether it was as lush Devdas in the eponymous 1955 film, the unfortunate Prince Marcus of “Yahudi” (1958), the eventually subdued rebellious Prince Salim in “Mughal-e-Azam” (1960), the star-crossed Dilip of “Andaz” (1949), and so on, there was usually no happy ending for him.

He carved himself into the history of Bollywood playing – in his first major role – a foul-mouthed, sadistic, and vicious brigand, but there was much more to him than just being Gabbar Singh of “Sholay”. While Amjad Khan’s oeuvre of over 220 films has him playing the villainous ‘heavy’, usually against Amitabh Bachchan, he also excelled in more positive and even comic roles.
And then, he was capable enough to hold a long discussion on various issues with Satyajit Ray.
Take his Filmfare Awards nominations as one metric. Amjad Khan was nominated seven times in the prime of his acting career from 1976 to 1986 – five times for Best Supporting Actor (including two nominations in one year once) and two times as Best Performance in a Comic Role (both in the same year), and won twice in the first category and once in the second.

Monica, O My Darling(Netflix)
Directed by Vasan Bala
Somewhere in the acquisitive amoral chaos of Vasan Bala’s twisted kingdom, Rajkummar Rao and Huma Qureshi, playing two of the most shamelessly self-serving jerks in recent cinematic history, are down on the floor, wrestling with an Usha Uthup pretender singing ‘Loving You So Much I Want To Kill You.’
Yes, physically wrestling, until one of them is almost dead.
It is a deliciously demonic moment defining the gender-proof nature of human greed. When you are so money-minded that your conscience has gone for a call of nature, then be prepared to battle it out man-to-man, even if you are a woman.
Alas, such delightfully epiphanic moments are hard to come by in Vasant Bala’s first directorial deep-dive since Mard Ko Dard Nahin into the bowels of eccentricity. Playing a dude who doesn’t feel any physical pain no matter...

Along with expressions and mannerisms, it is the voice that makes a successful actor. But there are times where the film may demand that the performer just use facial expressions and body language, without any words, to emote – and that can test their calibre. Blessed with a resounding baritone – and a fine singing voice too, Amitabh Bachchan was several times called to demonstrate his prowess in this respect – and never disappointed.
Manoj Kumar described his voice as “a mellow whisper, sounding like the murmurs of a thundery cloud” at their first meeting in September 1967, when Amitabh arrived in Bombay to try his luck in the film industry, the first film that he got – “Reshma aur Shera” (1971) had portrayed him as mute.
This, as per director and producer Sunil Dutt – who fulfilled his promise of giving him a break – and writer Ali Raza, was to evoke greater audience sympathy for him.

Film critic and box office expert Joginder Tuteja had a miraculous escape on early hours of the Sunday morning when the car in which he was traveling was hit by a speeding SUV (Scorpio) on a national highway in Gurgaon. He was accompanied by his wife and son. Even though their Hyundai Eon was smashed to pulp from behind, fortunately there was no casualty though the family was reeling with aftershocks for many hours to follow.
“It was way past midnight when Joginder and his family were returning from a get together at a friend’s place. All was well for most part of the journey but just right outside their apartment when they had taken a U turn, a SUV hit them from behind at a very fast speed. The Eon swirled on the road in circles a couple of times and it was only after its frontside bumper...

Pran Kishan Sikand
Pran Kishan Sikand dreamt of becoming a professional photographer. Little did he know that a measly, humble ‘paan’ (betel leaf) would change his life and set him on his destined path. It was 1939 or thereabouts. Pran was at a ‘paan’ shop at Lahore, enjoying a munch with his friends when a stranger approached him and asked whether he wanted to act in films. Pran was amused and asked his name. Stranger introduced himself as Muhammad Walli, a renowned film maker in the flourishing film district of Lahore. He said he was making a Punjabi film and Pran looked a perfect fit for the role of a villain in the film. Pran just brushed him off. Walli kept insisting that he pay a visit to the studio, and pushed a piece of paper with his address into Pran’s hands. The film was Yamla Jat (1940), a runaway hit that year.
