The founder of Bill Treusch Management (formerly Bill Treusch & Associates) got his start as an assistant to the Oscar-nominated actor Montgomery Clift and then as a theatrical talent agent with Dudley Field Malone. Films about modern warfare tend to face an uphill battle. Current conflicts are hardly box office gold, so to find an audience, you need to have a very specific appeal. In the case of Thank You For Your Service, filmmaker Jason Hall finds an entry point with the mental battle being fought by the troops. Opening tomorrow (or tonight, depending on when you read this), the film will tug at your heart, potentially bring you to tears, and leave you invested in the plight of our wounded warriors. It’s one of the better films of 2017 so far and deserves to find a wide audience. Having seen it twice already, it will challenge you in all the right ways. This movie is an adaptation of the David Finkel book of the same name. Focusing mainly on a pair of soldiers as they return home from Iraq and adjust to civilian life,...

DreamWorks Pictures has released a first look at their upcoming film Thank You For Your Service.
The drama follows a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life, while living with the memory of a war that threatens to destroy them long after they’ve left the battlefield.
Starring an ensemble cast led by Miles Teller, Haley Bennett, Joe Cole, Amy Schumer, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Brad Beyer, Omar J. Dorsey and Jayson Warner Smith, the drama is based on the bestselling book by Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and author David Finkel.
Jason Hall, who wrote the screenplay of American Sniper, makes his directorial debut with Thank You For Your Service and also serves as its screenwriter.
Book synopsis:
No journalist has reckoned with the psychology of war as intimately as David Finkel. In The Good Soldiers, his bestselling account from the front lines of Baghdad, Finkel embedded with the men of the 2-16 Infantry Battalion as they carried out the infamous “surge,” a grueling fifteen-month tour that changed them all forever.
In Thank You for Your Service, Finkel follows many of those same men as they return home and struggle to reintegrate―both into their family lives and into American society at large. He is with them in their most intimate, painful, and hopeful moments as they try to recover, and in doing so, he creates an indelible, essential portrait of what life after war is like―not just for these soldiers, but for their wives, widows, children, and friends, and for the professionals who are truly trying, and to a great degree failing, to undo the damage that has been done. Thank You for Your Service is an act of understanding, and it offers a more complete picture than we have ever had of two essential questions: When we ask young men and women to go to war, what are we asking of them? And when they return, what are we thanking them for?
Jon Kilik (The Hunger Games series, Babel) produces the film, while Ann Ruark (Biutiful) executive produces.
Universal Pictures will release the film October 27.

A trailer has been released for the new military film Thank You For Your Service, which is based on a true story. The film focuses on "a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life, while living with the memory of a war that threatens to destroy them long after they’ve left the battlefield."
It looks like a solid film with a powerful message. The movie was directed by Jason Hall, who was the screenwriter of Clint Eastwood's American Sniper. This is his directorial debut and the film was adapted from the book of the same name written by David Finkel.

Amy Schumer, one of my favorite comedians these days, is looking to show her dramatic side in the upcoming Ptsd drama Thank You For Your Service. American Sniper scribe Jason Hall wrote the film and will make his directorial debut with the project. Schumer’s role hasn’t been revealed at this point but it’s interesting to note she will be joining Whiplash’s Miles Teller in the movie.
Based on the book of the same name by David Finkel, the film follows a group of soldiers returning home from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into civilian life, with Teller leading a cast that includes Haley Bennet, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Joe Cole, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze, Brad Beyer, Omar Dorsey, and Jayson Warner Smith.
Schumer is certainly keeping busy these days with her next starring role in a mother-daughter comedy she co-wrote which has Warm Bodies helmer Jonathan Levine directing.

1.7 More In Heaven And Earth; 1.8: Incursion
In this week’s double episode, Molly becomes a mama to be reckoned with (though she needs to work on her catchphrases), John is hit harder than ever before with the implications of playing God, and... well, all kinds of stuff. Episodes seven and eight, I presume, were meant to be aired in separate weeks, but presented together, they were a lot to deal with. Not that that’s a bad thing - we were treated to probably the greatest amount of reveals to date, not to mention a staggering amount of “what have we done?” Let’s dive in.
Really, I think it’s Katie Sparks’s ghost (for lack of a better term) that weaves the discrete stories of this week’s two hours together,...

