Days of Our Lives star Stacy Haiduk (Kristen Dimera) traded her soap opera props for a splash of primetime fun, popping into a recent episode of “Swat”. The soap star also appeared previously in the CBS soap “The Young And The Restless”; might she be leaving the soap opera world for primetime?
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – A Different Kind Of Role
Stacy has played crazy villains in her previous soap opera roles, so playing the role of a character named Thomas’ (Matt Anspach) mother may seem tame. This was a guest role, so she hasn’t been added to the regular cast, but it certainly is a change.
While the actress known for soap opera, having also played in the defunct ABC soap “All My Children” has appeared on TV movies in the past, she’s only guested on primetime shows.

Every summer, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invites a deluge of new members to join its ranks. Since #OscarsSoWhite back in 2015, the Academy has moved away from its elitist tendencies and toward embracing younger and more diverse artists and executives from all over the world. This year’s invited class is no exception.
If the invitees all accept Academy membership, the total members will number 10,910 and voting members 9,934. And with the addition of the 2024 members, 35 percent of Academy members identify as women, 20 percent of Academy members are from underrepresented ethnic and racial communities, and 20 percent of Academy members are from countries or territories outside the U.S.
As usual, a slew of Oscar nominees and winners are gaining admittance to the club (71 Oscar nominees and 19 winners), including actors Lily Gladstone (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Sandra Hüller, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“The Holdovers”), costume designer Holly Waddington...

The Gates spoilers tease that the brand new soap coming to CBS won’t premiere until January of 2025 but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been hints about casting already.
Fans of Obba Babatunde, who played Julius Avant from 2015 through 2020 on The Bold and The Beautiful, still miss the character to this day. He seems like he might be a perfect fit for the new show, and his fans most certainly agree.
The Gates will be centered around a wealthy black family who live in a gated community, so Babatunde could easily be case of the patriarch of the central family.
The Gates Spoilers – Obba Babatunde Won An Emmy!
In a recent post on X, formerly knows as Twitter, Babatunde shared a picture from when he won the Emmy for his work on the Bold and the Beautiful.

The Critics Choice Award for chutzpah goes to … the lady swathed in gold lamé, sporting a Mohawk fade hairstyle who, without so much as a by-your-leave, crashed past me and scooped up a bottle of Milagro Silver tequila that was part of the centerpiece on tables at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
“Can I,” she asks, grabbing the booze.
Wasn’t my liquor.
The thing that made me jump up in my seat was that Mohawk Lady already had bottles under her arm.
Quick as a flash, she repeated the same move at neighboring tables.
By now she had a haul of five or six bottles. Crash! One of them fell to the ground, so she swiped a replacement.
Stirred the former crime reporter in me. Who was Mohawk Lady?
She’s an online critic, someone at another table tells me.
Later on I ask her directly but she mumbles,...

Burbank, CA – One of the Man of Steel’s most personal tales in DC history – from the mind of comics icon Grant Morrison, and produced under the expert oversight of animation legends Bruce Timm and Dwayne McDuffie – All-Star Superman will be available to own on 4K Ultra HD for the very first time on April 18, 2023 from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.
Grant Morrison’s beloved, Eisner Award-winning vision of Superman’s heroic final days on Earth is brought to exquisite, animated life in All-Star Superman. The film begins as the Man of Steel rescues an ill-fated mission to the Sun (sabotaged by Lex Luthor) but, in the process, is oversaturated by radiation – which accelerates his cell degeneration. Sensing even he will be unable to cheat death, Superman ventures into new realms – finally revealing his secret to Lois, confronting Lex Luthor’s perspective of humanity, and attempting to ensure Earth’s...

Liam Gallagher has been left enraged after Babatúndé Aléshé was eliminated from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
The stand-up comedian was the fifth contestant to be voted out of camp during Wednesday (23 November) night’s show. Fellow comedian Seann Walsh was also in the bottom two, but narrowly avoided elimination.
Speaking to Ant and Dec – after spilling champagne on himself – Aléshé said that he “needed my freedom” after his time in the jungle.
“Spending two and a bit weeks in there is hardcore,” he said.
However, viewers at home were sad to see Aléshé go, with former Oasis frontman Gallagher commenting: “F*** off love baba Tunde [sic] can’t live in a world where T*** Hancock still pulling the wool.”
Aléshé replied to Gallagher’s tweet, commenting: “Man Like Liam Gallagher!!!!!!!!!”
Questioned why Aléshé had been the least popular contestant over the likes of Hancock and Chris Moyles.

