  • In the original The Parent Trap (1961) she was golddigger Vicki Robinson. Thirty-seven years later she played Vicki Blake, mother of the new golddigger, in the remake The Parent Trap (1998).
  • Husband Jack Warner led California-based architectural firm, named four times in the top 100. Designed the Bel-Air Country Club and a wing of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. Died of cancer aged 87.
  • In July 1960, Barnes was dropped from the Boston Social Register for having become an actress.
  • Joanna graduated with honors in 1956 from Smith College, a private liberal arts women's college in Northampton, Massachusetts.
  • Was living in The Sea Ranch development along the northern coast of California at the time of her death.
  • She is a lifelong liberal Democrat.
  • She was the daughter of Alice Weston (Mutch) and John Pindar Barnes.
  • She was the last surviving credited cast member of Spartacus (1960).
