Heels boss Mike O'Malley comments on possibly continuing the series ahead of its imminent debut on Netflix.

“Heels” is now officially streaming both of its seasons on Netflix, giving the former Starz series a chance to capture a much bigger audience than it ever had before.

In an interview with Variety, series creator Michael Waldron joked that he and the show’s team would frequently discuss what it would be like if the show had debuted on Netflix originally.

“We often said, ‘Well, s–t, if we were on Netflix, everybody would be watching this thing!” Waldron said. “And now it’s kind of like, alright, the universe called our bluff.”

With Snowpiercer ending its run after four seasons, the show has taken a smart, welcome approach by giving more air-time to other heroes. It mostly focused on Daveed Digg's Andre Layton, as well as Melanie's core train workers, as they fought villains like Mr. Wilford. Now, they all have to unite to stop the International Peacekeeping Forces (Ipf).

Layton needs help against a much bigger villain. Sadly, it resulted in the deaths of people like Snowpiercer's Engineer, Ben. Interestingly, one other hero gets their time to shine, teasing a much bigger arc to come if tragedy strikes. This is none other than Sam Roche, the former leader of the Brakemen.

Per the official Season 2 logline, after being cast out by Galadriel without army or ally, Sauron has returned, and the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power. The second season will reportedly build to the Siege of Eregion, a deadly and definitive battle in Tolkien’s history of the Second Age of Middle-earth that marked the beginning of the War of the Elves and Sauron.

It's possible that a canceled Starz series could get a second life courtesy of Netflix. A year after its cancellation left fans devastated, the wrestling drama Heels is set to premiere on Netflix this fall and there is a chance that the show could be revived, should the series prove to be successful on the streamer.

“Heels” has set its Netflix launch date.

The streamer announced Wednesday that the Starz series, which was canceled after two seasons in September 2023, will become available on Netflix on Sept. 15. Both seasons of the series will drop on that date. Netflix had previously announced in April that it had licensed the series. “Heels” aired its first season on Starz in 2021, with the second season following in 2023.

That is good news for fans of the show, which followed the professional wrestlers of the Duffy Wrestling League, a small independent promotion in Georgia. Jack Spade (Stephen Amell) inherited the league from his father and now struggles to keep it afloat while also trying to take it to the next level.

Starz canceled the series in 2023. In April, Netflix and Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution Group agreed to a licensing agreement for the two seasons of the series that stars Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Allen Maldonado, Alison Luff, Chris Bauer, Kelli Berglund, Mary McCormack, Robby Ramos, Trey Tucker, Roxton Garcia, and James Harrison.

The new trailer for Snowpiercer season 4 highlights the high stakes of the final episodes, previewing more than one potentially deadly showdown. After the news that the dystopian sci-fi show's final episodes would not air on TNT, it was announced in March that Snowpiercer season 4 found a new home on AMC and AMC+. The deal came about as the episodes had already been filmed and completed, bringing closure to major stories after more than a two-year absence.

“Snowpiercer” is getting back on track.

The fourth and final season of the series debuts July 21, with Daveed Diggs wrapping up his role as post-apocalyptic political dissident Andre Layton. The show is based on the graphic novel series by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette, which was later adapted into a film starring Chris Evans and directed by Bong Joon Ho.

The “Snowpiercer” series was canceled after running for three seasons on TNT, but AMC salvaged it for its fourth and final season.

Per the official synopsis, the show is set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland. “Snowpiercer” centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival play out while Andre Layton (Diggs) escapes the ever-moving train.

Updated, 12 Pm: AMC has dropped the official trailer for the fourth and final season of post-apocalyptic drama series Snowpiercer, which promises both “The Closing Act” and “A New Beginning.”

A voiceover sets the scene at the beginning of the trailer: “Now, the closing act. I’ll never forget our first revolution. The deafening silence of a frozen world. No one said a word for what felt like weeks. And in the quiet, we faced the choices we had made.” And then… “This is a new beginning, a new Eden filled with survivors looking for a second chance”.

However, AMC Networks ultimately picked up Snowpiercer, and gave the series a chance to premiere its fourth and final season.

