Nickelodeon Studios has dropped a brand-new trailer and first-look photos for its eagerly anticipated Thundermans spinoff series. Thundermans: Undercover, which began filming last August, will premiere at 7pm on Nickelodeon on January 22.

The trailer, first-look images, and premiere details arrive via Variety. Thundermans: Undercover focuses primarily on Kira Kosarin as Phoebe, Jack Griffo as Max, and Maya Le Clark as Chloe. Per Nickelodeon, the series "will follow Phoebe and Max, who are sent undercover to handle a new threat in the seaside town of Secret Shores and bring Chloe (Maya Le Clark) along to develop her superhero talent." In the first episode, "Thundercover," Phoebe and Max receive a new mission in their hi-tech beach home base, where their superhero identities remain a secret. They bring Chloe along to help her have a normal life, but the trio must stop the threats of Secret Shores and the true supervillain called Mastermind.

Phoebe, Chloe and Max are back in action in Nickelodeon’s spinoff series The Thundermans: Undercover, which will premiere Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7/6c, TVLine has learned. You can watch a full trailer above.

The half-hour episodes will air weekly on Wednesdays at 7 pm, and will follow the original characters from the live-action series. Per the official logline, the spinoff follows “Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) and Max (Jack Griffo) as they are sent undercover to handle a new threat in the beachside town of Secret Shores and bring Chloe (Maya Le Clark) along to develop her superhero talent.”

Nickelodeon Studios is moving forward with a spinoff to The Thundermans. The announcement follows the franchise making a recent return with a sequel TV movie.

In March, The Thundermans Return premiered on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. The TV movie still stands as the top entertainment telecast of the year so far in Nielsen's Live+3 ratings among children ages 6-11, and it reached 1.6 million viewers during its premiere weekend. Per Variety, this success has led to a spinoff series getting greenlit as well. Filming will start in August 2024 in Vancouver for a planned release on both Nickelodeon and Paramount+, similar to The Thundermans Return.

When The Thundermans aired its final episode on Nickelodeon in 2018, it went out the way it came in five years before: as a laugh-track-studded, half-hour comedy about a family of superheroes living in a fictional suburb called Hiddenville. The jokes were plentiful. The vibes were warm. The pet bunny was evil. (More on that in a moment.)

The kids are all grown up in The Thundermans Return, a revival movie that reunites the cast of the Nickelodeon series The Thundermans.

Created by Jed Spingarn, The Thundersmans was a superhero comedy series that followed the lives of the Thundermans, a superhero family doing their best to live normal lives in the city of Hiddenville. The show ran for four seasons from 2013 to 2018, at one point winning a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Show. It has since been revealed that the family is back in the reunion movie The Thundermans Return, which is coming to Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in March 2024. At Ccxp in Brazil on Saturday, the first teaser trailer for The Thundermans Return was unveiled, and it has been made available to watch online by Nickelodeon on YouTube. The superhero sitcom The Thundermans centers around a likable cast of characters making up its titular family. In the tradition of such superhero teams as the Fantastic Four, the Incredibles, and the Strongholds, The Thundermans are a family of diversely gifted individuals. Their eponymous show involves their attempt to secretly assimilate as ordinary suburbanites in the fictional town of Hiddenville. Originally broadcast on Nickelodeon from 2013 to 2018, The Thundermans has since acquired a larger fanbase thanks to the show being available to stream on Netflix, Hulu, and Paramount Plus. Its growing popularity has even led to the production of a TV movie revival titled The Thundermans Return.

Throughout its impressively lengthy four-season run, The Thundermans' 98 episodes mostly centered around the two eldest siblings, twins Phoebe and Max, while subplots would concern their parents and younger siblings. The core cast members of the show remain mostly known for their roles among the Thunderman clan.

The Thundermans are returning to Nickelodeon. The cable channel has ordered a reunion movie based on the superhero comedy series with the original cast returning for the feature-length film.

Nickelodeon announced this week that it had picked up The Thundermans Return, a feature-length movie based on the hit comedy.

The next chapter will follow the superpowered family as they begin a new era of superhero crimefighting.

Exclusive: Sarah Podemski (Reservation Dogs) and Rosa Blasi (The Thundermans) have signed on to star alongside Andrew Dice Clay and Jordan Johnson-Hinds in Quiver Distribution’s basketball drama Warrior Strong, which Shane Belcourt (Red Rover) is directing from Dan Gordon’s (Wyatt Earp) script.