The feathers were swaying and sequins were glittering at last night’s star-studded Wearable Art Gala, a benefit celebrating the 5th anniversary of Waco Theater Center, founded by co-artistic directors Tina Knowles-Lawson and Richard Lawson. Inspired by the aesthetics and Black excellence of the Harlem Renaissance era, the benefit is designed to support the company’s artistic and youth mentorship programs through a fine art auction.
“Each year we find a theme that connects us historically with our past,” Richard Lawson told THR. “[We explore] the evolution of African culture in the western world.” Previous themes have included The Lion King and Black Panther‘s Wakanda. Many gangland parodies fall flat, but not Jonathan Demme’s marvelous combo of high spirits and murder. Mafia spouse Angela de Marco’s story is goofy comedy with an edge of economic reality: how does one newly-impoverished New Yawk dame make a living for her orphaned son, while avoiding the adulterous attentions of the Big Boss who had her husband iced? Michelle Pfeiffer came into her own, Dean Stockwell has his best adult role and Matthew Modine is uniquely charming as an amorous FBI agent. The tonal balance is abetted by a supporting performances that go every which way: Mercedes Ruehl, Alec Baldwin, Oliver Platt and a slew of Demme regulars. Plus a music score by David Byrne. The disc features three new video interviews.

The best horror film of the 1990s and perhaps the only serial killer picture post- Psycho that can stand on equal terms with Hitchcock’s classic, Jonathan Demme and Ted Tally’s adaptation of the Thomas Harris novel is a standout experience in every way. Not all 4K Ultra HD encodings are worth crowing about but this one is — the added visual detail and especially the contrast range really make a difference. Kino offers a good selection of extras as well, including a teaser trailer I haven’t seen for years and a fine Tim Lucas commentary.

During Hollywood’s Summer of Racial Reckoning, the portrayal of police and law enforcement on screen was put under the microscope.
The simmering tensions against the people entrusted to protect and serve their communities boiled over amid nationwide protests against police brutality and systemic racism, following George Floyd’s murder by a Minneapolis police officer. CBS’ S.W.A.T. will kick off its fourth season with a postponed — yet more relevant-than-ever — episode that flashes back to the 1992 Los Angeles riots, TVLine has confirmed.
As originally planned out over a year ago, this flashback episode would have closed out Season 3 on April 29, which was the 28th anniversary of the Los Angeles riots (which stemmed from the acquittal of four LAPD officers for usage of excessive force in the arrest and beating of Rodney King). Instead, the episode will now open Season 4, which will arrive later this fall (again airing Wednesdays at 10/9c).

Talk about staying power — Jonathan Demme’s riveting, ultimately humanistic horror thriller raked in a full house of Oscars and is still scaring new viewers. Even those that chose to avoid it know what it’s all about. My review bows to the film’s superiority and remarks on some of its finer points of cinematic splendor.

Autumn is here, and I got reviews up the rear!
Monster Mansion Memories
• Release Date: Available Now on DVD
• Written By: Andy Wolf
• Directed By: Andy Wolf
• Starring: Alan Milair, Bill Lape
Anyone that has read this column even briefly knows that I try and keep the spirit of classic horror movie TV hosts undead and un-well. Morgus, Zacherle, Vampira… I love them, one and all! But as much as I adore and try to emulate these greats of the preternatural past, I’m always amazed at how many more exist that I’ve ne’er heard of. Case in point: the subject of the doc Monster Mansion Memories, Dr. E. Nick Witty and his faithful servant Epal.
A low budget, regional horror program (based out of Syracuse, New York), Monster Movie Matinee still had a sense of lore, not to mention production value that was unheard of in programs of its kind.
