We've waited so long for some more inanimate objects to come to life, ever since the Poddington Peas or the Shoe People. So imagine our joy when it was announced that Christina Ricci will be starring as Yellow, a waxy little colouring crayon in her next film. Yes, really. The Hero Of Color City is about a bunch of crayons who must fight an evil tyrrant who threatens to rid their city of its colour and joy. Also joining the line-up are Rosie Perez (last seen on the big screen in Pineapple Express), and talkshow host Craig Ferguson. The Hero Of Color City looks set for a 2010 release,...

Animation company Exodus Film Group has made several new deals for its cartoon-crayon tale "The Hero of Color City."

The executive producer is Max Howard, a Walt Disney Co. and Warner Bros. animation veteran who has similar duties on the upcoming Weinstein Co. release Igor. Howard waxed philosophic on the film's goals. "The first mark a child will often make in their life is with a crayon," he said. "What better way to encourage and inspire children than with a vivid world of crayons brought to life."...