The film currently in production in Canada centers on basketball protege and egocentric Bilal Irving (Johnson-Hinds), who is asked by school principal Jules (Podemski) to serve as the assistant coach of his former high school team, the Dumont Warriors, alongside Coach Avery Schmidt (Clay). Bilal subsequently learns that true coaching involves far more than simply teaching the game. The question is, will this rag-tag team of misfits have what it takes to put aside their differences and become Warrior Strong?

Blasi will play Vicki, who runs the local diner and slowly helps Coach Schmidt out of grieving for his deceased wife, prompting him to move on with a new relationship.

The coronavirus couldn't have come at a worse time for currently airing broadcast television hoping to end their full seasons.

Heck, it's not good for upcoming series or pilots under consideration, either.

While it's possible bubble shows might get a second life so their already carved path continues and viewers can snuggle in with what's already comfortable, if production stoppage goes on for a long time, seasons might not end at all and fall TV could get delayed until January 2021.

Saying that “the two-party slate system represents an antiquated system that no longer effectively serves the interests of the membership,” Austin now is rolling out her endorsements for board candidates from both parties – incumbent president Gabrielle Carteris’ Unite for Strength slate and challenger Matthew Modine’s Membership First opposition slate. Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures and Nathan Kahane's Good Universe are rebooting the 2004 horror-thriller The Grudge, setting Jeff Buhler (Midnight Meat Train, Insanitarium) to write the script.

Takashi Shimizu directed both the original Japanese thriller Ju-On and the English-language version The Grudge, which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as an American nurse working in Tokyo, who is exposed to a dangerous supernatural curse that locks the victim into a powerful rage.

The Grudge earned an impressive $187 million worldwide from just a $10 million budget, which helped establish the viability of low-budget horror films, five years before the micro-budget Paranormal Activity franchise took off. Sarah Michelle Gellar returned for the 2006 sequel The Grudge 2, but she did not star in the straight-to-video follow-up The Grudge 3 in 2009. The Japanese Ju-On franchise has spawned six separate features, with the seventh movie, Ju-On: The Beginning of The End, slated for release in Japan later this year.

Nickelodeon has given a 13-episode order to superhero family comedy pilot The Thundermans. As part of the pickup, the network has recast one of the two leads, with Jack Griffo replacing Tyler Peterson who played the part in the pilot. Created by Jed Spingarn, the show is about The Thundermans, a typical suburban family that happens to have astounding superpowers. I recently visited the set of CBS Films' upcoming thriller 7500, which is working towards an August 28, 2012 release date. While on the set in Los Angeles, we were able to speak with producer Roy Lee, who gave us updates on a slew of his upcoming productions, including the Oldboy remake. Here's what he had to say about Oldboy, which is gearing up to start shooting in March.

"We are planning to shoot Oldboy in March and that should start preproduction in late January. This is a completely new version written by Mark Protosevich."

Chan-wook Park's original Oldboy is based on the manga by Nobuaki Minegishi. Roy Lee said that screenwriter Mark Protosevich has come up with new elements that don't stem from the original movie or manga. He also revealed the ending will be much different, and there is a new take on the famous hallway scene from the original.

Fox’s new comedy I Hate My Teenage Daughter has nabbed one of this summer’s big-screen scene-stealers.

Wendi McLendon-Covey, who played Rita, the nympho-esque member of Maya Rudolph’s wedding party in Bridesmaids, has joined the pilot of Teenage Daughter, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Ghost House Pictures and Mandate Pictures are joining forces for another remake of The Grudge.

The franchise started with director Takashi Shimizu's Ju-On, which was spawned after two straight-to-video releases in Japan. Takashi Shimizu also directed the Japanese sequel Ju-on 2 and then the American remake The Grudge in 2004, along with its sequel, The Grudge 2, in 2006. The Grudge 3 was released straight to video in 2009, although it's the only movie in the whole series which wasn't directed by Takashi Shimizu. Toby Wilkins took over directorial duties for The Grudge 3.

It isn't known if Takashi Shimizu will return to direct this new remake. It is also unclear if Ghost House and Mandate are eyeing a theatrical release or if it will go straight-to-video.