1.2 Extinct
I’m less cautiously optimistic about and more just plain pleased with Extant after this week’s episode, Extinct. Last week’s pilot was surprisingly effective at covering an impressive amount of ground; though Extinct was a bit slower-paced, it was just as effective at building the mystery surrounding Molly’s unexplained pregnancy and troubling flashbacks to her time on the spaceship.
Molly’s not the only one with flashbacks, though - we get to know Harmon (Brad Beyer, who is nailing the still-addled astronaut) a little better this week, and as it turns out, his experience is directly parallel to Molly’s. In fact, as Dr Barton informs her, both Molly and Harmon showed the same abnormalities in their brain scans upon their returns from space. Not encouraging, considering the official story...

Houston, we have a problem: Molly's got a brain abnormality! In episode 2 of Extant, CBS's Steven Spielberg-produced drama that debuted July 9, Molly (Halle Berry) confides in her doctor, Sam (Camryn Manheim), that an alien doppelgänger of her dead boyfriend Marcus may have impregnated her in space during those 13 months away from home. Sam, however, thinks Molly may be hallucinating - a nasty side effect of a brain abnormality that also plagued former astronaut Harmon Kryger (Brad Beyer), the creepy ginger who's been stalking Molly and warning her to trust no one. Then again, Harmon does have a reason to seem paranoid.

Even if you are not a baseball fan, it is impossible to dismiss the importance or legacy of Jackie Robinson. While USA’s Royal Pains occasionally will delve on the darker side of things (the explosion supposedly killing Boris last season, for example), the long-running series also possesses a strong funny bone with banter and outlandish situations involving its cast of characters.

Brad Beyer, who co-stars in box-office hit 42, has joined the the upcoming season of USA’s Royal Pains as a recurring. Also set to recur on the medical show is Alexandra Socha (Damages). Jericho alum Beyer will play local police officer Don Barrett who befriends Hank (Mark Feuerstein). A single dad, Don lives with his teenage daughter Molly (Socha). He develops a number of symptoms that he attributes to the stress of dealing with his daughter’s newly rebellious teen attitude — but that Hank believes is caused by a larger medical issue. Warner Bros. has released seven clips from the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, led by Chadwick Boseman. Harrison Ford co-stars as Branch Rickey, the general manager who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball by signing Robinson to the Dodgers. It's a curious performance by Ford, who wraps a thick dialect around such mouthfuls as: "Someday you're going to meet God. And when he inquires as why you didn't take the field against Robinson in Philadelphia, and you answer that it's because he was a negro, it may not be a sufficient reply!" Since we are withholding judgement until we see the full context of the performance, let's focus on the fact that the period piece photography is sharp, and Boseman looks to be a charasmatic lead. Christopher Meloni, Ryan Merriman, Brad Beyer, Judy Tylor, Jon Bernthal, Nicole Beharie, and T.R. Knight co-star. Directed by Brian Helgeland, 42 opens April 12. Watch the clips after the break.

The past two years has seen two high-profile baseball-themed movies: one good, 2011’s “Moneyball,” and the other less-than-good, last year’s Clint Eastwood-starring “Trouble With The Curve.” While the latter film was a disappointment for the studio, Warner Brothers is hoping they’ll hit a homerun (see what we did there?) with the Jackie Robinson biopic “42.” Scheduled for release next month, the details of the film’s soundtrack album have been released and, as one would expect from a period film, it’s filled with popular tunes from the era. The biopic stars newcomer Chadwick Boseman with Harrison Ford, Christopher Meloni, Ryan Merriman, Brad Beyer, Judy Tylor, Jon Bernthal, Nicole Beharie and T.R. Baseball films have always been dominant among sports flicks, and in 2011 we got to see one of the best ever in Moneyball. Hoping to follow the success of that great film is 42, which deals with possibly the greatest story in the history of sports, the story of the man who broke the color barrier, Jackie Robinson. Today, the first full-length trailer for the film hit the internet.
Chadwick Boseman is still a relative newcomer, but if this trailer is any indication, he’ll be remembered as Robinson for a long time to come. We get to see a wide range of emotions from Boseman as Robinson attempts to deal with the majority of fans and other players who don’t want him on the field. Harrison Ford looks excellent as general manager Branch Rickey, and the trailer includes Rickey’s iconic quote, “I want a player who’s got the guts not to fight back.
