Breaking her nine-month social media hiatus, Marie Osmond paid tribute to her late older brother with a heartfelt statement Wednesday on Instagram, after Wayne died at age 73 on New Year’s Day in Utah after suffering a stroke.

“I’m so grateful that just a few weeks ago, I was able to take a long drive to spend time with my brother Wayne,” she wrote in the post. “I really felt the Spirit compel me to go see him, and I’m so thankful I listened to what I was feeling. I will cherish those hours I spent with him for the rest of my life. I didn’t know that just a few days after my visit, he would have a massive stroke.

On Friday, Jan. 3, the Golden Globes will host a special dinner at the Beverly Hilton honoring the Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient, Viola Davis, and the Carol Burnett Award recipient, Ted Danson. Gold Derby has learned that Meryl Streep will present to Davis, while Mary Steenburgen, Danson’s wife, will present to him. Other celebrities expected to be in attendance include Carol Burnett and Jane Fonda.

The Cecil B. DeMille Award was first created in 1952 and honors film artisans, while the Carol Burnett Award, which celebrates television stars, was first doled out in 2019. Looking ahead to Sunday night’s main ceremony, both Davis and Danson will present an award on CBS’s broadcast of the 82nd Golden Globes.

News has come out that Wayne Osmond, one of the original Osmond Brothers singers, has passed away. The performer’s death was confirmed by his family in a statement. He was 73 years old at the time of his passing.

Wayne was the second-eldest of the original Osmond Brothers. He was also the fourth oldest of the nine Osmond siblings, which includes siblings Donny and Marie.

Originally, Wayne and his brothers, Alan, Merrill, and Jay, formed a barbershop quartet and were discovered during a filmed performance at Disneyland. The four were later joined by brothers Donny and Jimmy.

Wayne Osmond, who provided a strong baritone voice to the harmonious pop group that became known as The Osmond Brothers and then The Osmonds, has died. He was 73.

Osmond died Wednesday night in a hospital in Salt Lake City after suffering “a massive stroke,” his brother Merrill Osmond reported.

“I’ve never known a man that had more humility. A man with absolutely no guile. An individual that was quick to forgive and had the ability to show unconditional love to everyone he ever met,” he wrote on Facebook.

“His legacy of faith, music, love and laughter have influenced the lives of many people around the world,” his family added in a statement. “He would want everyone to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that families are forever and that banana splits are the best dessert. We love him and will miss him dearly.”

In his seventh decade, Donny Osmond has a nightly show on the Las Vegas strip and is about to return to the UK stage for a turn in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s Bible-inspired musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

This would all come as a surprise to his childhood friend and fellow superstar Michael Jackson, whom Osmond remembers giving him some stark advice when his career hit the pits in the 1980s.

Osmond came to fame in the 1960s and early 1970s with his singing family of six brothers, one sister, while at the same time Jackson was the breakout star of his own family group, The Jackson Five. Both groups sold millions around the world, and Donny became a solo superstar.

However, following two decades of success, Donny Osmond could suddenly no longer get arrested. In an interview with The Times of London, he remembers asking Michael Jackson for advice.

Eric Gardner, Chairman and CEO of Panacea Entertainment who began his career coordinating tours for Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead before pivoting to talent management for such clients as Paul Shaffer, Donny Osmond, The Sex Pistols, as well as members of The Rolling Stones, The E Street Band and The Who, died at his home in Camarillo, California, July 19 from complications of pneumonia. He was 74.

His death was announced by Janis Gardner, his wife and Panacea Entertainment co-owner.

Born Eric Winslow Gardner on November 20, 1949, Garner’s long and notable career as a talent manager, film, television, and Las Vegas residency show producer began in 1970 when he started coordinating tours for the bands Jefferson Airplane, Kiss, and the Grateful Dead. By 1973 his company Panacea Entertainment Corp. was coordinating tours for major bands in 23 countries around the world.

A recent clip on Instagram proved what Family Feud fans are talking about during an episode of Celebrity Family Feud.

In the episode, Robin Thicke and his team went up against Anthony Anderson and his team.

In the Reel, a contestant named Ava – who played on Robin Thicke’s team – gave host Steve Harvey a survey response that had Family Feud viewers responding with shock and amusement.

Contestants must use clues from the Clue Wall and challenges to guess each other's identities, with some objects being red herrings.

Claim to Fame season 3 hasn't premiered yet, but some fans already know the identity of one of the celebrity relatives because they're fans of his famous family. Hosted by Kevin and Franklin Jonas, Claim to Fame season 3 features 11 celebrity relatives competing for the $100,000 grand prize. With “Dancing with the Stars” set to come back for a 33rd season this fall, there’s a long list of celebrities who deserve to compete. Steve Lawrence, a king among easy-listening crooners who rocketed to fame in the ’50s and ’60s as half of the duo Steve and Eydie, died Thursday at age 88. Lawrence died at home in Los Angeles, and the cause of death was complications from Alzheimer’s disease, according to a spokesperson for the family, Susan DuBow.

Lawrence’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis had finally put an end to his touring career in 2019, after a run in the public eye that spanned six and a half decades.

Lawrence was preceded in death in 2013 by his wife, Eydie Gormé, with whom he enjoyed nearly unparalleled success as a performing couple during their heyday as touring artists and TV stars in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. The couple had continued to tour together through 2009.

Steve Lawrence, the charismatic Grammy- and Emmy-winning crooner who delighted audiences for decades in nightclubs, on concert stages and in film and television appearances, died Thursday. He was 88.

Lawrence, who partnered in a popular act with his wife of 55 years, the late Eydie Gormé, died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease, a publicidst announced.

With his boyish good looks, silky voice and breezy personality, Lawrence broke into show business when he won a talent competition on Arthur Godfrey’s CBS show and signed with King Records as a teenager. The singer chose to stay old school and resist the allure of rock ‘n’ roll.

“It didn’t attract me as much,” Lawrence once said. “I grew up in a time period when music was written by Irving Berlin and Cole Porter and George and Ira Gershwin and Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart and Sammy Cahn and Julie Stein.

“The Masked Singer” will look a little different for Season 11. The wacky reality TV singing competition that showcases secret celebrities performing in elaborate costumes will have a new panelist at the detectives’ table. Fox has announced singer Rita Ora will replace Nicole Scherzinger, who served as a panelist alongside Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg and Ken Jeong for the first 10 seasons. They will all return with host Nick Cannon when Season 11 premieres March 6, 2024 on Fox.

Review: Young people today have no idea how hard it was to see the Star Wars Holiday Special in the days before the internet. I remember only being aware of the Holiday Special in the mid-nineties thanks to the occasional mention in Starlog or Sci-Fi Universe. In about 1996, some friends and I attended a Star Wars Convention in Montreal, and the big attraction was that they would be screening the Holiday Special in full on someone’s bootleg tape. My pals and I were so excited, but after all the years of reading about it and dreaming of what it could be like, we walked out after ten minutes. Nine minutes of unsubtitled Wookie was enough to turn us off, and to this day, I don’t think I’ve ever actually sat through the whole thing.
