Was president of United International Pictures, which distributed films overseas for Universal, Paramount, United Artists and MGM.

Arrived in the U.S. with his father at the start of WWII and served in the U.S. Army before going into the film distribution business.

Born in Vienna, Austria but raised in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He retired to Prague in 1989 and died there 20 years later.
