Despite another long hiatus on CBS, NCIS Season 22 has some new installments on the March 2025 TV schedule.

An unconfirmed rumor states that the current season will feature 20 episodes.

Thus far, Season 22 has aired 14 episodes, including the recent one where a woman in his Hoa expressed interest in Dr. Jimmy Palmer.

We also saw Victoria Palmer (Jimmy’s daughter) appear again, marking her first time on the show this season.

March 10 and 17 are off nights, but then it’s time for some new episodes.

The next new NCIS episodes for Season 22

CBS has scheduled new NCIS episodes for March 24 and 31. That will presumably leave four new episodes to air across April and May 2025.

After two weeks of repeat episodes, NCIS returns with Moonlit on Monday, March 24.

The season is winding down, usually leading to interesting guest stars and subplots that track to previous episodes.

An intriguing guest star is exactly what will happen on March 24, with Agent Dale Sawyer returning to NCIS.

We haven’t seen Sawyer since NCIS Season 20, but he is tied to the main storyline of the new episode.

Actor Zane Holtz plays Sawyer and has previously appeared during Seasons 10, 18, 19, and 20.

Holtz first appeared as Navy Petty Officer Third Class Kevin Wyeth during NCIS Season 10, Episode 19 (Squall).

That 2013 episode was dramatic but a one-off for that character.

Holtz appeared again in 2021 during NCIS Season 18, Episode 11. This was his first episode playing Sawyer (Gut Punch).

Holtz also appeared in NCIS Season 19, Episode 12 (Fight or Flight) and NCIS Season 20, Episode 12 (Big Rig).

His recent appearances are tied to his off-screen friendship with actor Wilmer Valderamma (Agent Torres).

It all started when Parker went to pick up some more cookies, but met her new employee Virgil Wilson, who seemed nervous as he helped Parker pick out his order. Unbeknownst to Parker, Virgil was being held hostage by someone who would go on to murder him.