The video teases the arrival of unknown enemies from the outside world, as the residents of New Eden must face the challenges of their new reality. Snowpiercer Season 4 is expected to make its debut on Sunday, July 21 on AMC and AMC+. Written by Paul Zbyszewski, the first episode is set to be titled "Snakes in the Garden." Season 3 concludes with the discovery that the outside world has now become warm and habitable after over seven years, since the Earth has turned into a frozen wasteland.

The pro wrestling series Heels is making its way to Netflix this summer following a two-season run on Starz. A Netflix premiere date has been revealed for the series, and if it finds a big enough audience on the streaming platform, then Season 3 is a very real possibility.

Per PWInsider, Heels will start streaming on Netflix on July 29, 2024, though this date hasn't been officially announced by the streamer at this time. Both seasons of the series will be streaming together, allowing fans and newcomers to the show to binge-watch every episode. In April, it was reported that Netflix had acquired non-exclusive rights to stream the show, and that the company was open to reviving Heels with a potential third season. Of course, that will depend upon Heels drawing in high enough viewership to justify the revival.

It's been 15 years since Glee first aired, and two of the show's stars reunited this week to celebrate the anniversary. Darren Criss and Mike O'Malley had a small Hummel-Anderson family reunion and shared their meetup on social media. Sadly, the sweet reunion didn't include any others from their Glee family, but the duo looked delighted to be reunited. O'Malley shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter), which featured his in-show son-in-law, with the caption "Heckuva son-in-law." The photo had both men smiling and pointing to each other and didn't give any further context for their meet-up.

Exclusive: 20th Century Studios has rounded out the cast of its heist thriller Eenie Meanie, from writer-director Shawn Simmons. Newcomers include Andy Garcia (Pain Hustlers), Jermaine Fowler (Ricky Stanicky), Marshawn Lynch (Bottoms), Chris Bauer (Fellow Travelers), Steve Zahn (Wildcat), and Mike O’Malley (Heels).

The film centers on Edie (Weaving), a former teenage getaway driver who is dragged back into her unsavory past when a former employer (Garcia) offers her a chance to save the life of her chronically unreliable ex-boyfriend (Glusman). NBC Decides Against Renewing New Comedy Series

Extended Family was granted a pilot episode in 2022. The pilot wound up being a great success and several big names signed up to be part of the show. Some of the names included in the project were Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men), Abigail Spencer (Grey’s Anatomy), and Donald Faison (Scrubs).

However, when they started filming, it was delayed by the strikes, which went on for several months. They were able to film six episodes before the strikes, leaving the remaining seven episodes left to film once production resumed four days after the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The final season of Snowpiercer finally has a premiere date. AMC has announced the debut of the fourth season of the former TNT series with the release of several first-look photos. Initially, the plan was to bring the series’ fourth season to the network in 2025, but viewers will not have to wait that long.

NBC has renewed “Lopez vs. Lopez” for Season 3, while “Extended Family” has been canceled after one season.

In the recently concluded second season of “Lopez vs. Lopez,” Mayan (Mayan Lopez) and the Lopez family underwent big changes while George (George Lopez) took his first step in sobriety. Alongside the Lopezes, the cast includes Selenis Leyva, Matt Shively, Brice Gonzalez and Al Madrigal.

Per Live + Same Day data from Nielsen, Season 2 premiered to 2.3 million viewers and ranged from 1.5 to 2.2 million viewers for the rest of the season, while NBCUniversal notes that the show has reached 10 million viewers to date across platforms, including Peacock. Season 3 will debut during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.

Ahead of next week’s upfront presentation to Madison Avenue ad buyers, NBC has solidified its comedy lineup for the 2024-25 broadcast season.

The network has handed out a series order to the multicamera comedy Happy’s Place, starring Reba McEntire, and renewed George Lopez’s half-hour Lopez vs. Lopez for a third season. Additionally, NBC has canceled rookie comedy Extended Family, starring Jon Cryer.

Happy’s Place, which was picked up to pilot in late January, revolves around Bobbie (McEntire), who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had. The series reunites McEntire with the team behind her eponymous 2001 sitcom, including showrunner Kevin Abbott and co-star Melissa Peterman. Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn round out the cast of the series, which is produced in-house at Universal Television.
