Good Omens star David Tennant is to play infamous Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen in an ITV drama from the makers of Sky and HBO’s Catherine The Great.
New Pictures’ three-part miniseries, Des, is based on the Brian Masters book Killing For Company, in which the author cooperated with Nilsen to get inside the mind of a man who murdered at least 15 men and boys between 1978 and 1983. Nilsen died in jail last year.
Joining Tennant is The Crown star Jason Watkins, who will play Masters, and Line Of Duty actor Daniel Mays, who features as Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jay. The story charts Nilsen’s arrest and trial, through the prism of the three men.
Des was developed by Luke Neal and Lewis Arnold, with Neal writing the first two episodes and Kelly Jones penning the third. Willow Grylls, Kim Varvell, Charlie Pattinson, Elaine Pyke, Neal, Lewis Arnold and Tennant are the executive producers.

This year's Jonathan Creek Christmas Special proves that there's life in the old duffel coat yet. Here's our spoilery review...

The last full series of Jonathan Creek, back in 2014, divided critics and audience; at the time our own reviewer complained that the central mysteries lacked the intricacy and peril of previous instalments, and there was a feeling that the spark had gone out of the show ever since Creek put away his duffel coat and moved out of the windmill.
The signs are there from the outset that this is going to be a more exciting affair: a big spooky house, a mystery involving several deaths and a Satanic ritual,...

1. “Trollhunters” Season 1 (available December 23)
Why Should I Watch It? Two big reasons: First, the director of “Pan’s Labyrinth,” Guillermo del Toro, created “Trollhunters,” an animated event series about a teenager who discovers a mystical amulet that unveils a secret civilization of trolls beneath his hometown. If the Oscar nominee himself isn’t enough, there’s another creative force — in addition to the impressive voice cast of Kelsey Grammer, Ron Perlman and Charlie Saxton — to pay attention to: Said teenager is voiced by Anton Yelchin, in what’s being billed his final role. After debuting two episodes at New York Comic-Con in October, del Toro said he never even discussed replacing Yelchin. “We didn’t go into a meeting,” del Toro said. “We didn’t have a conference. […] He was a great guy to work with, he was proud of what he did, we were proud of what he did.

Ken Bone/Twitter
The Internet has been gushing over the true winner of Sunday’s presidential debate all week. Ken Bone, the undecided voter from Illinois, blew up social media with his “plan B” red sweater (and must-follow Twitter account). He initially intended to wear an olive green suit before splitting the seam — and he just posted a photo to Twitter of the magic that could have been.
Earlier this week he told The Morning After St. Louis radio program the red cable knit was actually a last-minute outfit change. “As far as the sweater — that was actually the backup plan,...

The Dying Of The Light takes Atlantis further down its dark path, with Pasiphae at her most dangerous and unpredictable...
This review contains spoilers.
2.10 The Dying Of The Light
Broadly speaking, things are not going well in Atlantis. Our heroes are on the run and not getting on, Pasiphae isn’t the happiest of monarchs as she hunts for Ariadne and tries to keep her secret… secret, and the darkness could very well be about to consume Atlantis.
With Medusa dead, Pasiphae has confessed her secret, sending Jason on the dark path prophesied by The Oracle. Now on the run, thanks to an audacious rescue by Jason, Ariadne must survive as well as ensure that the friends are bound together, despite their growing differences that occasionally lead to violence.
Pasiphae has had her own confidence issues, knowing that now Jason is aware of his heritage and that he's the true heir to the throne.

Atlantis is indubitably stronger than it was in series one, but cancellation means it won't get a chance to capitalise on that success...
This review contains spoilers.
2.8 The Madness Of Hercules
The Madness Of Hercules deals with the aftermath of The Oracle's death, Medusa's return and the arrest of Jason, sentenced to death by the corrupt Melas and unable to speak to his beloved Ariadne, who is suffering in silence and trying to maintain some form of order in an Atlantis without an Oracle.
As Jason languishes behind bars, the friends are divided. Hercules goes on the search for his lost love, the Gorgon Medusa, and must comfort her as she struggles with her actions. Seemingly cured, she’s the one person who can free Jason, but only by sacrificing her own life.
With Ariadne unable to do anything to prevent the execution of her love, Cilix and Melas, two of her closest advisers,...
