“In the wake of this tragedy, the family has been heartbroken to see that certain individuals have chosen to profit from their grief, spreading false and unkind stories about their mother,” read a statement provided to Deadline on behalf of the sisters by their publicist. “These actions only deepen their pain and complicate an already difficult time. David Hasselhoff’s ex-wife, Pamela Bach, 61, died by suicide on Wednesday when she shot herself in the head.
Bach was born in Oklahoma and started modeling at 16. She debuted on-screen in the 1983 film Rumble Fish and two years later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Following a year in L.A., Bach moved to New York City and signed with the Ford Petite Modeling Agency. Throughout the 1990s, she appeared in 14 episodes of her then-husband Hasselhoff’s hit show Baywatch.
In 2015, Hasselhoff moved on to marry girlfriend Haley Roberts.
Bach’s neighbor, Hiromi Osiecki, spoke to The Daily Mail about when she last saw Bach, taking out the trash on Monday. She remembered, “I felt she looked sad.”
Osiecki recounted how the paramedics arrived at roughly 9:00 p.m. while Hasselhoff and the daughter he shared with Bach, Hayley, 32, were in the throes of grief.

Alegerian boxer Imane Khelif locked in an Olympic medal after trouncing Hungary’s Anna Luca Hamori 5-0 in an emotional quarterfinal bout, ensuring that she’ll take home at least a bronze. Khelif broke down in tears following her victory.
The win came just hours after Hamori posted a controversial, and since deleted, image of a female boxer squaring off against a horned monster in the ring. The post is just the latest slight Khelif’s faced about her gender this week.
The controversy began after Khelif defeated Italian boxer Angela Carini in less than a minute. It re-sparked a debate on whether Khelif should have been allowed to compete after she failed an unspecified gender eligibility test from the now-banned International Boxing Association.
Imane Khelif wins her quarterfinals boxing match against Luca Hamori, who posted this graphic comparing Khelif to a monster.
Khelif still reaches out to shake Hamori's hand after the match.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif broke down in tears after winning the 66 kg quarter-final boxing match against Hungary’s Anna Luca Hamori following an emotional past few days. Just this morning, Hamori posted a controversial now-deleted image on Instagram of a muscular horned monster facing off against a female boxer.
Khelif, who was welcomed in the ring like a rockstar by cheering supporters, has been targeted by persistent backlash online following her victory over Italy’s Angela Carini in a bout that lasted less than a minute.
One of Algeria’s first three Olympic women’s boxers sent to Tokyo three years ago, Khelif has faced some setbacks after being disqualified at last year’s Women’s World Championships, along with Taiwan’s Lin Yu‑ting, due to a gender eligibility test which reportedly revealed elevated levels of testosterone in their systems.

Seeing as Cate Blanchett has been one of the most respected actresses for more than a quarter-century now, it’s best not to set her off. But it’s possible. And while Lydia Tár has her own musings on life, technology and Bach, what might get Cate Blanchett showing disgust than anything is trigger warnings.
Speaking with The Times, Cate Blanchett noted that difficult conversation is necessary in our society but is so rarely implemented, adding that so-called trigger warnings aren’t helping. “Culturally we are terrified of tough conversations. Boss to employee. Employee to boss. Friend to friend. But we need them. We talk about radical candour, but when there’s a trigger warning in front of something you are implying that there is a lack of mutual respect or that the subject hasn’t been properly interrogated.” Oh, we can just hear those words coming out of the mouth of Lydia Tár.

Prosecutors in the trial involving handwritten lyrics from the Eagles’ 1976 classic Hotel California dismissed the case on Wednesday in a surprise decision that seemingly puts an end to one of the more unusual music-related criminal trials in recent years.

True crime is always a genre that dips into controversy, but HBO's upcoming docuseries "Savior Complex" is raising even more questions than usual. The documentary traces the story of Renee Bach, an American evangelical missionary, and the nonprofit she ran that has been accused of providing unlicensed - and allegedly deadly - medical care to Ugandan children. While the documentary aims to provide commentary on the white-savior complex, the trailer has prompted criticism from many who believe the documentary is platforming Bach and giving her a microphone to "defend" her actions, which is offensive considering the immense harm she allegedly caused. Before the series arrives, let's take a look at what we know about the devastating true story.
Who Is Renee Bach?
According to a 2020 article in The New Yorker, Bach was "a homeschooled missionary who had arrived in Uganda at the age of 19 and started an N.G.O.

In her adoptive country, Tina Turner was more than just a swivel-hipped rock, R&b and pop superstar. She unapologetically moved to Switzerland for its discretion and calm, carrying her very public persona into a very private country. She relished her life as a Swiss citizen — and the feeling was mutual.
It seems love’s got to do with it, too: In her 2018 memoir, “My Love Story,” Turner shared her emotion for longtime boyfriend-turned-husband Erwin Bach — a German record producer who had set up in Switzerland. She moved to join him in the mid-1990s, nearly a decade after they first met.

Tina Turner was a legend in every sense of the word, and her death at age 83 on May 24 sparked countless tributes, as well as a renewed interest in her life story. Turner's life was marked by incredible resilience, and the comeback she launched in the 1980s after leaving her abusive husband in 1976 made her a prime example of how to rise from the ashes after hardship.
Fortunately, Turner seemed to find new love and peace - as well as a new home - in the last few decades of her life. Turner died at her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, but she first moved to the country in 1995. As it turned out, love had something to do with her decision to leave America, but her own desire for peace and privacy also played a role.

Tina Turner is well-known for being a legendary singer, rock 'n' roll icon, and trailblazing artist who inspired generations, even after her death was announced on May 24. She was 83 years old. The concept of a wider multiverse is a key part of the Pokémon world, with references to its existence being found in many games. This multiverse seems to tie all the games together, with the wider implications even connecting to the real world. And although this aspect of the setting has seemingly faded from prominence in recent Generations, in reality it continues to be built upon even now.
The idea of parallel universes holds potent power as a plot device, allowing for the exploration of what-ifs and alternative storylines that would otherwise be incompatible with the main narrative. Although it was not acknowledged for many years, Pokémon’s tradition of producing multiple game versions at once fits in perfectly with this philosophy. Depending on the specific game different Pokémon can be found, up to and including the local Legendary Pokémon, which can in turn affect the plot and motivations of the characters involved,...

12 May 2023 — Three-time Grammy® Award-winning violinist Hilary Hahn has announced her latest album with Deutsche Grammophon: a recording of Eugène Ysaÿe’s Six Sonatas for Violin Solo, op. 27, to be released July 14 on CD, a 2-lp gatefold vinyl edition, and in digital formats including a Dolby Atmos version. Composed beginning in 1923, these six sonatas are among the supreme feats of technical virtuosity in the violin repertoire. Hahn’s interpretations, recorded last fall in the lead-up to this year’s centenary, see her come full circle as a direct musical descendant of Ysaÿe himself.
“Just as Eugène Ysaÿe was inspired by Bach to write these six sonatas—and in doing so set a crucial milestone in the evolution of the violin—so too am I inspired by Ysaÿe to continually grow as an artist, to pour all of myself into this music and to commit myself fully to the pieces appearing on this recording,...
