1990s teen hit Clueless has been brought to the stage of London’s West End by the film’s original writer and director Amy Heckerling, who has focused on keeping the 90s theme integral to the story.

Heckerling told BBC News that she has “no interest in being modern,” and has stuck closely to the original story. The 1995 film, inspired by Jane Austen’s novel Emma and starring Alicia Silverstone as lead character Cher and took $88million at the box office. It was credited with inspiring similar teen school dramas including Mean Girls, Gossip Girl and Legally Blonde.

And she admitted neither the original film nor the musical are documents of real LA life for most citizens. Heckerling told the BBC she wished the original film had been a musical, because “”there were natural moments in the script where characters could have sung.”

Roger Ebert was one of the most prominent voices in the movie industry for decades. A film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times, Ebert wrote thousands of film reviews from 1967 until he died in 2013. King of the Hill was a strong show from the very beginning. In its first year, Entertainment Weekly and Time included it on their Best TV of the Year lists. However, a recent “memoir” called Kim’s Lost Words by an author calling himself Kamal T. Millwood claims Diddy had something to do with her death.

A fan-made concept trailer has been made imagining a live-action adaptation of the animated series Futurama. Brie Larson and Ryan Reynolds are among the cast members picked for the concept trailer.

Posted by Multiverse of Movies on YouTube, the trailer has garnered more than 444K views in just over a week's time. The concept trailer was created with the use of AI-generated imagery using the likenesses of famous actors. While this makes the character older in the film than he was in the animated show, Philip J. Fry was cast with Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds, whose voice has also been replicated as the narrator. Brie Larson is also imagined in a major role as Leela, complete with one eye. Shailene Woodley has been tapped to play the rock icon Janis Joplin in a new biopic.

Variety reports that Woodley has joined the cast of the film and will produce as well. The yet-to-be-named biopic is being funded by a $2.5 million tax credit from the state of California’s Film Commission, and per Variety, will have a $10 million budget for “qualified expenditures.”

We don’t know much else about the film, but Woodley wrote in a statement that she’s excited to tell Joplin’s story in California specifically. “California meant so much to Janis Joplin — from the stoops of San Francisco to the wooden walls of Sunset Sound, the state became the stage upon which she explored not just the world of music, but the world of her vibrant humanity,” she wrote.
